Hiya! We have been talking about going for Lebanese in West Kensington. Will you be staying overnight in London?
Aww...wish you guys were coming too.
I could stay overnight. Then I have to start looking for a room. Do you plan to go on Friday? I'd love to join you. Never been to a Lebanese restaurant before.
@Suzy and Twatty: So sorry you couldn't come

Hello my dear Apples!
I'm sorry I haven't been on much lately. I' very busy writing my last papers (I actually hope I could manage to almost finish one tonight). In not even two weeks I'll be in Brighton. The more I think about it, the more frightened I get.
Anyway, what I wanted to ask you: I just found out that I won't be able to make it to the Christmas dinner on the 29th and I wanted to ask if we could meet for a little private apple dinner on the 28th?
I hope you're all ok and enjoy the last summer days.
See you :

IKEA!
I'm living 10 minutes from the first IKEA store he opened ni the 60ths!
You're my hero!
I love Ikea!!!
-
I'll be there!
-
And now you got to say it!
It will be great to meet you too:thumb_yello: and we can share cat stories!
Can't wait to see you. I have many cat stories to share .
-
I'll be in Brighton anyway so I actually don't care where we meet in London as I'll be there in no time (I always wanted to say something like this )). It would just be great to see all of you again.
-
I'm a bit late but I'm definitely up for a Christmas meeting. Central London sounds ok. The end of November would be great.

I haven't managed to read any of the blogs yet. Don't know if I can be bothered to do so. Are they on his myspace or on Mikasound? Just in case I happen to have some time

Kooks Paradise!
You lucky bunny! Oh well, that gig is sold out yet so I can't be tempted.
Oh is it sold out already? They only started to sell the tickets like two weeks ago. Wow!
-
Hey Petra! I see you did some research .
Have I mentioned that I'll see The Kooks in Brighton? And have I mentioned that I'll live in Brighton from the end of September on for 6 months? So now I did!

Oh hi *waves*
A second cat
Hi! *waves back*
Yes, a second cat. Molly! Really cute!
So, I didn't want to disturb your discussion. What was it about by the way?
-
Hi Apples!
How are you all? Sorry for not being on much for quiet a while. I have to write a lot and I have to take care of my new second cat. Amy of course doesn't like her a bit.
Have I missed much? Are we official yet?
-
I actually deleted the post because I was worried it might go into a direction I personally wasn't entirely prepared to discuss. You mentioned molestation. And that's the connection to it that I find disturbing.
Secondly, later on in my life an older cousin said to me "Don't let Uncle Wal kiss you. He's got herpes."
Thirdly, due to having an immune disease, I'm not comfortable with unnecessary germ spreading.
But, my real concern is about the impact it has on an impressionable young female. You said it yourself in your post "I just try to go along with it". I stopped wanting to go along with it when I realised not everyone did it. I had also had, by that time, a few experiences where I thought that I just had to go along with it.
I don't mind hugging and cheek kissing and do that instead. But kissing someone directly on the lips feels to personal for me.
I know I'm a bit late on the kissing discussion but I'd like to add something to it anyway. I only know relative-lip-kissing from my father's side. Only ma grandparents did it. I was ok with it as a child but as I started to kiss boys on the lips it started to feel weird to kiss my 70-80 something grandfather. So I started to turn away when he approached me so that he only kissed my cheek. My other relatives only hugged me (if even). I also belong to those people who are very keen on their private space so I had to get used to hugging friends at first. I also get used to the habit if cheek kissing like for example in Holland as we don't do anything like that in Germany.

Happy Birthday from me as well dearest Christine! Have a nice day with loads of cake and apples

Well my cats don't really get on, but they don't fight either just a little hiss now and again. They are company for each other I think though, even so.
That sounds endurable . I mean as long as they don't constantly fight each other...
I just wonder if I'm doing the right thing with getting another grown-up and not a kitten...
-
I hope they are going to get on together!
Me too. I expect the worst. And I'm quite confused by now. Everyone is saying something else. Some say that you should definitely get a kitten when you already have an older cat, others say you should get a young grown-up cat. The one I have chosen now is about a year old and seemed really friendly and relaxed today so I hope she will kind of influence Amy in a good way.
-
I'll get a second cat next Saturday. And I have the name of the family I will live with in Brighton. Yay! Exciting day!
-
 i didn't hear that - wtf were they thinking?! the next time they really should choose who they let into the meet+greet and who not!
Yeah! For example me!

omg mellody I'm on so many pics with him! thanks! too bad this one is a bit blurry:
It looks as if the two of you are planning something. Like crashing the server again .
-
Awww, that's so sweet of you though. You'll be known as the ... I can't think of a title. Something to rhyme with appleman? Except bringing cheer instead of apples.
--Jack
I don't think I really cheered them up. I rather annoyed them with my stupid jokes. But that is my way of comforting people . I tried anyway. And I can still silently hand over tissues
-
And I'm really happy he let us in and we didn't had to be in the rain anymore. I really appreciated the whole thing
Be happy about it. I can tell you, it was ****ing cold outside and people were really annoying! ("are you STILL waiting for Mika? Do you REALLY think he'll come out?" "No! we're actually waiting for our FRIENDS to come out after having had a nice chat with Mika!!!").

After having read all your comments and seen all your pictures I just wanted to say "hi!".
I won't write a report as I'm not good at doing such things and everything has been said anyway .
First of all I want to thank all the lovely people I met in the queue and in Babzz's house. I had so much fun with you (again) and like Blue said, chatting with you all is worth all the travelling for me . And thanks again to Rockingbabzz for having us at her house. That was just amazing .
As far as the concert is concerned: I liked it . And I liked Sam Sparro. He is such a lovely guy. (Before I forget about it: Sam Sparro; 3th October; Brighton; anyone?).
After the gig: rain! It seemed even colder than back in November. Oh btw, it was nice seeing the pictures from the aftershow thing. Now I at least know how it looked inside . I seriously hope that I wasn't too much of a pain in the ass as I tried to cheer my 3 fellow rejects up. I'm not good at comforting others so I start to make stupid jokes. If I annoyed you: Sorry!
That's actually all from me. Thanks again to all the lovely people that made the days so special

I don't really like him. Jemma won tickets to see him and Duran Duran at the O2 last thursday, but we didn't go because we had to be up really early for the eurostar.....-
Ooooh. He was so nice yesterday. I just saw he'll be in Brighton a few days after I arrived so if I'll find some people I guess I'll go there . And he wore this really nice rain poncho yesterday
-
What a bummer! Pfft I went to 2 and didn't see Mika after either, mind you after Paris I had nothing nice to say, so I thought I better keep my mouth shut, so didn't go near when he came out.
We did something else with waiting for the others and not Mika outside this time. It was almost as exciting . No seriously, I hope it doesn't become a rule that I have to cheer desperate fans up after every concert. That doesn't feel well . But it was a nice show though. Anyone interested in seeing Sam Sparro in October in Brighton with me?

I'm very flexible with the time as I only have to jump on a train ( ).
Where are you all staying? Can anyone recommend me a nice place?
