  1. Awwww. I only just read this latest plan and Sara's PM. I already cancelled my hotel and the onward flight to Madrid and so on. Er, but I'm gonna check Eurostar's site now.

... and it's £179  so I'm still not going because that's just way too much for me

Sara, I hope you make it there in time for the gig, and have the BEST, BEST time. :thumb_yello:

  2. Oh I knew nothing could stop the decadent one. :roftl:

Enigma, quick, go with Sara! She will get there, come hell or high water...or volcanic ash.

  3. I just made a major decision.

Barcelona will be an Enigma-free zone, because if I don't cancel the airport parking and the hotel NOW, I can't get a refund, and I really don't want to lose that money as well as the ticket money! :badmood:

I still have a glimmer of hope that I can get to Madrid, but it's really only a glimmer. General concensus seems to be that this volcano situation isn't gonna change in the next few days. :hair:

Hope everyone who goes has a great time :thumb_yello: and please post lots of reports, pics and vids of the show so I can imagine I was there :biggrin2:

  4. Plan D might be that if a few flights go from the north of England or Scotland on Sunday, we could drive up and go from there, but with the backlog I guess getting on one might be nearly impossible! I see Ryanair have cancelled all flights out of the UK till Monday at the earliest. I'm just thanking God I have Eurostar booked to get me to Paris! :thumb_yello:

Will have a major think in the morning!

  5. It's looking grim. I've actually just booked yet another flight (direct to Madrid on Monday) in the hopes that the dustcloud might have dispersed or moved by then, and I might be able to go there and at least get to that gig, since I already have the return flight.

I just don't think I can spend that amount on a Eurostar, it would pay for several other gig tickets! And they keep saying on the news that it's nearly impossible to rent a car in Paris - or in fact anywhere in France - as they're all booked (mostly by Mika probably :roftl:), and even if you can get hold of one, the prices they're charging now are astronomical.

I don't know what to say. Mr Enigma (Spanish - in Ibiza right now) thinks that Madrid airport will probably be closed early next week as the cloud will be over there by then, in which case - how to get home again? He's a little ray of optimism as usual!

I'm going to get up at the crack of dawn tomorrow to assess the latest situation, but it's looking pretty rubbish right now. Going to eat chocolate now. That usually helps. :biggrin2:

  6. Oh gosh, I went out to dinner tonite to cheer myself up because clearly I am not going to be getting on any plane at Luton tomorrow, and I come home to find that while I was out, Sara has been trying to organise a Plan B!

I'd have been up for that (bus and hire car), but I guess I'm too late now. :aah: Should have stayed glued to MFC all evening!

Did the plan actually work out for any of you, or were the hire cars too expensive or all booked? If any of you do go, I hope you get there OK and have a fab time. :biggrin2:

I am totally gutted that I can't go to Spain :crybaby: but I will be there in spirit!

  7. i only complain the fact that he didn´t tweet or send a message from mikasounds or something like that,as i´m sure that there are so many people around him who knew how the caos was f*uckin the whole MFC... jimmy tweeted tonight, and mika would had be able to say just "sorry guys, volcano has changes our plans, but i´d really love to see you on 11th may".

just that. not so much work,i think....

Mika's job is to make the music and do the shows. It's not his job to inform people of cancellations. Yes, maybe SOMEONE should have put some information up somewhere, but as well as doing the gig last night, they were probably all busting a gut trying the reschedule the Lisbon gig, re-route to go direct to Barcelona, change hotels and travel plans, cancel any planned promo and re-schedule that, etc. I don't imagine any of them were sitting on their backsides doing nothing.

  8. Can we please stop saying the sky is falling because the airports will be closed? He's got two days to get to Barcelona and all the gear was going to travel by road from Lisbon to Barcelona anyway so there shouldn't be any problem.

I'm not worried about MIKA getting there. I'm sure he can! I'm worried about me and the other people going from outside Spain being able to get there!

  9. So sorry for everyone who was going to the Lisbon gig, and for Mika himself and everyone involved - this is just the sort of thing you DON'T need when planning and doing a tour!

I'm still praying the Spanish gigs are on and that I can still fly out of the UK to Barcelona and then back to the UK from Madrid, but it's not looking too good... ALL the UK airports are still closed, and now it's spreading across Europe.

    Boo to Iceland.

  10. I didn't think that today was a particularly good vocal performance of it, to be honest :dunno: His voice sounded a bit strained doing it, and the whole song felt kind of odd timed, sort of rushed, or something strange in any case

Overall, I think that BIOTG was his best performance of the day.

I agree! Not the best vocal he's ever done, but he seemed in a happy mood, and giggled a lot, so all must be fine in Mikaworld! :biggrin2:

    Thanks everyone for d/l links.:flowers2:

  11. I don't listen to these stations at all now but most of his recent BBC Radio interviews I recall were with Radio 2 - with a slightly older listener profile than Radio 1.

R1, R2, who cares - at least it's ON! And highly suitable listening for us old folks! :teehee: It's good it's in the morning because in the afternoons of course we go on our mobility scooters to B&Q to buy plants for our allotments, and in the evenings we fall asleep in our chairs. We have to conserve our energy for Mika concerts when we revert to being 17 again :biggrin2:
