  1. Love this part! ;)

    Here is another :)

Sold my sword, broke my vows, tell me what did I get?

Killed for you, lied for you, why don't you pay your debt?

    Oh could you behead me?

    I'm not even guilty

    You should be realising

    That winter is coming

    Love the lyrics

  2. i just finished season 5 a couple weeks ago so for now i'm caught up, but once season 6 starts i'll be behind again and won't come in this thread for a while. i know no theory about Jon Snow's parents, maybe i should look into this :teehee:

Marilyn, i love the song xD  And i agree about Tyrion, he's my been favorite since the beginning :D

Well I won't give away the theory as I wouldn't want to spoil it for you, if it's true.

Basically, the thought is that Ned Stark isn't Jon's father. He lied to protect someone else.

I'm glad you like those lyrics. We could do with completing the song. Mika is singing it of course, as a GoT character

I was born  in the North where the sun doesn't shine

Far away from King's Landing where Queen Cerci drinks wine

I am good with a sword, well how hard could it be?

Pray every day in the godswood by the old Wierwood tree

Someone else might think of more. I love what has been written so far, especially about not trusting Walder Frey.

  3. I'm definitely excited!

Jon getting stabbed is where the books left off... so none of us know for sure what's going to happen next. However, if you remember in the third season, we met Thoros of Myr, a red priest, who resurrected Beric Dondarrian after The Hound killed him. So... there are possibilities.

I also believe 100% in the L+R=J theory, and something in the trailer has made me think they'll reveal that this season, but I don't want to risk spoiling anything, and I could be wrong.  :fisch:

I think that theory about Jon's parents is right. I never really saw Ned Stark as a cheating husband. He always had such strong principles. I think, this season, we'll know the truth about Jon's birth. They have said that he's dead though. But apparently, Barack Obama asked if John Snow was really dead.

If he is really dead, I think the Whitewalkers will be getting plenty of support from the fans when they attack Castle Black.

We seem to be Team Whitewalker on here at least.

  4. I had started  thread for GoT, not realizing there was already one. I thought no one was interested. I'm so glad there is interest as the show is coming back in a fortnight in the UK.

From what I can gather, the bad new is that Jon Snow is very dead indeed and won't be coming back. So I shall stick up for the Whitewalkers when they attack Castle Black and kill all that rabble who murdered Jon Snow.

I also thought about Promisland in regard to GoT. It's got to be the Westeros National Anthem for Mika-fans. What I got was...

    Give me the Iron throne

It is the crown I own

    And Tyrion, here, will be

    coz he's my mini-me

I've got no money in my pocket and they're sending me to the wall.

Maybe we can think of more words between us.

I love the show. It's the best thing on TV. I love all the characters, but my soft spot in my heart is for Tyrion. He's so brilliant and if anyone wants to know how to cope with bullies, they should watch how Tyrion deals with people twice his size, and makes them look really small.

I'm so glad there is a thread for this and I hope we'll have a great time on here, with the new season.

BTW My husband fancies Danerys. I think she'll win the Iron Throne in the end.

  5. I'm opening this thread to see if anyone else is interested in the best TV show ever made. I mean, the incredible, Game of Thrones.

It is coming back for a new season very soon. 24th April in fact, and I'm very excited about it.

If there is interest on this site, it would be great to be able to talk about the show, and the characters and episodes.

I'll tell you all how I got interested in this wonderful series.

My son got Sky Go, and I'd heard of the series and it sounded like something I would like. This was  March of last year, before the show came back for season 5. I watched the box sets on the channel and I was gob-smacked!

From the very beginning of each episode, with the best theme tune ever written and the sweep of the camera over the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros (so you know the locations of the action ad where everything is) we then move on to the episodes.

Each one (I'm not kidding about this) is like you have dipped in to a blockbuster movie. If you just turned it on and didn't know what you were watching, you would think you had tuned in to something like Lord of the Rings, except that LOTR took ages to make, and this is a TV show. There is no other TV show like this one.

The show gets better and better. We now have the most frightening villains, The Whitewalkers! They are really scary, but will be fantastic to watch, as they make their advance. They love the ice and cold..., and winter is coming!

I love all the characters, but the soft spot in my heart is for the wonderful Tyrian. He's a dwarf, played by Peter Dinklage, and he's such a great mixture of a tragic, but sometimes wisecracking and funny hero.

Anyway, since this is the first post, I'll wait to see if anyone responds, then we can talk more and really enjoy the next season together.

