  1. Maybe obsession is too much to said.. well no it isn't I'm really into David Bowie, Marc Almond, Depeche Mode and U2. All of them had been around at least 10 years before I discovered them. This is the first time when I'm this deep with someone new This obsession thing means I will buy all the records, singles, read every article... and of course go to gigs when they're not too far away
  2. Do you read NME (New Musical Express) Magazine? I browse it in the library and I've noticed that it either loves or hates British newcomers. About Mika they weren't too happy. There has been some short clips, and the message seems to be "it will be huge, you can't avoid it, but anyway why we have to listen to this.." Maybe their views will change
  3. Tänään se tapahtui, Vh-1:llä ja MTV:llä Grace Kelly soi lähes yhtä aikaa
  4. Music TV voisi kyllä näyttää sen, samoin Voice. Pitää tarkkailla niiden uutuusvideo-ohjelmia. Samoin se Ylen Musiikki-tv:n maanantain Tuoreet-ohjelma saattaisi huomioida?
  5. I think it's wise to not answer this "boys or girls" question. If you start telling about your relationships, the press will ask all the time: are you seeing anyone/have you met someone new/why did you break up? and the point of the interviews should be in music. It seems to be hard to understand that every song doesn't have to tell about your own private personal life. Then when an artist writes songs about his/her personal tragedies, it might help to understand the lyrics if you know that there is a true story somewhere. It's a bit more relevant to know because still the main subject is in music. I think Mika has already been quite open to the press, telling stories of his childhood. That should be enough
  6. Thanks for sharing! This was my favourite quote: "I wasn’t interested in people taking me out to dinner, or offering me trips. And I didn’t necessarily want a ridiculous amount of money, but I wanted full control. I’m very thankful that I was able to get a deal where I had complete freedom, yet the right amount of dough to make the record. Normally, when someone gives you money, you lose control." There have been so many talented young pop bands who have lost their ideas and sounds because the record company has wanted something else. Mika is something real, not an artificial product. On the charts there are too many stars from "Pop Idol" or similar...
  7. Huomasitteko eilen, Mika on Suomen virallisella albumilistalla sijalla 13. Toisaalta kiva, mitä suositumpi artisti, sen enemmän biisit soi radiossa, videot pyörii telkkarissa (ihan niillä kahdella musakanavalla). Toisaalta, toivottavasti Mikasta ei tule mikään aivan mieletön ilmiö Suomessa, tulee yliannostus
  8. Eurovision song contest used have songs, that sounded like to music in different European countries. Well that was at 80s. Now every song is similar, there must be giltter, dance, changing outfits and lyrics in English. Otherwise you will not get any points. Zero for Finland was our destiny until Lordi last year changed it - and now Lordi has won every prize in Finland, sold amazing amounts of records and merchandise. I'm personally changing channel on radio or tv if there is any word of Lordi, but there is also some good: Now mainstream pop stars have interested of this competition, you know the Ark is entering from Sweden? And that makes the whole thing a bit more interesting to watch. I don't think it will ruin anyone's career. Maybe Eurovision will be a pop music competition instead of being competition of "eurovision song contest" songs
  9. Mitä, pääsenkö mä näin kärkeen myös ei vaan näkyi tuolla joitakin suomalaisia postaajia kun hain tätä ketjua. Eiköhän tänne lisää porukkaa eksy kun levy loikkaa listoille
  10. Hi! I discovered this forum when I was looking for Mika interviews in YouTube. I had heard Grace Kelly in a Finnish radio station and VH-1 music channel. I downloaded the songs to my mp3-player, because I was going to fly to US (it took 24 hours and 4 flights from Finland to CA). I listened the songs again and again on the plane and at the airports until the battery went off. I wasn't tired or bored because I had Mika's music with me. I must have looked like an idiot smiling in the endless security check lines. I found the Life in Cartoon Motion CD at the Virgin Megastore of San Francisco. I know this is not going to be one-hit-wonder to me.
