Well, I often read the different threads and spending much time to do it (many posts, and time to understand the language...) and this time I wanted to answer !
All your points of view about the queuing are very interesting and there are good ideas in evryone of them.
IMO, it could be right that an acoustic tour could suit with seating gigs, even if I do prefer, like Niki, standing gigs to feel the vibe. But it could be an experience, it could be nice to live another kind of gig. Of course, presales must be made and it would create some tensions between different fans because one would not understand why his friend who was in front of his PC at the same hour than him had a central seat three rows in front of him, but it could be an experience to test !
As some of you just said, I like the queuing part, but it doen't have to be that long !!! I like meeting my Mikafriends and spend the day with day, singing, chatting, laughing, making expeditions to go on the WC....
I was at the Brixton gig on the 28th, it was like my first Mika gig because I was in Nantes gig before, but not as a real fan. And I arrived at Brixton at 12:30 and couldn't imagine the number of people beeing there knowing the size of the venue...
But the problem is that it's like a spiral. For the next gig you attend, you know that the day before, fans were there very early and you don't make those efforts to be in the back of the venue. I don't know if I'm clear, but some of use make long trips, spend money.... so you want the best you can have, even more when you know that you could be in the first rows....
For the Parc des Princes gig, we were afraid of the fans of the other bands playing at the stadium too. We were afraid because of the size of the venue and we didn't wanted to be in the middle of the grass and see this gig on the screens. So we arrived there veryyyyyyy early, too early. The sun wasn't there anymore and we spend allllllllll the day waiting. Like I said, I enjoy this waiting part when the excitment shows but I'll never do that again. Never. And I hope that I'll never have to do it again.... but I wonder if I know there is a "risk" that some of us won't behave in the way I'd like to behave, what will I do ? I don't know, but I'm afraid I'll queuing all the day.... Like I said, this is a kind of a spiral...
Hope my english wasn't too hard to understand !
And hope we'll get news quite soon for these new gigs... can't wait !!