There's a show on Thursday evening on Sky Atlantic, about the story so far. Last night they showed the 20 most thrilling moments. The Red Wedding won, but that is for another post.

Hope to see some Throne Fans on here soon.

  6. The show is about classic songs, on the whole, not for him to promote his own songs.

Like the other shows where guest presenters play songs of different subjects, Will Young on dance songs from the 90s, Laura Brydon on female singers over the years, they didn't play any of their songs, just songs on the subject, just other artists that they like and admire.

That is what Mika is doing with this show.

Yes I realize what you say. What I meant was, it's a shame he can't perform his own songs. I know why he doesn't, on that particular show. But at least the occasional broadcast means he still has a toe in the UK. His little-toe of course, but it's better than nothing.

  7. Did not have time to listen to this before a bit later, but fghjklkjhgfghj, really it's just perfect   Especially the covers. They make me feel so good, I could listen to them forever  :fangurl:

I actually wish that when Mika performs on his radio show, he could perform his own songs. If he sang NPIH he would blow everyone away. The problem, for me, with some of Mika's covers, is that he doesn't adhere to the wise saying "Less is more". He messes around with them too much and feels he has to go high, even when there is no need. Also, sometimes, I have to say this, he does actually come across a bit whiney. So the comments about that, are not wrong really.

He has done some beautiful covers Let It Snow and Poker Face spring to my mind, but it would be better for him if he could promote his own work. No one can sing Mika's own songs like he can.

  8. There are always whingers on the R2 FB page, Funnily I wager some of the ones bleating on about Tony Blackburn, are more than likely the ones who would take the rise out of him, as he was very 70s orientated in his presenting style. It doesn't matter who presented today, because Tony wasn't doing it, they will whie about it.

I have to say, I did love the covers, but on I Only Want To Be With you, I felt he should have stayed in the mid range during the chorus. Otherwise it was great.

I totally agree. When Mika sang the first part of IOWBWY, in his low voice, he sounded wonderful. When he changed key, I have to admit, it didn't work for me. I wasn't all that keen on the other covers he did either. But his presenting was brilliant and his choice of music, really good. He did choose George Ezra, which was a contemporary song from the modern era, and one I really like. But whatever he chooses, some will like it, some won't. I don't think Mika, or Radio 2, will be loosing any sleep over a few miserable comments.

  9. Okay! American Pie.

At least part of the song refers to The Day The Music Died.

Buddy Holly was on a Winter tour, with several other big stars of the day. The Big Bopper (Chantilly Lace) and the teenager Ritchie Valenz (Donna, La Bamba)

They died when their private plane crashed. It was a real tragedy.

Mika just mentioned it right now. About Buddy Holly. At least part of it is about the plane crash and the loss of the talent that was destroyed .

BTW I'm like Mika's Mum, I'm diabetic. But I had some chocolate yesterday.

  10. If this this is the wrong section , could an admin move it? Thaaank you  :)  :thumb_yello:

After seeing Mika was at Radio 2 last week, I suspected it might be something to do with an imminent show, and blow me down, it is  :)

    MIKA presents music and chat.

    That's my Bank Holiday sorted.

He seems to be getting these holiday shows, doesn't he. I'm sure the New Year one was popular. He does a great job and chooses some awesome music. I'm looking forward to it.

  11.

Just back from @BBCRadio2 and watching Trevor Noah grilling Trump on The Daily Show. Noah is absolutely brilliant @TheDailyShow

It's hard to believe what he is saying/referencing is actually real. Gotta say I think Noah &Colbert are really the best to hosts around now

As much as I am interested in what he is saying about Trump, I am VERY interested in what he was doing at Radio 2 this evening.

    I had no idea!

When I saw the tweet I had to come on here to make sure it wasn't a rt from back-in-the-day.

He's actually been to Radio 2, in the United Kingdom!!!

    *Dies and goes to Mika-heaven*

  12. Yes, it's Fedez and I'm so sad to hear this :(

I feel like there are many UK fans who are still very invested in him yet they don't come on the MFC (as you said) because of his recent endeavours.

Seeing him on XFUK would be so awesome..

I wish there was a way we could get him to do more US and Australia and UK shows; I asked him in the livestream last month if he can come to Australia, but he said the issue is money and he needs promoters :/ so that's the problem. I don't see how he can't do more UK and US shows atleast, considering how fast his tickets sell out!

