Ingie here again. Spoke to an airline person. They expect no flights in weeks or months.

Oh Monie, that's such a tragically heroic story. (why could they go but not you, though? )

 

Aww. Flowers for you

Ingie speaking here: There were only 58 spots and so many people who have been stuck at the airport for 3 days already. Wouldn't be fair towards them. Also we would have arrived completely exhausted and wouldn't have been able to enjoy the gig to the fullest. It was a matter of priorities and they were more important than us.

Ok, an update from here (Monie and Ingie). After spending the whole afternoon at Schiphol airport we are at my place now. Schiphol looked like ghosttown, freaky.

We tried everything, that is almost everything. We could have gone by train but that would have cost us 500 extra euros per person, money we simply don't have. It would have been at least 15 hours of traveling (one way).

At a certain point the airline people told us there might be going a bus to Barcelona tonight or tomorrow morning for no extra fee. So we waited, and waited, and waited to hear in the end that they wouldn't go through with it since the higher people didn't approve of it. So we had to arrange it ourselves. Surrounded by at least 50 desperate Spanish people Ingie and I contacted the bus company since we were the only ones speaking Dutch.

As soon people noticed that I was talking to the bus company they jumped upon me, leaving me screaming to Ingie: "Be my bodyguard!" It was kind of scary, now I know how Mika must feel every now and then. They were all shouting so at a certain point I yelled: quiet! And every one was quiet . Wow, feels good to have so much power .

So, we arranged for the Spanish people to be able to go home again tonight and we sacrificed our spot. The group was called: "group Simone," the tour operator told me, I felt like a celebrity . People were very grateful, someone was crying, which almost made Ingie and me cry too.

We are very very sad we cannot go to the gig but we felt good that we helped so many people. Karma will repay us (hopefully ).

We tried everything that was in our physical and financial power. It wasn't meant to be....

Mika we love you...

There is still hope!!!! You need to be there and be a LG for both of us!!

We will get there, even if I have to fly that airplane myself!

I can drive a car these days, a plane cannot be very different, can it .

I feel so bad for everyone who isn't able to go. I am probably amongst you, I just do not accept it yet .

Awww...that is a shame. At least you have the Milan gig in a few days . To be honest I kind of accepted the fact that I probably won't be able to go either. I don't feel like spending a big amount of money on one gig (apart from the fact that I don't have it). I will use the refund money for other gigs .

@Sara: i bought my ticket 92 euros.

Now i just had a look , easyjet , 117 euros for Sunday départure 12h20, arrival 13h40 .from Lyon.

I know someone with a very nice automatic car. Her name is Miek .

Without kidding (tho the nice car part is true) as I said before, I don't feel like driving to Barcelona and then drive back the next day for one gig. I am sorry! I will be too knackered to enjoy the gig. If we can't go tomorrow I will spend the refund plane money on other Mika gigs!

Let's go to Russia together .

I just got in contact with someone from the airline, they have good hope that our flight will depart tomorrow! Fingers crossed!

It's official now that I can't be there. Our airports are closed until Sunday afternoon, at least. I was really looking forward to this one, so not happy. I guess this was a sign for me not be a LG or BG

Oh no! Can't you drive to a nearby country? Or are the airports closed there as well? They probably are. At least you have still some gigs to come. But still. Can you get a refund of your plane tickets? Ingie and I can.

Ingie and I still have our hopes up for flying to Barcelona. If not tomorrow, then Sunday. But I'm not sure if there will be place in the airplane Sunday. Tomorrow we will know more.

You know, that's the same in a car or bus. You can get hit by a tornado . Usually flying goes well.

That was funny indeed. When he got on stage wearing that t-shirt we were like wtf, haha.

He was sligthly annoyed when the big and lollipop girls were giving the flowers to him, instead of throwing them, like they were orderd to. You could see him think wtf at that point. It must have been because of the nerves of the LG's and BG's that they gave the flowers instead of throwing them . It looked allright tho.

That's because no one knows for certain how the situation will develop I think.

In Holland it is quite clear: there will be no air traffic untill tonight (tho some air compagnies will try to fly a little sooner if possible).

Allegra, if I manage to get to Barcelona I would like to accept your offer. I'm just not sure if I can make it yet, there will be probably no air traffic from and to Amsterdam today, hopefully the flight Ingie and I are supposed to take (tomorrow 3 o 'clock) will happen. We too have to wait and see. Sigh. Good luck everyone (I am going to pack my suitcase anyway!).

That is sweet dear, the news here in the Netherlands are not positive about air traffic being operational soon. Hopefully we all know more tomorrow.

You've blown in the wrong direction . No sweetie, just kidding. It is just nerve wrecking that whole Schiphol is closed and we don't know when it will re-open.
