  1. Quick repost as it is TONIGHT! A friend of mine bought three standing tickets for BRIGHTON - unaware that it was not the best thing to do with a ten year old! He now has 3 seated tickets for himself and his family, but has three spare standing tickets if anyone wants them. Please PM me if interested.
  2. Have posted this on extra ticket thread, but thought adding it here too couldn't hurt. A friend of mine bought three standing tickets for BRIGHTON - unaware that it was not the best thing to do with a ten year old! He now has 3 seated tickets for himself and his family, but has three spare standing tickets at face value if anyone wants them. Please PM me if interested.

  4. And there is NO underground service in that part of London at all - a very good overground train service or buses only.
  5. There is a train service from Clapham Junction to Gatwick - and Clapham Junction is just off the bottom of that map - although it is a semi- stopping service rather than non-stop it is way cheaper and doesn't take actually that much longer - check train times to see if it would work for you. I used to live there and regularly caught the train to Gatwick.
  6. I saw a TV ad for the album from Tesco yesterday - it's on offer at £6 only this week. HMV.com have it at £4.99. Maybe they are spending their money on discounting it instead of advertising it? At those prices - email/tweet/facebook all the friends you have that are yet to understand your passion for MIKA the artist, and tell them to invest that small amount to buy the album and hear it for themselves.
  7. We seem to be an hour behind in the UK - just had best live act?
  8. I'm 5'11" tall - so if I am in the same proportion to someone of say 5'3" I need obviously a larger size. I would love to buy a womens fit tshirt if it went up to a 16 or 18. I can see that Zazzle might not be the way forward for the majority of MIKA merchandise, as the profit per item is much lower than you can make if you have a printer to print up a large number if items up front, but it might help them to quantify the demand for larger sizes out there, at little cost to themselves, so they can change the sizes they order in future. My only worry (as someone who has two shops with Spreadshirt, a Zazzle competitor) is that they may well not offer women's cut products in larger sizes either, it is an ongoing gripe for us and our customers generally. The sooner clothing manufacturers start to recognise that not everyone is a 5'3" twig the more money they will make!
  9. Not sure if it's OK to post this - mods feel free to take it down if it isn't! For the few of you that have met me you will know that idea of me doing a marathon can't be true. But it is. Sort of! I will be singing in the London to Brighton Charioke marathon on Monday - a ten hour charity karaoke marathon at Lucky Voice Karaoke in Islington from 1pm to 11pm. It’s just like a charity marathon, but without the overly revealing synthetic sportswear and the chafing. The fund-raising opportunity has come up at the last minute, so everyone at Scene & Heard, the charity we are singing for, are desperately trying to make it worthwhile by spreading the fundraising page to as many people as possible. As I am on-site all day coordinating the Scene & Heard team, it is highly likely that I will be singing for most of the ten hours - I'm going to need some throat sweets! If you would like to sponsor me/us then visit our fundraising page - maybe you can even suggest a MIKA song you think should be on the playlist! Scene & Heard is a great small charity helping underprivileged children in Somers Town in London, and rarely gets the opportunity to be involved in fundraising events such as this.
  10. Full story on wikipedia And an article from the Independent
  11. Not only did Milli Vanilli not sing in their stage performances, but it wasn't their voices on any of their recordings, so they were miming to someone else's voice.
  12. Actually, real rain doesn't show up very well on camera. You need to add something to water drops (I have heard of milk being added) for it to have enough "body" to appear on the TV screen. So there would have been no point in filming in the wet when it would have not shown up as an effect on the finished video.
  13. Went to the last Brighton gig - when I lived in London - and had to leave during the encore in order to catch the last train back. So I had no idea about the tradition of a stage invasion until I went to Sadlers Wells, as I hadn't been to a full concert before. :-(
  14. My first Mika gig, in Brighton - there was a family of four sat right in front of me - the daughter (7 or 8) and the mum were singing along and having a great time, the son (8 or 9) was swaying in time but looking a little embarrased and the dad looked bored!
