  1. One good thing that came out of this, was that quite a lot of UK fans had emerged, that I haven't noticed before, and i had nice conversations with a few. So I'm hoping I can navigate them this way, with a bit of luck.

Well said. It is sad that his appearance on Pointless Celebrities has been spoiled, in a way, by people worrying about the negative comments. The one about his career being over, may seem harsh, but for many years in the UK, that's how it has seemed, to people who are not familiar with Mika's other work abroad. But the fans who retaliated in a really bad way, are also, not doing Mika any favours. As his fans, we need to be above such retaliation, after all, if Mika had continued to do TV, gigs and performances in the UK, no one would be saying that his career was over.

As you say, it has got Mika noticed again by him being on UK TV. Let's hope he doesn't waste this exposure. Let's hope he plans more things in the UK for this year, to continue his return to fame in the UK.

  2. The thing is, famous singers do get negative comments. 10 years ago, when people were spreading the hate, I used to get really upset. Now I don't. Those people are a minority and people who watched the performance, can judge for themselves. He sang a beautiful cover, and 10 years ago, despite the haters, he sold millions of albums.

No one takes notice of internet trolls. I'm just glad he was trending on Twitter!

  3. It's a good sign that they played Sinfonia Pop, as it's not an older performance. :) I'm hoping he gets more attention here...

I couldn't have said it better myself. For him to get attention in countries, apart from Italy and France, is very promising. The fact that they showed newer concert, with not just LICM songs, is good too.

With his UKTV appearance on Saturday night, this is a great start to 2017!

  4. The bonus songs are  Good Wife and Stardust  which you can only find in the DVD menu when you chose the option "song by song" but is not included in the concert if you play it all

I haven't played the  audio yet, so I don't know if the bonus songs are included or not... if you're asking about the DVD :dunno:

RAI2 did a better job with the concert than the French channel as  there was only one song from the original concert missing in the RAI2 version  (Good Wife) whereas the <French cinema version had cut both Good Wife and Stardust and there were even less songs left on the TV version

Thank you for telling me. I did mean the DVD

  5. Just when I had given up on him, regarding the UK. This is great!! Now we have to hope for a decent song, one that has a really good tune. Not Rain, too screechy, not Celebrate, too boring, not TAY, too much like what people expect from Mika. Something like Good Wife would be brilliant, or better yet, No Place In Heaven. Mika needs to show his skills as a singer and songwriter, not the happy clappy Mika whom people expect, but the beautiful singer and songwriter.

  6. I don't think anyone would want Mika to do something, just because we might want it to happen. I'm also aware that he's more than just a pop star, and has many talents to his name.

Sometimes it sucks when we hear of a TV show in Italy, because we know how good he would be, if he did the same type of show in (say) the UK.

What I do now, is keep an eye on his career, but I have interests elsewhere now. That is the best thing to do. It's no use waiting for Mika. It's best to enjoy someone elses career and not worry about what Mika is doing.

If he comes back to the UK and does something good, I'll be there, but I'm not hanging around waiting for him.

  7. I've only seen Mika once and it would be so lovely to see him again, but it's difficult as he rarely comes to the UK.  He's been to Scotland before and promised to return, but he hasn't been here since 2010.  I'm hoping he'll do another London gig soon, but even then I may not be able to go.  I'm going to university next year so, even if he does return to London, I may not be able to travel to see him as I'll be studying.  To be honest, I'm beginning to doubt that I'll ever see him again, and that breaks my heart a little. :tears:

Of course I understand that the situation is worse for fans from Australia and New Zealand, who would have to travel even further to see him.  I respect Mika's decision to concentrate on France and Italy, but I have to admit it's extremely unfair on fans from other countries. :(

    Just my thoughts.

I remember, back in the day, when Mika was touring, non stop, and in many countries. I don't say he should tour like that again, but I think it would be great if he announced something for next year, his 10th anniversary. Being in the North of England, we are as badly off as Scotland. If he performs in London at the weekend, I can't go. I can't afford to go on the Friday and stay until Monday, but the weekdays are the only days that the trains run straight through. Weekends are a nightmare, I've tried it twice and it nearly killed me.

I wish for a Manchester gig, or somewhere easy for me to get to, but I doubt it will happen.
