  1. Yeah, you know I found lyrics on the internet called Mika is a ****er and well, basically they wanted him to die, saying he's a rent boy and a gay dog rapist. It actually made me very sad...

That's sick and cruel. There are too many of these type around; I've read things that I probably shouldn't, as it gets me upset. Why don't people just leave others alone?! I know that it's happening all over. I just don't get it.

  2. When I was looking for Lily Allen lyrics (No, no Mika is still number one) :blush-anim-cl: I stumbled over another lyric that was called Mika Haters.

Made me really sad, because it was so mean.

When I read it i tried to think about it the way Mika does when he compares his music to Marmite, you either hate it or love it.:mf_rosetinted:

But then again, could'nt stop have an uncomfortable feeling about this.

At first, i can't understand how anybody can hate Mika, he is not doing any harm.

And second: Not to care about someone's music is one thing, but to go through the effort making lyrics about it and put it on the net?

I won't put the link up here because I don't want this crap to spread but the name of the site is LyricsZZ.com.

I was thinking of make a thread about this, but I agree with sariflor, don't make a big deal of things that are negative for Mika.:sneaky2:

Are you sure it's the Mika we are all here for? There are a number of Mika's.

  3. Lily Allen, daughter of Hell's bar-prop Keith, is not short of a sense of self-assurance. Ms Allen, top, swanned into the snappy new members' club Shoreditch House with an entourage of stately, affluent-looking ladies in African headdresses. The first person to greet her was the camp chart-topping popstrel Mika, below.

"He was fawning all over her, it was embarrassing really," says my barfly, gagging into her Mojito. "He introduced himself and was really deferential. Lily couldn't have cared less."

Flapping around for small talk, Mika remembered the occasion Lily had got friends to carry her out of a nightclub in a sack. He said: "So, you're not wearing a Habitat carrier bag tonight ..."

Lily Allen: "And you're not in drag for once."

I have no idea what this is about...:mf_rosetinted:

I like her music. However, I read that she can be rude and nasty. He's not alone, and he deserves better.

  4. lol! maybe i should take that out? lol! I think i can get you video off youtube buti thin its easier if you send it to me in an e-mail.

I am technically challenged. However, I will give it a try. When does it have to be in?

  5. I am so glad that he liked it. My card and message wasn't great, because it was the first card I ever did from the computer. I gave Mika another card when I met him at GMA. However, I saw the album, and it's true, you are all so talented, and did so much work. Kudos to Avoca for fine-tuning things and packing it up so beautifully and professionally. I am really glad that Mika liked it. He deserves to be happy. He should know that collectively, our feelings match what was presented to him, each and every day. He is a sweetheart.

  6. Ladies and gentlemen, I now present:

    The Mika Fan Club e-Magazine!

    Some notes:

    1) The magazine is in Adobe PDF format, so you'll need either Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader installed on your computer to open it. If you don't already have that software, you can download it here:

    http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

    2) I tried to make sure that I credited everyone who contributed - if I missed anyone, I'm very sorry!

    3) There's a crossword included, but it's not interactive; you'll have to print it to fill it out, unfortunately

    4) Keep in mind that, being the first issue, there might be some "bugs" to work out - things like this are always evolving.

The download link (it's kind of a big file, it may take a while:

If that one doesn't work, try this one:

    Cheers, and enjoy!

A note about viewing - Read this:

In order to view it "magazine style" as it should be, follow these instructions when you open it:

    1] View -> Page Display

2] Ensure the "Two Up Continuous" and "Show Cover Page During Two Up" options are checked

It should then show in spreads, as it would if you were holding a hard copy in your hands.

    Thanks!

You and the others did a wonderful job! I commend you. Perfecto. :)

  7. I'm pretty sure it was cool to film your own stuff @ the studios, otherwise they would have been like HIGHLINE and not allowed pics or any of that... so here it is... some more footage... one true media sort of just jumbled it all together so its about 15 minutes worth... cute stuff though:blush-anim-cl:

Thanks for sending this. However, I was unable to get more than about 45 seconds. Is there something I should do?

  8. idk if this is up, but:

i went to the "future listings" on my digital cable and found out that FOXRC is going to re-air Mika's performance on 'So You Think You Can Dance.' (they're going through all of the shows of this season like they've done with 'American Idol Rewind.')

i don't know how everyone elses' cable/tv stuff works, but it's a heads up.

    info

    digital cable provider: comcast

    when: aug. 8/14, tomorrow!

    time: usa central, 2:30-3:30 p.m.

i don't have a lot of answers, but feel free to ask me anything and i'll go ask my tv :biggrin2:

I seem to be a day late for everything. :( Oh well.

  9. probably sound stuff, so he can hear things better. presenters have them and everything.

the notes are the sweetest thing? he did a gig later on that day just for those who stood out in the rain waiting for him to perform, AND he sung a new song called Century Man.

Now THAT is sweet, and proves he really cares about us.

haha, i think he's been reading this forum and one thread in particular :naughty:

EDIT: I've looked at the pictures again. I've no idea what those things in his ears are. I'd say that maybe they are for his ear infection but I in fact have no clue..

Singers often wear something in their ears so they can hear the band without any extraneous noise, much like head sets used for iPods. It's not quite the same, but I can't explain it any better. They sometimes wear them if they are performing and a director wants to tell them something. I might be a little off in the explanation, though.

  10. Us Americans have bad taste when it comes to music...

I totally agree. So many are stuck in their ways, in numerous areas. This is especially so over the last few years. It's just what Mika says in Grace Kelly. It's mainstream or nothing. We won't give up, though. :)

  11. Carrie, that was actually me, LOL! :naughty:

    Welcome, I'm Kate, too!

I know, and I wouldn't forget you. You are a sweetheart. I will never forget how cute you were. I met this other Kate while on line at the second gig. I'm a Kate magnet. Wha??!! She and her sister were experiencing the cold and rain together and I joined in. At least at GMA, we had some cover.

  12. Hey! My name is Kate. I've been a fan of Mika's for quite some time now! I just learned about this site from another fan at his show yesterday, however. I'm really glad she told me about it, it's great!

I've seen Mika 3 times now. I think he is the most talented vocalist around these days. I heard about him through work. We have a music subscription service and get to hear new music months before it comes out! "Relax, Take It Easy" was the first song I heard and I was hooked. I'm happy to meet you all. xo

Hi Kate. I met you on the line in the rain. We scattered once we got inside. I was in the second row in the ballroom, and was looking for someone short to stand behind. I am so happy that you have joined the fan club. It's the best anywhere. Welcome!!!! :)

  13. Hey, I just joined this board (finally!) after being a Mika fan since about January when I caught his video for "Grace Kelly" on tv.

Also, I was at his performance in Times Square yesterday, but I got stuck out in the rain, like many. I did, however, get to go to his other show down at the Highline later on in the afternoon which was one of my favorite concert experiences so far.

Anyway! My name is Becky, I'm 22 and I live in New Jersey. I'm pretty easy to get along with and I;d like to meet more Mika fans (and even some of you that I talked to in line yesterday!) so, feel free to leave me a message.

Becky, hi and welcome to the best fan club on the planet. You will like it here. :)

  14. Cynthia, you are amazing. You could really do this professionally. You have the people skills and you exhibited such confidence throughout this incredible experience. You also have the skills to be a private investigator. You got through a line of security people who started looking up to you. I have a second cousin who is a private investigator. I felt like I was reading a manuscript for a book. Did you ever get the shirts? Are they the ones you mentioned through PM's? Anyway, you had a priceless experience. Good for you.

  15. Oh, and I was thinknig about this on the train, too! Important. VIP made all of this possible for me. Seriously, I am so, so, so, so appreciative of Freddie, Sivan, Caz, Dean and everyone who made it possible. This is a day and feeling I will never, ever, ever, ever forget and an extremely special thing to me in its entirety. I hold this day close to me, I really do. I will value it forever and it would never have happened without you guys.

Gee, you really say what I think very well. :) I too will always be grateful.
