  1. He's on at 4pm? That early? Perfect! I can arrive at 3.30 and leave at 5.00. Festivals, especially UK ones (usually wet, muddy and cold) are not really my thing! I'm making an exception as it's Mika and in London, and I hope his new music doesn't disappoint me, although I have a few worries on that count too... Sara has made me all nostalgic for the ICA/Somerset House days, or even before that, when it all seemed so much more fun :mf_rosetinted:

  2. It's mainly dj orientated, and most likely in favour of those who go regularly to the club nights, so I would imagine it will have a big show of people who go there. Although Mika is headlining, it iis primarily a This Is Circus line up, thus the crowd that go there will be who they'll cater for.

That said, I am looking forward to seeing Mel Blatt from All Saints, and Little Boots dj set, as well as Mika.

I know. I think I'll aim to arrive three seconds before Mika takes the stage to avoid having to endure the DJ/club crap. I don't have a VIP ticket so won't be at the front anyway!

  3. I bought a normal ticket. Therefore while you lot are down the front, and presumably have access to state-of-the-art toilets, and a restaurant serving champagne and caviar, I will be in the plebs compound at the back, peeing into a hole in the ground, and eating a ham sandwich. :tears:

  4. :teehee:

I hope you could do some sightseeing at least. For concerts I always choose countries and places I would otherwise also like to visit so that I don't get disappointed in case the gig gets cancelled.

Absolutely, Suzie. And St Petersburg was beautiful. I'm not sure that I'll be quite so thrilled to explore the delights of Hackney. In fact, although I've lived in London since I was born, I have yet to discover any delights in Hackney! :teehee:

  5. I was actually believing your post as I read it..............but sort of in disbelief at the same time :naughty:

Well, I thought I'd make the effort to go, even though it's - ooh - five miles at least from my house, and I think I might have to get two different tubes. After all, don't forget I am the person who went all the way to St Petersburg to take a photo of the poster for the gig that never was :roftl:

  6. It's £50 a ticket??? Do I want to spend that? It's a festival and I only want to see one artist on the bill  And because it's a festival it'll be a shorter set  And after EMD, and looking at the rest of the bill at this gig, I think Mika's gone all clubby and that might mean less good melodies  And it's England in June so it'll probably rain  And it's a weekend so public transport will be useless

    *goes to buy ticket* :roll1:

  7. Were you in Portugal?????

    Why haven't i met you??? :(

Aww. I'd love to have met you! Next tour I'm sure we'll meet! :biggrin2: Yes I was there, but it was all a bit of a rush... I'd been on holiday and flew home to the UK Friday morning, went straight from Gatwick airport to work, and then Saturday went back to Gatwick and flew to Porto. I arrived at the gig quite late so didn't queue or meet anyone :aah: Unfortunately I arrived just in time to get soaked to the skin and endure Tindersticks though :teehee: I was standing towards to side, sort of near Rose, Kath, Yuls etc.

  8. Right, the world has definitely gone completely mad. As an experiment I tweeted mikasdog, and would you believe it that clever dog replied to me. Incredible! She can not only read, but she can type really well, even with those big paws! Next thing, she'll be driving the damn car! :teehee::roftl:

  9. Oooh...:wub2: This is so cool to see again! It's like a blast from the past!!!!

    Thanks so much.

In a way, it feels like yesterday when I was walking around the Blink Gallery exhibition, but in another way it feels like it happened in a different life.

Thank you for uploading the videos and bumping the thread!

Oh my, I can't believe it was more than THREE YEARS ago! What a lot has happened since then. For a start I have got older and totally not got wiser! :roftl:

  10. Lucky you!

I imagine he will write it in English and it will have to be kind and fine translated, then it will be posted on here and kind and fine translated back and bearing in mind he tells a lot of porkies anyway, goodness only knows what will come out of it....

Mmm. The combination of Mika's quirky comments, his unique spelling, and translation into Italian and then back into English - the possibilities for some oddly peculiar reading are endless! :biggrin2:
