  1. If you go to their page, you'll see a blue button that says "Following" on the right of the screen.  Just click it and you'll be able to unfollow them.  Hope that helps.

    I followed you btw. :)

#UKWantsMika is fine, because it shows the UK public are desperate for more Mika in general.

I just tweeted Simon Cowell to ask for him to get Mika onto the UK X Factor. I used #UKWantsMika, so whatever people ask for, regarding Mika in the UK, that hashtag is generic enough and speaks the truth. Thanks for following me.

  2. Just to let everyone know I've set up a new twitter account. It was hard, because I get so confused with computer stuff, but my twitter is @AlansGoodWife

Lots of usernames were already taken.

To set it up I had to follow 40 people, but I don't want to follow them. How do you unfollow people on twitter?

I'll do some tweets tomorrow for our campaign.

Have we decided on a hashtag yet? In order for it to be a bit more generic and not just about X Factor, would it be better to use something like

#UKWantsMika. Then it can be for anything in the UK?

    What do we all think?

  3. I couldn't think of anything worse!

Like Sabine says , bringing him onto a show that is going down in the ratings, especially as it is done how Simon and ITV want it done, it's not like it is in Italy.

The Voice is changing channels, and I wouldn't be surprised if he might be poached for that.

Though I would much prefer him to do a documentary like Perspectives, where famous people do an episode on a particular subject in the arts that they are interested in. THAT I would watch.

look, the way I see it is that, at-the-end-of-the-day, it's up to Simon, or Mika. No one is tying them down and forcing them into anything. But look at it this way. Even if a twitter campaign does not result in Mika doing XFUK, the campaign itself may give him some publicity and let people know we still love Mika and want him in the UK.

This is just a great opportunity to do a Mika campaign and, who knows, he might end up doing the show. At least, if he doesn't, he would know UK haven't given up on him, so if he doesn't do XFUK, for whatever reason, it might encourage him to do another UK show. Perhaps, The Voice.

I agree that he'd be fantastic in a documentary, but at the moment he hasn't said he's doing one. It would be a good thing if he did one.

All I know, for the moment, is, if we sit back and do nothing we could loose this opportunity to do some fan-promotion using the X Factor vacancy as a theme.

If he did announce that he was on XFUK, I would be so thrilled I would practically take off and fly, as he would be on TV every week while XF was on the air.

  4. I´m not sure if it is a good idea to bring Mika to a dying TV Show in UK. XF seem to go down in UK

Mika could save the show. Imagine the publicity if he was on it. Especially since atm, people are talking about GK again.

Mika has put off commitments in other countries to do Italian X Factor and The Voice France, so surely, with enough notice, he could do X Factor UK. It's only the final twelve weeks that are live anyway, and he could still squeeze in the odd gig between the shows.

The thing is, it's no use asking Mika to do it. It's Simon Cowell who would have the decision. So he needs to know the UK wants Mika, BEFORE Mika decides to sign for Italy again.

Anyway, I'm so glad people have replied to my idea and that people want to help. I'm sure Italian fans would be okay with Mika doing our show in the UK. He's a big star in Italy now, thanks to their show.

A hashtag could be something like

    #UKwantsMika

    #Mika4XFactorUK

    #SimonPleaseChooseMika

    So let's get thinking.

That's just some ideas to get the brain-juices going.

We could certainly have a date for the hashtag. However it would be good to just do it as well, whenever we want to. The more things get onto Simon's twitter, the more they can be re-tweeted and he might take notice.

    X Factor's twitter is, I think,  @XFactor

    This is an idea.

I've read in the papers in the UK, that Nick Grimshaw has left X Factor UK and Simon Cowell is planning a re-vamp to get ratings.

Does anyone agree that it might be a good idea for people from the UK, to tweet Simon, to ask him to get Mika onto the UK X Factor?

Okay... I know the ratings haven't been good, but that could change if people could only see Mika.

I know it's a reality talent show. But Mika has done well out of reality talent shows in other countries.

If people from the UK, who have seen Mika in the show in Italy and know how good he is, tweet Simon Cowell (or get in touch some other way) it may just encourage him to realize that people do want Mika on the show.

It's a long-shot, but what have we, and Mika, got to loose.

WE just need him to be visible in the UK again.

Our twitter keeps playing up and Alan is going to get on to them about it. When it's fixed I'm going to tweet

    The twitter is @SimonCowell

    I think that's right.

We could have a hashtag. I can't think of anything snappy. Maybe someone could come up with something.

