CHANGED DATE: Mika in Amsterdam, Netherlands at Heineken Hall

They're probably DJs who just play other people's music, so they might put on some cds or something. -

That's what I ususally do. And, if I remember correctly, there are also some benches on the square in front of the HMH. -
Perfect match.

I think as long as they're not liquid or spiced with explosives, you'll be fine. -

You look awesome! Drop = liquorice. I just realized the Giro d'Italia will start at the Museumsquare in Amsterdam on May 8. (Or actually, I was alerted to it by the very ugly pink tram that's advertising it. ) I just thought I'd post this for the people who want to stay in Amsterdam the next day and go sightseeing or something, because public transport will be all messed up that day. Unfortunately the website didn't publish this in English, but what it comes down to is this: - Trams 16, 24, 25 won't be running at all that day - Trams 2, 4, 5, 9, 14 will be using an alternate route If you need any informtion on this, ask me, and I'll see if I can find it for you. -
05/03/2010 Johnny Depp Saves Friend From Mugger Los Angeles: Recording artist Stephen Jones has walked away from an attempted mugging physically and fiscally unharmed after his friend Johnny Depp intervened and told the broken bottle-wielding mugger to stand down. The mugger decided that he wasn´t going to steal from ´Captain Jack´ - a reference to Johnny Depp´s role in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies - and lowered the bottle. Depp gave the man some money and told him to sort his life out. "It was an extremely scary moment. This guy looked off his head. Johnny looked him straight in the eyes and told him to back off," said a friend. (http://www.shortnews.com/start.cfm?id=83974)

Glad it's not just me then. Yeah, I saw people put in some coins just last week. ^^ It'd be great if they played music that's at least connected to Mika's. (As long as it's not like Hercules & Love Affair, I'm good. ) Ticket machines hardly ever have queues. I'm with you! Whose idea was it to start Q-ing this early?! Awesome! -

The more I look at their page, the more I feel like they might not actually make any music, but just play other people's stuff at parties... -

I'm not sure if it's possible to buy them in a ticket machine, but I think the queue's usually not that long, because most people already have a chipcard. -

Yeah, but the ticket machines (I'm having a complete black out concerning the translation of 'kaartautomaat' ) still accept cash too. (Although, only coins, so I see your point.) -

You do? Paying cash is possible too, or you could buy it online. -

Yeah, that's what I mean. And being a student, I'm forced to use the damn thing. But otherwise the system is fine. If you're used to it, that is. I've seen a lot of tourists completely boggled by just the sight of a tram. I believe it's possible to just buy a chipcard for a day at the subway station. The book & cd thing? Yeah, that sounds cool. I'm in. ^^ -

I'd never heard of that card before, but I looked it up and it does include the subway (but they call it 'metro' on this website). It doesn't include the train though. And yes, the transport system in Amsterdam is pretty confusing, especially since they're in the middle of changing it. It's very annoying. -

If you'd go to your hotel first, it'd take you about 15 minutes (taking subway 51) to get from Amsterdam Central Station to Amsterdam RAI. I'm not sure where your hotel is, but it'd take about 10 minutes (taking subway 50) to get from Amsterdam RAI to Amsterdam Bijlmer Arena (and then there's a few minute walk to the venue). If you'd go to the venue first, you could take subway 54 from Amsterdam Central Station to Amsterdam Bijlmer Arena (takes approximately 15 minutes). Going to the RAI would then take about 10 minutes. I guess you could easily do this, without losing your number. (Just remember that when you take the subway in Amsterdam, you're gonna have to use a public transport chipcard). -
