im_stuck_in_the_middle
Exactly. I love Paramore, and I love No Doubt. To be honest, I like Paramore better, but I think that's just an age thing. When No Doubt was HUGE, I was way younger. But yes... they're both talented, but they sound absolutely nothing alike. I mean... just listen to Gwen's voice vs.Hayley's voice. Gwen's voice is deeper, maybe it's an age thing, as Hayley is so young... I love Hayley's hair:wub2:
mandilambi
Gwen's voice didn't used to be so deep. Check out Tragic Kingdom. Her voice is phenominal on that record. You know me, Sarie. It's going to be Gwen over anything...lol

Guest
I think Hayley's voice is more... I don't know. Quirky? I can't decide if that's the right adjective or not. Gwen's seems more mature. Not deeper, just mature. I think you she has more talent. And Hayley's is sort of like the girl next door kind of voice. Talented, but somewhat plain-jane. Plus, I love the video where Paramore mention Gwen Stefani.
mandilambi
Yes, Don't Speak is from that record....so is "Just a Girl" and "Spiderwebs." Dunno if you have heard those tracks as well. I didn't know that there's a song that mentions Gwen. Maybe that's why people started to compare them? *shrug*
Guest
Oh it wasn't a song. For MTV2 they did these commercial things for in-between shows. Then at the end it would be like "Paramore, discover and download!" or something like that. And they were talking about frontwomen in bands. Hang on, I'll try to find the clip. Guest
The whole thing is cute, but the Gwen Stefani thing is at around 1:10 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_mmfaHJHl_c
mandilambi
I can't watch it here, cos my mom's computer has dial-up and watching a youtube vid takes like 1 1/2 to download. LOL But I will watch it when I go back to my place. You've gotten me curious....
Guest
Oh, I love "Here We Go Again" They played it acoustic at Warped once, it was so pretty. I'm trying to think of my favorite... probably "Let The Flames Begin" But I also really really love the first line from "Fences" "I'm sitting in a room made up of only big white walls and in the halls there are people looking through the window in the door they know exactly what we're here for. don't look up, just let them think there's no place else you'd rather be." mandilambi
We need to have a sleepover. In a non-creepy, not-pedophilia-rific kind of way. Yeah, and we can talk about Gwennie, and Robert, and Mika, and the girl from Paramore...and we can do each other's make-up and hair....and watch girlie movies and do generally girlie things. But yeah, totally in a non-couples, heterosexual sort of way.

Y'know... eat red meat... talk about football... things men do.