  6. Hi! I'm Anya (or Unicorn)

I'm from the west midlands (near londonish...)

Great to see some people from the UK!!

I've been on here a while now, but I just form this thread. :)

I'm one of the English reps here. If anyone from England has any questions or wants to talk, I'm here. Just click my banner and message me.

There's also a UK Promotion of Mika thread if anyone has any ideas to get him back on top in the UK.

  7. So he got tattoos and shaven arms for nothing??      Anyway, someone asked Ben Stiller about Mika, and this is the answer he gave: https://twitter.com/paramountfr/status/693068134782205952

This is exactly the reason I didn't get excited about this movie, and why I didn't want to see it. I knew Mika would not get a mention or any credit for it.

It was a waste of time him even being in the movie. He needs to stop faffing about with bits-and-pieces and concentrate on something awesome, to get his world-wide fame back again.

  8. I LOVE THE VIDEO SO MUCH THERE IS NO WORDS OH MY GOODNESS XD <3!!! Congratulations everybody, we actually did it XD <3!!! I'M SO PROUD OF YOU ALL <3<3!!! Thank you sooo much Rully for rescuing it, we couldn't have continued without you ;) :*!!! And a HUGE thank you to Marilyn Mastin for this genius idea, none of this could've happened without you, hope we did ya proud too <3<3!!!

I'm proud of everyone who did this. I hope it gets to Mika. Maybe, could it be posted on his twitter, or his facebook? That way, fans would see it too and hopefully, the man himself. It's just an idea. I don't understand what happened with Helen. No one here was nasty to her.

Mika releases music video with anti-bullying message

    (Screenshot courtesy of YouTube)

Mika dropped a new music video for “Hurts (Remix)” this week featuring an anti-bullying message.

In the video, the British singer helps three teenagers deal with verbal bulling. Together, they paint over a wall scribbled in insults written in Italian and English.

“Nothing’s only words, that’s how hearts get hurt,” Mika sings on the track.

“Hurts (Remix)” is included on the Italian deluxe version of Mika’s latest album “No Place in Heaven.”

Mika, who is gay, has spoken out about homophobia he has faced by posting pictures of posters with homophobic slurs on them on his social media accounts.

“I saw the photos and my instinct was not to do anything, because hatred, which I know very well, would be better off ignored,” Mika tweeted according to Pop Crush. “But let’s break the silence! I have no fear of those who discriminate against me—no one should. Love does what it wants.”

I'm very pleased about this. IN ENGLISH and great publicity.

Mika has done a good thing and it's great that people outside of Italy, and especially English-speaking people, are finding out about it.

  10. He said, like a doll, he was thinking about one of those https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eEi1Pb5Y28w

I used to have one with growing hair as a kid.

They were called Tressie dolls and the hair was pulled out by a kind of pin. However, after a couple of times the hair inside the head got stuck and poor Tressie ended up with her hair all different lengths. The dolls weren't on sale for long.

  11. ;) Did you watch the new live chat from Korea?!  I hope you did, or will do it - it's good...

    Love, love

    me

I've just watched it. It is very good. That's what I mean. It's so frustrating. The UK could easily get to love Mika again if he was more visible over here.

Maybe he should work with Arianna Grande again. She's really big in the UK now and it would help him.

But he'd do better to get onto a TV show over here. So people can see him again.

  12. That was really great. His show sounds amazing. I agree with what he said about beauty. You don't have to look gorgeous to be beautiful. I should know because I'm not gorgeous.

He's really good on things like this.

I hope he comes back to the UK soon, to give us all a happy life again.

  13. Here's a little message to Mika, from the UK

How did we end up like this

    Under our UK sky

    Mika you're never around

    UK are going to cry

You're pulling and our hearts are on the wire

And we ask you not to be so tough

We need Mika flame to start a fire

A Radio 2 spark is not enough

    We need English words

Sentences that end in "The UK"

    We need English words

    UK hearts are hurt

    We can't

    We can't

We can't help wishing you were in UK

We can't help wishing you were in UK

We can't help wishing you were in UK

    We need your English words

    UK hearts are hurt

How did it all come to this

    We started off as friends

    Grace Kelly was number one

    So was LICM

Once upon a time you were inspired

And we all could see you sing and dance

We're no longer basking in your fire

Now it's only Italy and France

    Give us English words

Please do not forget the dear UK

    We need English words

    UK hearts are hurt

    Chorus.