But surely if his people knew there was a demand, they could make it happen. I just said, on the Australian Petition thread, that I'd tweeted Mika to ask for another UK gig, and for him to also go to Australia and tour USA. On that thread, people from South America also said they want to see him. I said, maybe the countrymen and women of each country, who want to see him, need to seriously get tweeting, and rt the tweets they see. That way, he, and his people will know that he's wanted in other countries, not just Italy and France.

I'm @AlansGoodWife on Twitter, if anyone wants to rt my tweet

  13. Just so you all know I've tweeted to Mika again, to help with all campaigns. I asked for another UK gig and said Australia also wants you and you should also tour USA. Not just mainly gig in Italy and France.

I think the only way forward is for people of other countries who want to see Mika, to tweet him and tell him.

Americans and Australians and anyone else, round up your countrymen and women and get them to tweet and rt the tweets they see.

My new tweeter-name is @ AlansGoodWife, if you want to rt mine.

  14. I'm from Australia but I'd love for Mika to do xfactorUK!! I'll tweet him!

You guys should post about this in more threads!  :thumb_yello:

I tried to start a campaign about it. I even opened a new twitter account so I could. But only a couple of people tweeted and the campaign never got off the ground. The trouble is, we don't have enough UK fans here anymore. They've all gone their seperate ways and I don't blame them. I said in the Australian Petition thread, that I don't come on here as much, as I've been so disappointed with Mika and his neglect of the UK and other countries that arn't France and Italy. I actually, don't think he'll do the UKXF. Someone said he'd already said he was going to do Italy again with that guy Fedez (Is that his name?) the one he sang with on Beautiful Disaster.

I'd be thrilled if he did do XFUK. I really would, but I very much doubt he will.

Good luck with the Australian petition, but as I already said on the thread. A world tour, should be a world tour, not multiple gigs in Italy and France, and only one for the UK, and none in countries, in which he would benefit greatly from touring in, like Australia, UK, and USA.

  15. I feel for every country who wants him, I really do. But somewhere like Australia should be on his list of go-tos.

I've lost patience with him. I don't come on here anywhere near as much as I used to. I only come on here sometimes, because of the community I've been part of for so many years. But As for Mika himself, I've had enough of his obsession with Italy and France, to the, mostly, exclusion of other countries, including the UK, which gave him his start.

In the early days, he sang everywhere, and so many people could see him, but now he seems to be mainly exclusive to Italy and France.

I really hope you get your gigs, but for anyone to have to petition for Mika to play in their country, is not fair. If he's doing a world tour, then it should be a world tour, and not multiple gigs in Italy and France, with one gig for UK and none for somewhere like Australia.

He'd also benefit from trying to woo the United States. A proper tour there would help his fame there, and if you're big in America you've got it made everywhere else.

But Mika doesn't seem to want to see that kind of big picture, so I'm not bothered what he does now. Mostly, I've moved on.

  16. If Mika wants to do a symphonic concert in Korea, surely his team can arrange it. How hard can it be?

They just have to approach an orchestra to get them to play at the concert, and then arrange a venue. Not so much different from any other gig.

I hope your campaign succeeds, but why does everything to do with Mika playing anywhere but Italy and France, need the fans to keep on campaigning and begging for him to do it?

  17. What has happened, or been said, may be disappointing, but it is understandable. If Mika wants to be famous in the US, he has to do something more than a cameo in a movie. That is not going to get him any US fans, or raise his profile there.

So if he thought that being in Zoolander 2 was going to help his career, he has had another think coming (as we say in England) because it hasn't worked.

Mika definitely isn't perfect. Mika is infuriating.

He shouldn't bother with the movies, unless it's a much better, or bigger, part, but what I would say to him, if I could speak to him about it, is that he should stick to trying to get his music into the top movies. He's a musician, and it only takes one song to become popular in a big-budget movie, and Mika could have US, and world, success.

He should also have a proper tour in the USA. Not just small gigs here and there. He treats the USA the same way he treats the UK, and that's why he has no career in either country.

It's not important what Ben Stiller, or other actors think. It's their own opinions. Not worth getting upset about. The fact is, he doesn't know anything about Mika as Mika hasn't tried hard enough to get a career in the USA. He's too busy with getting a career in Italy and France.

  18. The UK entry is Joe & Jake "You're not alone"

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p03k9swh

I watched the show and I do like the winning song. I prefer Miracle, for myself, but YNA stands a better chance of winning and the two guys will appeal to the young people, and older people like myself will like them.

I think they probably had a fan-base from being on The Voice and that helped them to get the most votes. I had never heard of any of the others.

I will be rooting for the guys in May. I hope we manage to win.
