Yikes what have a started. London not mentioned on the poll cause when I suggested it in the very 1st posting, I was getting a lot of negative feedback. My original ideal was to go to a hotel somewhere, get a private function room, doesn't even have to be a hotel, a pub would do. We could then control the music all night, as quiet or loud as we want. We would be in the company of like minded people. Private function, then our younglings could come along too! Obviously if it's in a hotel, we could stay there. Equally, there are travel lodges etc everywhere so cheap rooms. Location is never gonna be good for everyone so we have to go with the majority. It is possible to get cheap flights to most bigger UK locations. Trains options too. To our friends who can't for whatever reason come, sorry! But yes, we could do it each year, we could change the location. Don't be downhearted or feel left out, was never my intention. Re the date, I mentioned November cause it may be difficult to get a venue and accommodation sorted for the summer. Plus people go away during the summer, so getting a date in the summer could prove to be a nightmare, not many people holiday in November. Hope everyone is still excited and up for this!!! Ha! Have just figured out how to add a poll to the thread. Unless I am mistaken, Newcastle, Edinburgh have been suggested a few times, need one more UK destination then we will put it to a poll! Any suggestions, get them posted!!!!

Do you have kids too? Do you get half terms and in services days? We do in Scotland. We always have one around mid november-ish! Newcastle sound pretty good to me!

You can have them anywhere with as many locations, but I can only organise/help organise a UK one. One which everyone would be welcome to attend. Obviously there are some who live too far away to come and then there are some younglings (who could always bring parents, but leave them at the convention door:naughty: ) I would really like this to happen so have to keep it real and in doing that, you can't possibly meet everyones requirements. We'll see in the next few days how many could come to a UK get together and then decide on location.

Might end up having a UK one then another one based somewhere to suit others. ALLLLLLLLL are welcome to the UK get together I stresssssssssssss:biggrin2:

Absolutely Love Dublin, but costs tooooo much! Always spend a fortune over there. Temple Bar etc would just want to sit in pubs listening to the crack. This idea is get a hotel somewhere, with a private function type thing, so really it doesn't matter that much where it is, just make it easy as possible for everyone to get to.

Edinburgh has an airport and train stations, peeps shouldn't be put off, Scotland rocks big time too!

How do we decide. I will be happy as long as I can either fly or get the train (if it's newcastle, great, can even just drive there). Maybe the first question is how many people and from where are they travelling, that way we can find out about flights etc and decide then where the best place is to go??? What do you think? The summer is too soon me-thinks. How about November, after the wedding season, before the Xmas night outs start???? Gives plenty of time to organise, save, plan for babysitter etc. (Sunny, funny that you would choose Brighton!!! ) Never been, sure I would love it! For people outwith UK, an Easyjet flight route or Ryan Air or BMIbaby, all the airlines with cut price flights.

What about Blackpool, or somewhere else, help me out!! Newcastle??? We need a place that you can fly to cheap or get a train to! Glasgow, Edinburgh??? Have even spent a weekend at the Marriot in Sunderland a few years back. First thing, where is best location?? Suggestions!