  14. Really? 5 more shows (or festivals) in Italy? :(

I mean, that's nice for the Italian fans offcourse! But I wish he would come to more other countries, so more fans are able to see him.

I agree and I have to say I'm getting sick of the UK getting Mika's dregs. I know it's the same for other countries who are not Italy and France.

I'm kind-of loosing my patience with him as he seems to not want to be popular in the rest of the world.

  15. Well you know, Mika says a lot of things... :mf_rosetinted: I believed this story when he told us, but really, if he wanted to do a gig here, he wouldn't have to rely on Marek Lieberberg, there surely are other options. When I asked him last July, he said we (as fans) can't really do anything and that it will all come back. Fact is, he is concentrating on France (french speaking areas) and Italy since 2013, with the occasional gigs elsewhere. In 2016, there are some more gigs elsewhere than the last years, so I still have hope he *might* eventually add a German gig, too. My theory is that he changed his marketing strategy in 2013 and decided to build and maintain a solid base (and income) in 2 countries (Italy and France) and from there slowly try to get known in other countries again too. Or at least I hope for the latter part of that... but maybe it'll just stay the occasional gig elsewhere. :mf_rosetinted:

I agree with you Fred that it's a pity he doesn't come here and we can't understand him when he speaks french or italian. But on the other hand, a Mika gig in French is still better than no Mika gig at all. His gigs are just too good to miss. :wub2: I'd recommend you come to Paris on May 27, if you can - it will be a very special and unique show, called "Wonderland", in a huge arena. Or if you want to hear him talking english, maybe you can plan a holiday around one of his international gigs (Lisbon, Latvia, Lithuania, maybe even Japan or China?) - I don't know if you enjoy travelling and seeing new places, but if you do, travelling to a Mika gig occasionally is a very good excuse to do that. :teehee:

I agree with what you say. Even with the UK, Mika is dragging his heels. Yet the UK, and of course the US market, are very important for the careers of music artists. You don't get Adele, Sam Smith, or One Direction, ignoring the US and UK. They know it's important for their careers to keep in with the English speaking market, but for some reason, Mika has decided to concentrate mainly on Italy and France.

Germany is just one of the countries Mika isn't going to, at the moment. For the German fans sake, I hope Mika decides to go there soon.

But the UK have only the one gig in London, so we're not much better off.

  16. Well I'll be honest. I'm not bothering with the film. It's not my kind of film anyway, and I'm not going to sit through a film I don't enjoy, for only 1 minute of Mika. I'm sure his little bit will end up on YT anyway.

Years ago I liked an actress called Jeri Ryan, who was supposed to be in a movie called "The Kid", so I went to see the film and it was a case of blink-and-you-miss-her. I'm sure it will be the same with Mika.

I saw a preview on the TV and his name didn't come up, so I can't see his part being really big. It showed more of Justin Bieber than anyone else. I'm sure it will be a treat for his fans.

But for me, I'll wait until Mika is in a better role, or his music is in a movie. I was disappointed with Kick Ass. His song only being played at the end. If it had been during the film, it would have been better.

  17. It's weird because I'm Catholic (I'm not preaching, I promise :D ) and the whole gay rights thing doesn't bother me. I'm all for supporting it, and the same goes for a lot of Catholics in New Zealand. My Religious Studies teacher at school is a Catholic nun and she supports gay rights. I think it must be a cultural thing for Italy as well because of the influence the church has had for ages. When there was the Synod of the Family, and there was discussion for gay rights, I know that the Cardinal for New Zealand wanted to encourage gay rights within the church. The Catholic church that I know in New Zealand is definitely becoming more supportive and open.

I'm sure Roman Catholics themselves aren't against gay people. It's the ones who run the church that cause the problems. I was actually Christened RC when I was a baby. I left the church when I grew up, as there were many aspects of it I didn't agree with. For me personally, as a person with several disabilities, including Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, I didn't agree with their stance that contraception was against their teachings. They would have expected me to have child after child, and not be able to look after them. There were other reasons I left, but for me, that was the main one.

I have one son and he's brilliant, though it was hard to bring him up, I couldn't have coped with more.

  18. It's the Roman Catholic Church that causes most of the problems. Not just with the Gay issues, but with things like equality for women. They didn't like the fact that Mary Magdalene had a big part in Jesus's ministry, so they called her a prostitute (which she wasn't) to slur her name.

The church is huge in Italy, but thankfully, not so much in the UK now, but the RC church has a lot to answer for.

    I wish things were different.
