Dark Angel Posted August 1, 2010 Share Posted August 1, 2010 I donno if any of you can help here... but im trying to install a SMF forum... i dont use to have a prob. with that but i have for the past 2 days i keep in getting an "Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2)" after ive typed in the user and password my server provider gave me... and it will create a SMF folder on my MySQL by itself... or thats what it says.... anybody who can help w. why and what now? I assume if your provider gave you the username and password to use, then they're actually hosting the forum and the MySQL database... Maybe it's a problem from the provider's end? Maybe it's a problem from the provider's end? they are not hosting the site... im installing a forum in a site i bought... so i got my own MySQL...
