The Kooks en Argentina

The Kooks es una banda de indie rock que tiene sus origenes en el Reino Unido hace no muchos años atrás. Su primer disco de estudio oficial fue “Inside in/Inside Out” que se lanzó recién en 2006 (hace menos de 3 años) y que llegó en pocas semanas a ser número uno en las radios y en las ventas de todo el Reino Unido.

De hecho el disco alcanzó por sus ventas espectaculares tres veces el status de disco de platino, vendiendose más de un millón de copias en el Reino Unido (recordemos que es el disco debut de una banda nueva… son cifras inalcanzables incluso por varias bandas con tiempo en el ambiente).

De la mano de su último material de estudio, llamado “Konk” y lanzado en 2008, viene The Kooks a Argentina y se presenta en el cálido ambiente de La Trastienda Club.

La Trastienda

La Trastienda Club es un medio cultural por donde desfilan cientas de bandas argentinas en crecimiento por año y otra decenas de bandas consagradas del exterior. Es un espacio cultural que promueve shows de todo tipo desde hace ya quince años en el centro de la ciudad de Buenos Aires.

El club La Trastienda tiene lugar en San Telmo (uno de los barrios reconocidos turísticamente por el Tango y la oferta cultural), en la calle Balcarce al 460. Tiene espacio para unas 700 personas, brindando a los artistas un clima especial y un ambiente íntimo entre sillones estilo living, mesas, barras, y demás.

Hasta La Trastienda se puede llegar con los colectivos 2, 4 A, 22, 24, 28 A y B, 29, 33, 50, 54, 56, 61, 62, 64, 74, 86, 91, 93, 99, 103, 105, 111, 126, 129 D y F, 130, 142, 143, 146, 152, 159, 195 A, y con los subtes de la Línea A (Plaza de Mayo), D (Catedral), y E (Bolivar).

This is silly but I've been picturing you as Olivia Newton John's role Sandy.

I recently discovered I own 'Grease' and so I decided I was going to watch it for like my 100 time in english-no subtitles and for the first time I really put attention to the plot, thing I realised I never did before because I was only watching the movie for the musical part and Sandy comes from Sydney, she's Australian, I mean I've always known that Olivia is Australian but I never noticed that her role Sandy is Australian as well because most of the times, I've seen the movie in spanish, because they have passed that movie many times on the local telly and I have to watch it and second because the first times I saw the movie, which are the most important ones, I was too young so I didn't care about translations, thing that I absolutely hate now and in spanish you just can't do an Australian accent, can you? they obviously mention Sydney somewhere but like I said, I didn't care for the story, until now and now I noticed that she has that lovely accent and she's Australian and this is silly because now when I hear Australia I totally connect it to you, plus you have her hair style and the lovely accent.
