  1. Nothing wrong with young bands in general - and I am even older than you, remember? :wink2::naughty:

    I've just found this pic:

    http://www.podiuminfo.nl/user_image_detail.php?image_id=1997

That girl must have stood next to me. :naughty:

    Oooooh! A red Dan :wub2:

I think it was about 80-90 minutes or so.. hm, good question. I'm sure Haasje knows it better!

To be honest: I have no idea. It was at least as long as a "normal" Mika gig. Maybe even a bit longer. 80-90 minutes sounds alright.

Ah! Thank you!! I remember seeing that setlist in a music magazine (which I didnt buy because I had already read it in the shop while waiting for the train :naughty:). I was about to google for it. Thanks Blue!

We were second row at first but the people around us queued like.. like some others we know :sneaky2:. Actively I mean. So we finally endet up second to third row. But we were close. I'm after all REALLY glad we werent more in the centre because that would have been our certain death .

    (And nighty nighty everyone!)

That's right. I would never ever go for first row centre at a Kooks gig. Never!!!

On Thursday the Kooks are coming back to Cologne. They'll give an exclusive radio concert for 1Live. You can only win tickets online. Unfortunately I don't have the link and I can't tell you if you can still participate. Just wanted to let you know. Maybe they'll air it live or later.

  2. I love the show. Dean is really hot. I'm also more into the bad boys :blush-anim-cl: . The names just confuse me a bit as Jared (?) was Dean in Gilmore Girls and now he's Sam but for me he's still kind of Dean  . Does that make sense :naughty: ?

Anyway, we (in Germany) only had the first season so far and I'm really looking forward to the next one which will only start in autumn  . How many seasons are there so far?

  3. There's a band called OOMPH!, I think they're german too. They have a sound that reminds me of Rammstein! Anyone knows them?

I do! 3 songs of them. In Extremo or something are german

Sorry to reply again to the German-bands-in-general-topic but I'd just like to say that I'm amazed at how you from all over the world know bands like OOMPH and In Extremo  . Wow!

So I'll leave again and you can continue talking about Rammstein :wink2: .

  4. Wow! A Rammstein thread. I have to admit I don't like them at all but as I'm German I feel kind of obliged to post something :wink2: . I'm always surprised about the success of German bands in other countries. Rammstein are definitely one of the bands who have the most international success.

Tokio Hotel and Rammstein - what a country! :naughty:

Great, isn't it. Could you imagine how I feel living in the middle of it all :naughty: ?

Are there any other popular types of german music ? :naughty:

I don't really know. Strangely enough Scooter comes to my mind :sneaky2: . Or Dieter Bohlen and his Modern Talking songs which all sound the same  .

    Daniel Küblböck!

    Thank you very much!

  5. Hey guys, just thought I 'd tell you about the text I got from Vicky earlier, she got on The Kooks guest list, I think it had something to do with her collection of signatures for Palladium.

That's great. Congratulations. Now I'm also patiently waiting for a report :wink2:

I think Hugh is my favourite as well. And he looks a bit like a friend of mine (a girl :naughty: ). He has a very dry and nice sense of humour. I really like that. But since I stood right in front of Dan in cologne I kind of changed my mind. He is so :wub2: . But they are all so young  and I'm so old :mf_rosetinted: .

  6. It looks as if you all had a lot of fun last night. I don't feel particularly mean lately. Just frustrated. I was out having a drink with a friend yesterday. And I tried to go shopping but only bought one shirt. Do you know this? When you really want to spend money you don't find anything nice and when you don't have any money at all you could buy whole shops? Does this also belong to Murphy's Laws? If not I think it should be added :sneaky2: .

  7. Did you get it today? I really hope you get it soon

As for a camera I don't know, canon is good, I have a canon but sony is as good I think. You'd better watch different types and see the differences like the number of megapixel, the length of the zoom, the different "modes".

I hope it helps you :original:

PS : I found this great proverb : [/color]One apple a day keeps the doctor away do you know it?

Apparently eating 4 apples a week helps prevent Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases.

No, still no letter  . I'll write them an email soon. If I only knew that I was refused than I could start looking for something else. The waiting drives me crazy. I wrote a mail to the university of Reading a few days ago and got a response yesterday where they told me that they have an Erasmus exchange programme with Bielefeld. Why the hell didn't I know that  ? The organisation of my university so sucks!!! Anyway, I'm still patiently waiting. We have a national holiday today, so no mail...

I'm also still looking for a camera. I thought I had decided on one but now I'm not sure anymore  . There are sooooo many. Terrible!

  8. Who do you like better? Mika's Andy :wub2:or The Kooks's Andy:blink:? (not sure of his name is actually Andy but I guess everyone knows what I mean)

(quite a stupid photo but I only got two of him and the other one is too blurry)

    kooksandyqk8.jpg

(couldn't find a picture where you could see him from the front)

    mikaandyqf4.jpg

The Kooks's Andy was quite annoying and old not as fresh as the Andy we are used to :wink2::naughty: . So I definitely prefer Andy Andy and not fake Andy.

  9. Hi Simona!

Respekt!

Anyway, have fun and enjoy yourself. See you.

    Haeschen

  10. Really silent in here. The Mika world is boring these days  .

My world as well. I'm still waiting for this ****ing letter  .

Something else (if one of my fellow apples pops in from time to time): I know we had this discussion a few times but I have to ask you for your camera recommendations. As you all know I'm a bit late so I didn't pay attention when it was discussed the first time :blush-anim-cl: . Any nice suggestions? I want to have something small to carry around with me in a small bag. Thanks a lot. I'm totally lost in the camera jungle :naughty:

  11. Are we the only lonely ones or is there anyone else who is reminded of Billy Brown while listening to Mr Maker?

Ok, I have to listen to Mr. Maker again :blush-anim-cl:. Its my Myspace song, isn't it? :blush-anim-cl:

I got tighter ones but that might also just be because my legs are MUCH bigger (:tears:) :lmfao:.

    Are we the KFC now?

And why don't I have that "Account" button anymore?

I know the "problem" with the tight jeans. Mine are all tight due to the size of my legs :naughty: .

KFC sounds nice. At least they did something new so we have something to talk abaout :wink2:

  12. Wow this is great !

    I hope it's true !

I'd love to see Mika doing a cover of one of their songs !

    What about Eddie's Gun? :roftl:

I also found this cover they made !

    http://www.zshare.net/audio/6746746646e452/

they are better than ace of base !

Thank you so much. That was hilarious :naughty:

The Kooks were in Amsterdam last week and I went to see them:

Amsterdam, I never knew you so well

This is how close to the stage I was standing, no security gap - hi Dan.

    l_96f31cc97608d8e6652704fa51dc0acc.jpg

    Oh Dan :wub2: !!!

Hello Petra! :thumb_yello: Now we only need Haasje here and then we're complete!

    Hi there :naughty:

Apparently I'm a fan as well. The concert I went to with Petra was great. 300 people in a tiny church in Cologne. Very nice setting and amazing atmosphere. I stood more or less right in front of Dan and realised how cute he is :wink2: . I'll see them again in June (again Cologne, again with Petra) in a venue that's called Palladium. Nice coincidence isn't it?

  13.

Glad to hear Amy's alright. Maybe she'll start using her toilet again once the collar is off, it must be really bothering her. One of my cats had to wear one after surgery and all he would do was stand in one place with his head down, collar touching the floor, so I had to take it off.

I'm a bit sad myself. The vet had to put to sleep the last of my four cats a few days ago and I really miss her. I've had her for 16 years. She was the smallest kitten in the litter, but she's survived all her brothers and sisters.

And I can't get a new kitten anymore because I'm allergic.

    IMG_1438.jpg

Amy got used to the collar by now. She started to use her toilet again last night. She's still not permitted in the bedroom though :wink2: .

I'm so sad for your cat. She looked so cute.

Haeschen I hope you get some news from Brighton. I used to live in Reading. It's not bad. Only takes 25 minutes to get to Paddington Station.

That's exactly the reason why Reading would be an alternative although my boss already said that the city as such sucks (he studied there). I still hope I will get this ****ing letter :sneaky2:

Haeschen - It must be nerve-racking to wait for a letter to control your destiny. I'm glad to hear Amy's better though - guess not all her feistyness left if she's peeing on Arndt's blanket. :naughty:

It really is annoying. I run to the mailbox every day only to find it empty again  . Today I even stalked the mailman. Still nothing

  14. Have I missed anything over the last few days? Not official yet, aren't we? Everything else would have surprised me beyond believe :wink2: .

