  1. Tickets came today! :thumb_yello:

And my work just informed me that I have to go to Amsterdam two days before the Paris gig. And to Paris two days before the Amsterdam gig. Why can they not organise themselves properly to take into account my Mika travels? :teehee:

I think I will just reserve a plot at the airport! :biggrin2:

  2. I don't get it either, I want to know as well. :dunno: Is it to get people to buy the soundtrack?

A hit single would be the best ever promotion for both the film and the soundtrack, so that's not the reason...

I would imagine the reason is total lack of planning and co-ordination between the various parties involved.

But that's just me being sceptical and exasperated. Which of course is totally out of character. :teehee::teehee::teehee:

  3. I'm just wondering how this is going to be the hit it deserves to be...

Hardly anyone who goes to see the film will hear it because they'll have left the cinema by the time it's played over the final end credits.

If people who have seen the film then buy the soundtrack, at least they'll hear it, but then as they'll already have it anyway, they won't buy the single in its own right.

And radio play seems at best minimal.

Are there any posters up anywhere - I don't mean film posters, I mean posters for the single - so people (apart from us lot) actually know the song exists? :dunno:

I'd hate to see a good opportunity for Mika slide away...

  4. Just realised I could use my car to promote it! It's a Ford KA, and it's one of the special editions with the name on both sides as well as the back. So on the sides I can add an MI to the KA, and on the back I can add ICK after the K and SS after the A.

Et Voila. A MIKA KICK ASS car! :thumb_yello::roftl:

  5. Yeah the paris gigs are SPECIAL...been wondering today the same thing aswell...wonder if it's about the size of it or if there's something else.

    Perhaps a new DVD? :fisch:

Of course Paris will be special because...

    IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!!!

    :woot_jump::woot_jump::woot_jump:

  6. Well I am completely confused (I know it doesn't take much...:wink2:)

If I go directly into iTunes and type in Kick Ass, I seem to only be able to buy the Kick Ass (We Are Young) single as part of the album.

If I go in via the MS link, I can get the EP with the other two Mika tracks. Due to having tourettes of the fingers I now seem to have pre-ordered it three times :roftl:

  7. I hope that doesn't mean that I See You won't be released as a single in its own right - I flipping love that song and was kinda dreaming it would be the next single to be released from the album :emot-sad:

I don't think any more singles should be released off TBWKTM. We have Kick Ass in May, but I think it would be a better career move if after that there was no new single until he has new material.

  8. It was asked on this thread before so let me post an update on the songwriters of Kick-Ass.

Mika, Jodi Marr and the Red One (i.e. Khayat Nadir) all share credits on it.

And does anyone know - where was the video done? I think I asked before on some thread somewhere but I've forgotten where, so I can't find the answer, or even the question! Maybe I just imagined the whole thing.

  9. I've been trying to get people to watch Kick Ass as much as I can :roftl:

    These customers are a couple...

Customer 1: I wanted to see Nanny McPhee, can we still go in?

Me: No 'fraid not, it started 15 minutes ago.

Customer 2: Damn...what else shall we see? Shutter Island?

Customer 1: No we've got ages to wait then...

Me: Well what sort of films do you like?

Customer 1: Well we don't really mind to be honest.

Me: Well there's this new film out called Kick Ass...

    :roftl::roftl:

    Just doing my job! :teehee:

As a fan or as a staff member of the cinema? You decide xD

You're getting as bad as me and my Kick Ass worldwide email blitz! :roftl::roftl::roftl:

  10. I've been on my own at work most of this week so have had the radio on constantly - listening to various different radio stations. I haven't heard the Kick Ass single once. Is anyone playing it? If not, I might be forced to start my own radio station, which I really don't know how to do :roftl:

  11. 50 doesn't seem as bad though, because you've already passed the milestone of being 30. I think there's something cooler about being 50...it's like you develop a certain elite-ness.

Guess I'll have to wait and find out. :lol3:

No. Believe me. 30 was a doddle. 50 is sh*t. And the thing is, you never realise quite how sh*t it's gonna be till you get there! You get wrinkles and things. Yuk. And you start thinking about your health, which is something I never thought about AT ALL till now because it just didn't figure on my radar at all. And to make matters worse, apparently it's all downhill from here...

My mind, however, has not kept pace with my body and still thinks it's about 25. So whereas some 50 year olds are digging their gardens and worrying about their pensions, I will just continue to grow old disgracefully! :biggrin2:
