  1. AH! congrats on getting in! I'd love to see foxboro hot tubs live. wow. yes Mother Mary = :wub2: and Blood Sex and Booze (definitely one of my fave GD songs) and A Quick One While He's Away is an amazing Who cover GD did for 21CB that came with the itunes download and I love The Who anyway :roftl:

?!! Oh missing lectures is totally worth it. definitely a valid excuse. Billie Joe is just an energizer bunny and they all could run around on stage for weeks without passing out :roftl:

Mika was such a change of pace for me as far as concerts go, too. But I still got all worked up and shweaty for the Meekster haha. Concerts should always be high energy. Mika was slightly more emotional for me, but seeing Green Day for the first time was just  and a great overall feeling on top of rocking your socks off.

  2. I went as Dorothy, except during her rebellious teenage years :naughty: I don't have any photos here but I bought an XL blue-and-white checkered men's shirt from a thrift store, ripped it up some, put a studded belt around it and called it a dress. I had fishnet tights underneath and my red sparkly Converse...plus studded wristbands, heavy eyeliner and back-combed hair in pigtails. Then I stuck a toy dog under my arm and that was that. It was totally awesome.

That was on Thursday, the last school day before Halloween...then yesterday, I went to a showing of Rocky Horror Picture Show so I walked around all day with a corset, garter and stockings hidden under my clothes and whipped it all out at the theater. :teehee:

That's the best version of Dorothy I've ever heard of! Awesome!

One halloween I really need to go see RHPS at a theater viewing. I've heard they're so much fun. Love that movie!!

  3. :biggrin2: such good costumes!

I forgot to take a picture of my lollipop girl costume before I left and my friend took this half-shot of us and you can see like, 25% of what I made. It took me like 2 days and lots of pink satin-y fabirc. I even made a petticoat to make it fluffy (which you can't see... but just imagine it :naughty:)

  4. Going to see FBHT tonight. If I get in. 630 people venue, but everyone's going to Wembley and it's an 18+ place so fingers crossed...

took me about a minute to figure out the acronym but  awesome! I didn't know they were still performing as such. Good luck! I hope you get in!! 'twill be epic I bet :thumb_yello:

  5. *bump*

can we still use this thread for this halloween? I like organization. :naughty:

What's everyone being!? It's Halloween tonight!!

I made the single most shoddy lollipop girl costume. Ever. But I really wanted one so woo! I gotta take a picture and I'll post it later....

I'm going to two parties so the later one I'm being Juno from the movie Juno! We had character day at school so I wore it there too, so here's a picture :roftl:

  6. I missed the MIKA gig last night most upset.,..but I have priorities,,,dress rehearsals etc.......

you saw the musical right? what did you think of it? which is your favourite actor and song??

Tony Vincent who plays St. Jimmy is house hunting in NYC so he is probably staying on! woow! As long as its still directed by Michael and TV is St Jimmy I think things will excellent:) I think it is going to be on Broadway...a promoting/production company from NYC just put some money into the musical just a few days ago...which really doesn't make sense if its closing in 2 weeks...it can only mean one thing

ah nope I haven't seen the musical yet. sorry :blush-anim-cl: being stuck on the east coast sucks haha.

ha yay for positive signs for a broadway performance though! I haven't seen a play in ages... Avenue Q was here for a week at out Performing Arts center but I couldn't see it :/ hopefully soon I can take a couple hour trip to New York to see American Idiot!

  7. hey rubberducky!

    how are you doing??? xxxoooo

hey! haha I'm good! How bout you? I'm still reeling from my first Mika Gig on the 15th and praying for a broadway release of American Idiot :biggrin2:

  8. OMFG my friend Elle met them after their Sheffield gig, got a hug and a signed ticket. OMFG.

I can't believe it. SO jealous but SO happy for her.

 grr. haha that's unbelievable though! :thumb_yello:

  9. ^ Glad you enjoyed it! :D

Unlucky about them not playing 2000 Light Years Away, we got that on Friday. Did they play Welcome To Paradise? I was surprised by how many people didn't know it when I was there!

it's so weird when people don't know their old stuff. It's like, where do you think they came from? At my show, there were two girls across from me in the pit and they only sang along to 21 guns and american idiot. :sneaky2: 'twas sad.

  10. They were amazing! :biggrin2:

T-shirt cannons, toilet roll being fired around, audience members onstage, pyrotechnics, 2 encores...everything! Also much singing, clapping, arm-waving and 'heyyy-ohhh'-ing! I've gotta say, I'm surprised I can speak today!

Our seats were better than we were expecting too, level with the stage so we had a really good view. And on Mike's side! (He's always been my favourite...was because of him I learnt to play bass)

It was definitely worth the 5 year wait :aah:

yayyyy ha :biggrin2: They know how to put on a show for sure. yea after five years of waiting this was definitely not a disappointment. I saw them in July and :mf_lustslow: best show of my life! (sorry mika :naughty::blush-anim-cl:)

  11. Hey !!!

The new Video is Out !!!

    It's 21st Century Breackdown !!!

At That moment I schearched we can only see it on Myspace.

    Here: http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=100018111

This is an interesting video, I can't stop watching it, and found details !

I LOVE THIS VIDEO. I've been waiting forever for them to make this a single and the video because I just love the song so much. I've watched it a few time and need to watch it more because there is so much going on! SO happy with it though.

Their excuse for an East Jesus Nowhere video was lame, but 21CB definitely made up for it. :thumb_yello:

They have the video posted on greendayauthority, too so you can watch it there. It was posted there a few days ago (cuz it was released in other countries first... stupid :sneaky2:)

  12. so all week I was super excited to see Mika on ellen, even though I haven't been a dedicated watcher in a few years. All today I was excited and kept reminding myself. Then I got home and turned on the tv to watch House from monday and forgot about Mika completely. Then my wonderful Mother and friend called me and told me he was about to perform!! I was screaming and so upset at myself for almost forgetting to watch him!! I love them so much for know how obsessed I am :wub2: haha But then it was all better. I'm so happy they finally got him on her show!

  13. the whole night..everytime mika came by I just said "oh my god" :aah: I really couldn't believe I was there *teehee* and so close to mika...and he realy is cuter in person....well hes cute all the time but to see him in like real life is just totally amazing :biggrin2:

and so today all I have been saying is like "oh my god" haha

and when I look at all the pictures..it doesn't feel real...and I was like so happy that I was like almost crying ahah

I can't wait till he comes back :wub2:

I can totally relate! Recordings and pictures don't even come close to real life <3

I felt exactly the same all day today, and during the whole concert! Trust me, this will be the first of many Mika concerts to come!

  14. ok. just got back from school.. idk how people have time to write reviews and such right after the show (though I love them for it :thumb_yello:)

my friend and I drove up from R.I. with her mom and got there around 6. We had won tickets through a contest on buzznet.com so we were kinda questioning whether they actually had them or not. They kept pushing back the doors open time because when we called (we harrassed the arena so bad haha) they said they would have the box office open at 6. The show wasn't sold out. a girl in front of us the will call line was there to buy hers and ended up sitting next to us! While waiting in line I saw Imma walk in and kinda fan girled, and I think Doug possibly walked by.

so we get our tickets (sooo releived.. they had them in a nice envelope and everything!) and go get a water and merch. I saw Mika's manager standing right near the box office and freaked out again. I bought the TBWKTM poster and the white tee with his face on it. Yay Mika merch!!

then we looked at the tickets. We won orchestra left center seats, 9 rows from the stage! soupt out of my mind at this pointwe settle in and marvel at the gorgeous theatre. it was really pretty!

then gary go came on and i loved his voice. he was pretty good. i had only heard one song before last night but they were really catchy. he had a cute bear hat on :biggrin2: I have pics i'll post later when my sister gives me her camera back.

then 45 minutes to wait for the man. it went by pretty fast. I was talking to my friend and saying how not a lot of MFCers were going and i only remembered a few like HavingaBlast and then she turned around and was like hey! It was really cool meeting someone from on here :biggrin2:

Then the whole she-bang with the couch and the tv. So cute. who knew the band were such good actors?! Cherrise looked adorable and I just love Martin anyway haha.

Then they got off the couch and went back to the stage to start the show and Mika came out in the back all zombie-space-walky in his full-on space suit :wub2: oh and then he took it all off! haha. The band started relax without him and he joined in by the first chorus. it's such a performance to them, even though its a small venue. The atmosphere they create is spectacular.

Uh, the whole thing with his pants was hilarious. He kept turning around to yank them up and at first we thought it was a joke but then he kept doing it and laughing to Imma. Then at the end of the song he totally unzipped his pants and ran back stage to get another pair and changed right in front of us! Then he sat down for SITM and said "I guess I'll be known as the underwear boy forever" and I definitely didn't mind. His laugh is truly amazing haha.

I was happy he played STIM just to hear his scats. and his Louie Armstrong impersonation. It was spot on :thumb_yello:

hmm.. dont remmeber the order of the songs but basically I loved Dr. John. His feather crown/hat was cool and I want one :naughty: reminded me of Where the Wild Things Are or the Lost Boys.

People in my row kept getting up and buying beer and I'm like, really?! CONCERT. OVER THERE. But whatevs. they can walk by me dancing like a fool if they really want to. :roftl:

Yea I agree with the Big Girl thing. They should have been on stage longer and not just in the back. You could barely see them.

Happy Ending was emotional. I thought he just forgot the words but then I saw him trying to laugh off some tears. Don't worry Mika: the second I saw him I was watery-eyed. I can't help it!

There were quite a few costume changes and they all incorporated the blacklight/ glow in the dark scenery. THERE WAS CONFETTI! There were two cannons on the side of the stage and I think they went off for rain (idk makes sense to me haha).

The encore was good. I love toy boy so I'm glad he included that. Grace Kelly was so good to finally see live. By the time he got to Lollipop I could tell he was either running out of time or it was really getting mundane. He didnt play the verse where Cherrise sings or the really sexy verse after that :sneaky2:

After the show I walked out with Havingablast and went to go line up in case Mika came out. I had an hour and a half drive home ahead of me and school tomorrow so we left around 10:45. She said 20 minutes later Mika came out and I was surprised he did come out but oh well, I'll get him next time around.

This being my first Mika gig, I was thoroughly satisfied. It was a great mix of songs (minus Good Gone Girl.. I really wanna know why he isn't playing that one) but then again theyre all great.

Just being able to see him live, 9 rows from my face was the best thing. I could listen to his actual voice and not videos or recordings. I was able to watch him dance around for ME and say that Boston was one of his favorite stops on the tour for the past two tours. This is just the first of many Mika gigs I hope to attend in the future. All day, and even during the gig I kept having reality checks and going :aah: I'm actually here. Definitely worth staying out late on a school night and failing my calc test the next day for.

yea and I'll post some pics and vids soonish. Some are good, but most are fuzzy and all washed out for some reason. the lights were really bright i think.

  15. give me time to get home from school! haha :naughty: so anxious for chatter...

so I continuously freaked out today and had mini convulsions when I thought of tonight. Happens everytime I go to a big concert. This is really bad though. I've been waiting 2 years for this.

oh, question: how do I dress so I do not freeze to death outside and not overheat inside? usually at smaller gigs here (we have like one main small venue in the city) my friend and I tip the merch guy and he stashes our coats behind the table.

  16. I love related Mika to school stuff. Anything that has to do with music or bands I like I try to include in almost everything. It makes it so much more fun hah

but, this year in art, we're making "persian rug designs" which is just like repeating 4 quadrants around in a circle. So my teacher was like "pick something you like! like halloween or basketball!" I thought, LAME. so mine is now titled "In Cartoon Motion" :teehee:

I'll perhaps post a pic when it's done... or the progress i've made so far... sometime soon. I love it :wub2:
