Yes Queens music is so emotional , I think Mika could be the same but he needs a few more albums under his belt

I read that Brian May was supposed to perform with her, but backed out at the last minute. He reportedly said that there was not enough notice, and that he needed to work on his doctoral thesis.

Freddie was and is my hero , I thought nobody could top him , after thursday he has the potential to be a big a star for me two things

 

1) His second album needs to be strong

 

2) The ability to step up and play to stadiums

 

I agree. I would like to see Mika make it big in the US. He should get "Stuck in the Middle" and "Erase" on the airways. If people really like them...how can they not...they will want to hear more. I have read a lot of the posts. When I heard Mika, I thought of Freddie, though their voices are different. I couldn't move while he sang. I really knew that this would be someone special. As was stated elsewhere, it is the charisma. It is also the mesmerizing effect he has on people. Freddie and Mika both love, and want to include, the audience. They love campiness. Listen to Freddie's earlier music, when he played the piano often. Actually, I really think that Mika's playing on SITM, sounds a lot like Billy Joel. Although I mention this, I in no way mean that their overall sound is the same. Freddie and Mika...both passionate about their work, are perfectionists, opinionated, brilliant. One of the great things about Mika, is the fact that his interviews are great. Freddie didn't like doing interviews. Although it certainly wasn't obvious during performances, Freddie was shy outside of the friendships he had. They both instill an energy that seems to invade you. I thought of Freddie when I heard and saw Mika...not live. I did because no one has made me feel this passionate about someone's music since Freddie. Mika has the potential to fill a gap that has been missing since Freddie. I have a huge selection of the CD's, videos, and DVD's, and even books. No one can replace Freddie. That will happen with Mika, in his own right. I know that Mika will make it. My mind takes a vacation when I hear them. I don't think about how much work I need to do for my job, nor do I worry about what is happening in the world, within reason. As far as stadiums...I would love to see and meet him before that time. He will not be able to do that when his audience is immense. Lastly, Mika is a solo performer, and Freddie was part of Queen, although for me, none of the others ever came close to Freddie. However, they all brought something special to their overall sound, and their songwriting was good. Mika wowed the crowd with his Love Today, extended version. I saw it on You Tube, but it must have been incredible, to say the least, to those who were there. Mika will get there. Freddie knew he would make it, even before he came close to doing so. Mika has that confidence, and with his talents, he will be a living legend. [/color]

Maybe he's been feeling too ill to stay after the performances. Even when well, he must be exhausted after an active show such as his. If he does see his fans, he should at least have a chair if he needs to sit.

The concert will start at 7 AM. During the concert, people from GMA will talk to Mika. There is one concern: The GMA website did not list Mika as playing on 8 /10. Does anyone have updated information?

Some of us were thinking of getting up a petition to ask that this fan club be regarded as Mika's official fan club, and therefore we can get information about events, so that situations like today, when people were told only a few hours before a gig that they could go WITHOUT a ticket, are less likely to happen.

If we can get the petition supported by as many people as possible, we will get it printed out, and will present it to Jerry (Mika's manager) and a copy to Mika as well, at the Glasgow concert in November - where there will be a 20+ contingent of MFC members!!

Eil.com says that in Europe it will cost 40.87€ + postage. Usually 5-10 euros.

I just purchased it through Amazon.com, for those of you in the US. I wasn't even looking for it there, but since I have purchased so many of Mika's CD's to give out, it was on the home page. I'm sure that it is also at Amazon.co.uk. I'm so excited. It was $27.99, which is about half of what they were asking on eil.com.

Is it going to be available for the US fans too? I would definetely buy it.

That's just what I would like to know. If not, I'll get it through amazon.co.uk. If it's only offered in the PAL format, I'll convert it, or I'll buy a new DVD player that plays PAL and NTSC. I've gotten DVD's and books on Freddie Mercury there.

In Paris during the show at the OLYMPIA the concert was record. At the end of the show I was interviewed for the bonus! The DVD will be sale in NOVEMBER!!!!!!!

How exciting for you! You must be flying high! I was thinking about a DVD on and off for the past few weeks. I haven't seen him live yet. I purchased the videos on iTunes, but this would be so much better. I hope that it's released in NTSC format, and not just PAL. I had to convert several Queen...mostly Freddie...DVD's from PAL to NTSC. Not every place will do that. I'm not sure why. It isn't as if I was copying them in bulk. This is such good news. Thanks for sharing.

I am a huge fan of unique rock merchandise. Now that Mika is one of my favorite artists, I'd like to see him market some completely useless trinkets for me to waste my money on! Really, he could put his name on nearly anything, and I would buy it. (Sad, but true)

 

Since he is fairly new at the merchandise thing, I think we should give him some ideas. For starters, I would be glad to offer up my homemade badges for him to sell at concerts, especially if I got a cut of the sales.

Beth Ditto, she's definatly big girl of the year. I havent met her yet, but I keep dropping hints for it to happen. I'm a big fan of hers.

I've been attacked by a dog before. It was someones pet dog, but it wasen't a very nice one. I was wearing a lot of dangly pendents and I think it just thought I was a great big toy for it to play with. So it just went for me.

I dont get Sienna Miller~she's bland. She's a follower. David Beckhams style isn't my cup of tea either, he's a bit of a male model. He looks like his wife chooses his clothes. And Russel Brand should definatly wash his hair more often.

I just realized that I posted to you twice. As far as I know, anyone can go. Mika will be up on a platform. He will be interviewed by GMA hosts, and will sing. They have done this a lot with other celebrities. I don't know if they will have increased security, as they are elsewhere. I might go on the GMA site.
