  1. PART 3 --- BLOOMSBURY BALLROOM ---

When we arrived I popped a few pain killers as even a "good day" for me is tiring and painful....the show must go on and as wasn't too long till we were suppose to go in I thought I would be ok in the queue. (proplus defo gives you wings better than red bull!)

Not many people in queue..saw Christelle who I haven't seen for aggggges..it was a short Hi as I wanted a place before the Q grew..but was lovely seeing you again.

Cazgirl joined Danika, Sari and Babs,

    21092009017-1.jpg

    then 4 other people

    017-1.jpg

then us!..Bexxy, Rose and I..Rose wandered off and got everyone in the queue to sign the flag for the last time...

Bexxy and I chatted to 3 lovely girlies..CHILDISH LADY (Mfcer) and her daughter and her friend. (I adored their tattoos!)

    21092009018-2.jpg

The queue from behind...spot anyone you know LOL..okay it's Jules!!!:thumb_yello:

    21092009020-1.jpg

time did elapse rather slowly..altho I was starting to feel pale as pain was coming back..was about to sit on the pavement when John came out...told me they were putting the seats back as they had taken them away ..so cool I could sit down. When I told the others it struck me..seats BACK OUT???...so it must be a seated gig???...little did I know!...

We queued again inside by this time I was wilting fast altho when Andy came over and chatted about Rose's Road Trip in her Pengu suit around the USA..we did have a giggle...and the whole story of him getting credit on the album..he is such a lovely guy.

People were getting drinks as we were there that long...I said I would get ours but I bet the doors open...I must be psychic! Never mind Bexxy said she would get me a space and it was crazy everyone ..this long queue just all went through the door at the same time..the security just stood there and watched! It was worse than the first day at Harrods sale!

Alexander was at the bar and we had a giggle then I went to try and find Bexxy and Rose. I couldn't believe how they were near the front in the queue and were now on the outside right near the speakers! There was actually plenty of room but no where for me to hold on to and then the pushing started from behind.

It was if Babs read my mind asked if we would be better at the back. I didn't want to obviously but seeing how high the stage was we had a fab view but only if we stood up!

The chairs John was talking about were 6/8 very low contemporary lounge chairs with an extremely low table....infact Katie was sat on the floor and was the right height! They looked fab but not for the reason we needed them for. Babs and I spoke to security who kindly spoke to the manager who managed to find 1 chair?? We then noticed the people sat in the chairs were MFCers! Sarahlou, Jemmalee, julesnkev...

    sarahlou in said chair

    030-1-1.jpg

Babs in said chairs nearly horizontal!..yep they were that low!

    028-1.jpg

as was a while till the show started we sat and chatted was divine..Babs and I popping pills..I had even more pro plus and was looking for my wings! :roftl:

Cazgirl and Katie 4 Mika joined us as they had also been pushed about and being short couldn't see a thing.

    023-1.jpg

The show started and we couldn't see...so all stood up and started dancing...yep even me!..had no option this was a MIKA GIG!!!

    Jems, Babs, JulesnKev and Sarahlou

    042-1.jpg

    043-1.jpg

    to be continued.....

  2. PART 2 --- PAUL O GRADY ---

..another cab, another traffic jam..as much as I adore London the traffic is insanity in itself. The driver was fab..had picked both MIKA and POG (with both his dogs) in the past..described who sounded like Yasmine with MIKA when she had longer hair. HE LOVES MIKA!!! so I did the promo again (I think Sir Alan Sugar would have been pleased with my selling skills that day!) He said he would get one for the cab and another for his daughter who was also a fan..whoohoo!

I wasn't at the pub...if only! as someone reported...

I saw Freddie, Cazgirl, Bexxy (my +1) and Elfy-Cassie (who I haven't got a photo of..sorry babe) were at the back of the queue so just joined them...

    009-1.jpg

    007-1.jpg

I then saw Sariflor, Babs, Danika and a lady with a gorgeous pink shiny bag whose name evades me (I am crap at names but remember anything pink! :biggrin2:)

Fred, Sari and others talking to Jay about M's Champagne.

    014-1.jpg

The rather hunky guy Jay from Lost in TV and his collegue were sooooooo lovely. They said it was the first time they had asked specific fans of a guest to the show and were so pleased we had turned up.

    013-1.jpg

You have read the details from the others so won't bore you again apart from Dame Edna Everage was the perfect other guest with MIKA. I thought he came across rather shy when interviewed but blimey when he performed...he was ELECTRIC..Just awesome!! and looked gorgeous! Love the sequinned jacket.

The set....(i got wrong for taking this but hey ho!) before anyone came on.

    016-1.jpg

The people behind the scenes were laughing at the MFCers as we were "Shoutsing" (a new word) the lyrics extremely loud..one of them caught my eye and gave me the thumbs up. When we were leaving said we were fantastic audience! This actually filled me with glee as I thought they might have thought we were rather riotous and loud...THE MFC ROCK!

the nodding Olga dog we were all given for going....

    064-1.jpg

Time came to say Goodbye to Cassie and Freddie as they couldn't stay for the night show. It was really sad as we were all excited and I for one felt kinda awful for them. The disappointment was obvious in Cassie's face.

So...The Shy (kinda) Bexxy, Status Updater Rose,Smiley Cazgirl, and the gorgeous shiny pink bag lady and I hail a cab for PART 3...

Bloomsbury Ballroom Victoria House please driver! ->...

  3. Ok gonna do something that I said I would NEVER do again...WRITE A REVIEW.. why?..because I had the most stupendous day...MY MIKA DAY..was a very long one like this review will be..so will be in parts.

I am not actually typing this as I am incapable at the moment..so spelling Caz is not down to me! :roftl:

Before I start...loving the new colours!!!!!.....

    PART 1 --- The JOURNEY ---

So day starts off with not alot of sleep the night before through having weird dreams and fangurl tummy :teehee:

Got halfway to the railway station and couldn't find my mobile phone!!!!...after Blackpool I know realise the necessity of having a phone!!!!! (for those that weren't there..my mobile phone broke and had all my numbers etc in it so was not able to be contacted..was a nightmare!)...so turn the car back round we had to do!

We just arrived as the train was pulling in..woah timing was spot on! That was when I knew I was doing the right thing (I had problems with family as I am not suppose to be on my own with my illnesses...I am too determined and ignored them... to show them I could do it..much to their annoyance)

Sat with a rather pompous gentlemen who glared over his newspaper as I took out my crafting tools and gingham sellotape!..actually this broke the ice and we chatted about the reason for me going to London ..I wonder if MIKA's ears were burning? LOL (MIKA IF you read this..the label fell off the circus paper present so I had to write on it but you came too fast and I didn't get it finished!...so was something kawaii from ME!! :wub2:)

Two other passengers joined us mid conversation and I was doing the whole Promo of the new album... being as it was available in shops of today and on iTunes, how WAG went straight in the charts at No.4 (okay last week was a glitch they didn't need to know about so skipped over that! :wink2:) The journey went so fast and by the end of the journey I had 3 people totally converted and promised to buy the CD...I did feel guilty and apologised to them they said NO Way ...I never bored them at all and they wouldn't have asked so many questions if they had been.

Decided my Mastermind topic is gonna have to be the life and career of Michael Holbrook Penniman. They did ask some obscure things tho...luckily I am a mind of useless information! :roftl:

Straight to the hotel in South Kensington...stuck in traffic...NOOOOOO!!!

Checked in..the keycard wouldn't open the door so a cleaner let me in my room..or rather a closet. It was tiny Meeks could have stretched his arms out and touched both walls! I unpacked and was tired but needed a drink so as I was leaving the receptionist apologises I was in the wrong room.....had to repack ...move then change rooms and unpack again. I tend not to travel light..those who have stayed with me will verify. Seemed to take forever. This room was more spacious so threw things everywhere...

A quick shower, change and onto Part 2! ->....

  4. just woken up only 2nd time today...My Lord am I ill...but needed to say

THANK YOU to the guys who were there (you know who you are) and helped me to have an awesome day.

Yeah I am suffering (more than I ever expected I would...I was prepared for being poorley but not like this).....so I tried the queuing and being "normal" and no way can I do it again...having to crawl on my hands and knees to get to the bathroom is no fun believe me, especially as I have no feeling in the left side of my body. I defo can't take any more pain killers than i have done..eh Babs! :wink2: so moan, complain, bitch, shout do as you please tbh I don't care anymore. It is not possible for me..End OF! If I can get assistance getting in I will take it and if you don't like it I wish ME on you then you may be more understanding!

Was it worth it..in one word YES!!! the day wasn't without it's traumas and when I am well enough I will review my whole day which in itself was amazing and I know I have said some people on here drive me crazy but I saw the good side in all on Monday! (now you never thought I would say that!) :roftl:

I wanna say a HUGE THANK YOU to MIKA aswell if he manages to find time to read these boards.... if it wasn't for him I wouldn't have gone to bed a very happy girl!

Ok too much typing and I need more sleep...

    will review when I can..Night!

    xx

ps those girls jumped after Rose and I shouted at them from afar tho...well security just ignored them ...don't battle with MFCers! How does it go Caz? MFCers kick butt everytime! :thumb_yello:

  5. Are you going to Brick Lane?

I think Bexxys going straight there from her train.

Bexxy is my +1 for POG and I am hers for the night time ...as my train gets in later and need to get to hotel etc. Bexxy is going to get bands for us...so no spares there I am afraid.

I will have to go straight to the studios as won't have time to get to the ice cream van..haven't a clue how long that will take from hotel to studios but leaving an hour just incase.

    Getting excited now! :biggrin2:

  6. thats not what I meant :naughty: god, how do I explain myself? umm...

well, we are Mika's official fan club, arnt we? and Mika is very much aware of us (owning us and all) Im sure if someone who he is familiar with (from here of course) he wouldnt mind reserving you 10 tickets out of the 800 he's offering- its not like we're taking it from other non MFCr fans, right?

    You are soooo lovely! :teehee:

I've managed to change my train, so will now be arriving at kings cross at 11.50 can anyone tell which tube station i need to get to xx:thumb_yello:

Hey that sounds like my train too! where are you getting on at? I need to get to the hotel, register, drop bags off, then get to the studios as won't have time to do it all..going to the icecream thing, so banking on Bexxy..fingers xd we get bands.

I have just checked flights and even if I got a really early one I can't guareentee that I would get there in time (with connections). it is VERY frustrating........yes, it is a freebie so it is going to attract a lot of interest but if we break our necks to get there and then don't getthe tickets anyway it will be even more depressing

Yurp that's how I feel ...was even thinking of getting changed on the train to save time but prolly still not get there in time as will be gone in 20mins tops! and still need to drop my bags off. So all in the hands of fate!

    xx

  7. :teehee: Thank you :blush-anim-cl: Im glad i could help you. :biggrin2: Yep im going :thumb_yello: I cant wait :woot_jump:

  9. gonna be a nightmare getting from Waterloo to Shoreditch (if the gig is shoreditch area) after Paul O Grady..wonder if easier if we all got together in a few cabs? suppose depends on how much time we have...Oooo i hate not being able to organise things! Take a nap is gonna be outta the question...high on meds it is then!

    xx

  10. ooooh, I'll be feeling sick  all day at work on Monday wishing that I'd been able to find a way of getting there for this!!

I hope lots of MFCr's get chance to go too...GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!! :thumb_yello:

you seem awful pale by the way you type are you sure you aren't coming down with something? you might need to take Monday and Tuesday off to recover?? :wink2:

    xx

  11. Yes, that is the difficulty isn't it of not even knowing where the venue is. I may well be sluming it too...we could slum together:naughty:

OK, well if you are coming into Euston all we need to know is the nearest tube station to Brick Lane (which sadly I don't) then put the post code into Multimap E1 6QL and get a printed out map:thumb_yello:

    Kath are you a Gemini?

I just texted the same thing to Bexxy about the same time and wasn't on here at the time...spooky!

The champers is for him from the MFC :biggrin2: and other goodies

So Paul Ogrady is 5-6 THEN a gig .. I must admit I was thinking he would do it before ..

Im coming back in any case , no option

He likes single malt whiskey too!..he once said so in an interview..a scottish one when T in the park was up there I think.

Just get a later train..they go REALLY late or really early hours..you can't miss the gig hun!

For many, the problem with Mika was summed up by the closing seconds of his debut hit Grace Kelly: “Ker-ching!” With the final chord of his sure-fire chart-topper fading, the former boy soprano could no longer keep a lid on his delight with the song that he wrote as a screw-you to the record companies who told him to tone down his act. It was impossible to proffer an opinion about Grace Kelly without disclosing your feelings about a camp, half-Lebanese singer-songwriter cursed by an inability to walk into a crowded room without a show of jazz hands. In pop terms, it was kind of a gauche thing to do. But the clue to Mika’s intentions was in the song title. If you school yourself on enough 1950s musicals, you start to see the plot twists of your life in similar terms. In Mika’s internal narrative, Grace Kelly was the moment when the plucky protagonists write the song that proves their nay-sayers wrong and propels them into the big time.

In the interim, two years of bona fide pop stardom have done little to make Mika meeker. Serving notice of his second album, the recent single We Are Golden was admirable for the loftiness of its objectives. But much as you wanted to love a song with the craven rhyming couplet “Teenage dreams in a teenage circus/ Running around like a clown on purpose”, it felt like an awkward assemblage of hooks stuck together with the sort of demented pomp found on old Todd Rundgren records. Thankfully, he finds his stride with Blame It on the Girls, a double-yolker chorus with verses that take their melodic cues from the showtune- scented pop of early Harry Nilsson.

This time round, he avoided the mawkish power-balladeering that blighted sections of 2007’s Life in Cartoon Motion, but on an album whose apparent creative wellspring is the singer’s tricky adolescence, the let’s-do-the-show- right-here! chutzpah of Dr John extends some way short of a lyric with more than a hint of How Soon is Now about it. Coming from an artist who remains reticent to divulge his sexual orientation, the words of Toy Boy are bound to come under scrutiny. Here, the singer casts himself as a toy whose feelings for another plaything are cast aside in favour of a “Barbie girl”. Sadly, the plinky-plonky music-box arrangement presents a credulity- stretching challenge even for those who made it through the whole DVD of Rufus Wainwright’s re-creation of Judy Garland’s tribute concert.

Fascinating as they are, his failures are still failures. Thankfully, there aren’t many of them on The Boy Who Knew Too Much. Once We Are Golden has finished its chart journey, there are a few more representative emissaries waiting to supplant it. Over spare percussion and plaintive highlife guitars, Blue Eyes leaves as its calling card the sense of déjà vu that comes with all great pop. Best of all though, is Rain, one of several moments on here that suggests that, even if people eventually grow tired of the jazz hands, he’ll be firing hits into the ether for as long as he cares to do so. Ker-ching indeed.

  14. starting my hotel search today :sneaky2:
