  1. so many Mika dreams ?? what is going on.. I bet he is dreaming of all his fans as we speak... all this "OMMMMMMing" must have had an effect...
  2. I like his 360 artistic support of his gig... he always explained that he is not just a singer... but also likes to be involved in everything... from his artwork... to the theatrical aspect of his show... let's see what the future holds... and as you said, being realistic... I think we will be getting many mini PdP gigs... which is at the end of the day a Mika gig... and the canadians... and the turkish... and Lebanese... but it is no one's fault really... merchandising has to do mainly with the retail deals... and they put the deadlines... I guess for the first time Australia was not left out... good for them!
  3. If I can only get hold of this diary I am hoping we will have a hint by end of the next year... top of the year
  4. I love your postive vibe robi I wish he considers smaller venues - but I hope he doesn't do it because of the credit crunch we will have to wait and see what he has planned for the second album and next year's gigs...
  5. Thanks I was packing my stuff for the London trip and found it in my old suitcase yesterday
  6. the quoting is just all over the place for a second there I thought everyone was quoting me..
  7. Xlindee.. your description made me laugh so hard his profile picture on my space wasn't that scary! I remember thinking that he really looks exactly like my nephew... just an older version of him... I agree with your point... what makes a good gig is not the glam... just the overall vibe, music and interaction with the audience
  8. I hope so too ... I really do... with a voice like his... a talent like his... less can be easily more... at least for me... that being said, I also like the way he evolved... and see how his interpretation of the same songs have grown with time.. and I understand his 360 degrees approach to art... from wardrobe, to dancers, to background visuals, album artwork, theme, etc... but can not help remember the first time I heard him online on his myspace website January 2007... when I didn't even see a video clip yet.. and was totally in love with his voice and talent... to me the fashion side is nice... just not essential... or core ... not with a voice and music like his .. and he can easily pull a perfect show by just singing, smiling back to his audience and interacting with them...
  9. Hi Tatiana, Sorry to hear about your loss... and a big hug to you for going through all these losses in such a short time. all the heartache you are going through is normal, I have been there before. It is OK to cry... even if you do it everyday... let it all out of your system. What you are going through is very difficult to comprehend.. and it is normal for your body to react ... it is part of the healing process. And as much as you hate crying because you think it is painful, it is actually one of the best ways to get through this tough phase... allow your soul to grief your losses... until you are ready to move on... I do understand how much you want to talk to them, be with them, share news with them...and it hurts not being able to... the best thing you can do is talk to them in your prayers... for they have loved you and somewhere out there, they might be listening to you. Talk about them with friends and family... keep their memory alive through you. The only way you truly lose someone is if you lose their memories... so keep their memory alive in your heart. Losing a mother is very tough, and no matter how old you are, you feel unprotected, but unfortunately it is a normal process in life. Though it is shocking in the beginning and heartbreaking, you feel like an orphan even if you are 70 years old, for their love is special... the only thing that you can do is accept the fact that she is in a better place, always with you in your heart, talking to your soul. She will always stay alive in your heart... in your memories... so keep her their.. Every time you miss them, remember all the good memories even talk to her in your prayers... it sometimes make people feel better. The only thing I can tell you, don't look for a quick fix for the pain... there is no quick way. You need time, and patience... it is not an easy process... but you have to go through it... until both your heart and soul are at peace with your loss. I know it is difficult for you to see it now, but life will go on.. and you will feel less pain... though don't worry, they will always be in a special place in your heart... so you might have lost them phusically... but not mentally.. Stay strong, talk to friends.. share your feelings with people who shared the same loss... take your time... and grief... it is not a bad thing.. even if it is painful... hugs and love... xxx
  10. Beirut gig was not a festival... and he didn't sing rain... maybe the weather did not inspire him since it was sunny all day
  11. glad you enjoyed the review... whoever is going to see her live will have a blast just make sure you have enough space to dance and those who haven't bought seats close to the stage don't need to worry much cause her show can be seen from anywhere - but it would be better if the location is standing so you can dance to the music
  12. now that would be a DVD worth buying over and over again! I agree with everything you said above..
  13. maybe the rain all day in Amsterdam inspired him to sing it I am just guessing that he "underestimated" his hard core lebanese fans ... maybe he thought they are not aware he sang it a week ago in Europe little does he know I was expecting him to sing it... but was not disappointed that he didn't... he made up for it by pulling one of the best shows... he was sooo relaxed and having fun with the crowd... you can feel as if he was on holiday and not doing his job... as if he is singing among friends... very relaxed gig...
  14. I was in Amsterdam too! it was a great gig... thank God the rain stopped at the right time No, don't worry... the DVD is not disappointing at all... it's a good one.. and a great DVD to buy while we wait for his second album... some people expect a DVD to have the best recorded "vocals" from his summer tour, or more info, or less info... different people have different expectations... I am sure no one expected Mika to pop out of the DVD player in flesh and blood it is definitely worth buying and it will keep you entertained for a while.. It is growing on me the more I watch it... it has a lot in common from the Amsterdam gig (the theatrical part)
  15. it worth buying but try to manage your expectations.. have you seen him live already?
  16. wow... thanks for the post... it's sad to know that... too bad..
  17. I find this whole "not releasing the album in certain markets" issue a little strange... I don't understand the motivation behind his record company's decision - if that's the case - since I have no real info about the issue... especially that he and Amy Winehouse have the same record company... so if they are supporting her in Turkey, they should do the same thing with him..
  18. so many views... a popular website ... he will get there... with his name mentioned ... eventually you mean "with"
  19. I think a new blog, a small Q&A, or even a Blackall project update would be nice ... as long as it doesn't distact him from finishing up the album - see, we are not THAT selfish
  20. you made me laugh so much... I just realized that am confirmed twice :roftl: well, both me and myself can't wait to meet you again...
  21. To all Kylie lovers... I am not a HUGE fan of Kylie... I like her and enjoy her music... I think she has a great sense of fashion and she has been rejuvenating her career constantly by being creative and innovative.. and that's what attracted me to go to her gig.. and so I did last night... and she did not disappoint her fans... there were many people from all around the world at the gig... The gig was amazing... the effort done behind the production is massive and very tasteful.. she started a little slow in the beginning - singing songs from her latest album... the wardrobe and choreography was nice.. but she kept it simple.. then by the 4th song, everything changed.. and the backdrop monitor, the dancers and the whole stage changed completly... the animation used in all of her songs was amazing.. very well done and in line with the songs .. the dancers were excellent... and she danced and kept her voice steady at all times... her clothes were cute and each time she changed her wardrobe it was withing the theme of the section she was presenting... the over all show was very theatrical.. and very artistic... she even used pictures from Pierre et Gille during of the songs.. I am a huge fan of these two photographers... and it seems so is she... and if I am not mistaken I think I have seen her portrayed once in one of their exhibitions in Paris.. I had an excellent view as we had VIP ticket (equivalent to golden cage) so we were very close to the stage)... though it was a little too crowded for me to dance... so we moved a little to the back to have more space to shake out hips... and I suggest whoever wants to see her does the same...as most of the songs she sings are "dance" and very few "slow" those who might not be lucky to get front seats/location, will be just as happy... cause the way the show is done is good enough for people to see the over all picture and audio visual experience... the huge monitor behind the stage changed periodically with every theme... and there are many dancers and so much happening on stage.. that it would be a good idea to be a little far to see it all happening... (I personally do not regret moving back a little to enjoy it) she interacts with the crowd every now and then... but not mika style... but just as good... the show was fancy.. she sang 2 songs that I haven't heard before... she also sang a song that I know in French... and her accent wasn't that good but I guess she likes the whole European French appeal in her show.. there wasn't one theme in the show... but many... and that's what made it dynamic... a nice surprise was her version of Copa Cabana.. which was well choreographed.. I was very impressed with the dancers, her live performance (her voice was good), her choice in songs was mostly from her latest CDs and not many from her old stuff... until the end when she asked us what song would we like to hear... and to our surprise she sang "I could be so lucky" which was a great blast from the past.. the crowd was great.. they sang along.. and there was a moment when some where even singing the theme song from "neighbors" the overall experience is amazing... she obviously out a lot of effort in the audio-visual side of the show... the whole mix of wardrobe, dancers, animation in the background, the music... it was full of glam... just make sure you have enough space to dance along...
