Not first, but hello

Still not sure how it works, but try the following:

Go to the Group Membership box, click 'Join Social Groups', then click on name of the group you want to join and then there scroll down and you'll find a link 'Join Group' on the bottom in that brown bar...

I don't know, until now I haven't joined a group, just created one LOL

Maybe try 'join group' in that user group box on the right on your profile site...?