Amy finally had her surgery yesterday. Fortunately everything went well this time and they also checked her blood. She is perfectly alright. So there's nothing wrong with her heart or anything. Today she is the most cuddly cat and doesn't behave like my Amy at all :wink2: . She has to wear one of these plastic collars which really annoys her but otherwise I think she's ok. The only problem is that she doesn't use her toilet anymore  . Arndt has already banned her from the bedroom because she peed on his blanket last night :naughty: .

I'm a bit worried about my study plans right now. The friend I want to go to Brighton with got her acceptance the day before yesterday and I haven't heard anything from them yet. I'm afraid that I might be declined because I'd really love to go there. I hope I'll get a letter within the next few days. Otherwise I have to think of an alternative. Maybe Reading of something like that. Don't know

  15. Wow, I have not been on here for a while. Work and end-of-the-year stuff has kept me so busy! So busy in fact that I haven't even been able to figure out what to wear to see Katy Perry on Thursday. So I thought maybe I'd ask you apples for help. Yop especially, if she is still around, 'cause if I try to get her an autograph I don't want to embarrass her. :blush-anim-cl:

    Ok, so option 1:

    greenyellowshoes.jpg

Or with beige (as opposed to yellow) slippers?

    greenbeigeshoes.jpg

I'm not going to wear this, but it would be funny.

    Or option 2:

    pinkblackdress.jpg

With this jacket in case it gets chilly:

    pinkblackdressjacket.jpg

 Help me decide, o ye wise apples!

    --Jack

I like option 2 although aption 1 is also very stylish. Nevertheless I'd go for 2. Have fun at the concert :wink2:

  16. Ok, she sounds either very temperamental or stressed out over something.

    What breed is she btw?

A heart problem could mean she's very anxious or nervous about something. So, do you have other pets? Or has there been a change in the household setup etc? Moved house, new resident, new pet?

It sounds to me that until you work out what's wrong, you need to only pat when approached.. So if she attacks when she approaches you, you might need to discipline her. Nothing nasty. Just a little ear flick or pinch. Or the water spray trick.. Then ignore her. I'm not keen on discipline but sometimes it needs doing so that she knows what she's doing to you hurts. It's like teaching a 3 year old not to touch the hot pot on the stove top... So only do it if you absolutely feel you have to.

Or if she's being a bitch because she thinks she can, then you need to completely ignore her and don't spoil her.

Or if she's trying to get more attention because things are changing (new pet, new person in house etc) then you need to talk to her but don't touch her.. maybe give her a toy to play with... But try to keep that bond.

But, knowing the breed and other animals/home situation might help pinpoint the problem a bit more.

She's a "normal" European Short Hair cat (I hope that's the right expression). I don't have any other animals and she just moved here about 6 weeks ago. She lived in a very small room before so she might still suffers from that.

A stupid question: How do I flick her ear? I'll try to remember it the next time. Yesterday morning I was just so shocked that I went to bed again crying :blush-anim-cl: . I really hope her behaviour will improve soon as I don't want to give her away again. I'll go to the vet again tomorrow. Wonder what she will say.

Haeschen sorry about your crazy kitty. I fostered a female cat like that. She was extremely ill and all her kittens caught the same virus and died. She went into heat again before she was strong enough to have surgery. In short her hormones were all over the place so she was a mess.

Hopefully once Amy gets fixed she'll calm down a little bit and her behaviour will become more manageable. Some cats are just perpetually bitchy though. That's why I've never had females until recently because I've never seen that with males myself.

The two females I've had were both purebred because I wanted them to have specific temperaments and they were both pretty true to type. I have an ocicat female now and she's very hyper and high maintenance but would never intentionally hurt anyone.

I already wondered if Amy is about to go into heat again and therefore is more bitchy than usual. I mean I think I could manage a bitchy cat but not one that constantly scares me  . She was really improving until the middle of this week. Then she started to be more aggressive again. I really don't know what I'm doing wrong

Thanks Jack. She's much better. We celebrated with a Mommy-and-Emily Day yesterday with shopping and a movie. She resumed her keyboard lessons and ready for school again tomorrow. :cheerful_h4h:

Good to hear that Emily is better. You sound like fun as a mother. Shopping and movies can cure many wounds :naughty: .
