hi everyone!! the time to report has arrived for me too! i know i'm super late but the day after cattolica i left for holidays and i'm back at home last sunday.. i'll try to be brief this time, i don't want to bore you!! first of all we have to go back to when the girls wrote to tell us about the surprises they would to arrange for the gig.. as soon as i read their message i had this idea of doing a certain number of A4 sheets with the 'happy birthday' writing to be shown to mika while singing the happy birthday song. the idea was to distribute them to the audience (seated included), so they had to be a lot! the girls agreed immediately and we extended the thing to everyone else saying them to do their own sheet to help us to involve as much audience as possible thanks to my husband i could print 600 of these sheets in many colours, and adding the ones made by ppl, i think we arrived to about 1000, not bad at all!! i hope you liked the idea and that we succeeded in having a nice result during the show!! i would like to thank the girls who helped me to fold and then to distribute the sheets, you were precious!!! the queue went very well for what i see!! many thanks to giulietta for doing such a good work!! mrs p. went to find ppl in 'normal' queue before coming to us even if she obviously knew we were there, but finally she came and wow.. it's became much harder to be chosen now!! the gig was great, i had much fun!! my opinion is that mika seemed distracted expecting something would take place, and after the surprise he seemed tired as his 'battery' was kind of low.. but his mood was really good, he smiled a lot, hopefully he enjoyed the surprises we had for him and he said many good things about gigging and staying in italy! i felt so happy!! had many eye-contact.. aww!! during the gig i was looking at mika, and i couldn't believe that he was there performing for me/for us.. i couldn't believe he was 'real' and that that wonderful voice wasn't from a cd but from his person.. i don't know why i feel more intimidated from him when he's on stage then when i possibly meet him off stage.. i can't explain it better, it's a strange feeling.. after the gig there was this lovely afterparty!! what a surprise!!! i felt so lucky to be in, all i can say is thank you to who allowed me to be there!! the whole band was there chatting relaxed with everyone. then mika came, he chatted here and there. we were given the cake by mrs p. (aww, so lovely from her!!), no pics and signs, but we could give him our presents and chat with him! so nice!!! actually i could talk to him just for like 4 seconds as there were always too many people around him, i just succeeded in giving him quickly my present talking very fast to explain him what it was.. but it's ok, i don't want to moan, the most important thing is that at the and of the day everything went good!! about this afterparty i read some of you had doubts about how it was organized.. as allegra explained before there isn't any italian fanclub, it's mika who keeps on saying this, and it's a nice way to call all of us, i love it!! in rome he talked about a roman fanclub, who doesn't exist as well!! apart from mfc there is an italian fan forum i honestly don't know very well, and then there is a websiste with its forum managed by universal music italia named mikamusic i'm not very active here because my english is quite poor as you can see reading this message, but i'm very active in this mikamusic forum from ages and i would like to clarify that neither me nor other members were involved in the organisation of the afterparty. we took part to the surprises, we paid and helped, but nobody of us knew anything and actually just a couple of us went in, the other people were sadly out. i'm not complaining here, i'm just clarifying our position all right, that's all!! and now... pics!!!!!

Hi everybody!!! I was in Rome and it was simply amazing, really!! Probably my best gig so far, loved the energy, we were so loud!!! Waiting to have the time to write a proper report and to enjoy yours and all your pics and vids, I'll post my vids! all right!! i read the whole thread, watched every single vid, saved every single pic , and read every single report... and all i have to say is: i want april 21 back here right now!!!! THANK YOU everyone for sharing your memories, your pics and vids!!! and also thank you to who found non-mfc stuff around the web!!! loved everything!!!! i read you were talking about if to sit or to stand in these big shows... well, as you know i was sitted and my place was right opposite the stage and not too high (the scene was just in front of my eyes, nothing blocked my view and i didn't have to look down or to one side eg.), so i'd say it was a good place as i'm short, i'm a fan of the sitted places because i can't see anything even from 2nd or 3rd row, plus i'm afraid of the pushing.. so from my experience here in milan, i'd say that i enjoyed the show very much: i was relaxed, i danced, ate, drank, took pics and vids as i like, saw the whole scene, etc but i didn't 'live' the show.. i didn't get his facial expessions, i wasn't with my friends, the people around me were mostly families with young children or parents, so although mika made his magic and everyone at the end was dancing, they weren't hardcore fans and they mostly sitted moving just their foot or head.. so imo, if you do more than one big gig, try to be in front row at one of them, and then take it easy and stay sitted or in the back at the others! possibly sit with a friend who's as fan as you are, or it will be strange to dance, clap and sing along alone... i'm not shy at all when it's about going mad ad mika's gig, i just don't care, but if you're 'adult' it's a lil emabassing to do it alone among other adults, and even less funny...

Here I am after spending the whole day in a sort of coma.. Mika leaves me mentally and physically exhausted, I always need some time to recover!! So, what to say... I didn’t read the whole thread, so forgive me if I bore you with my report!! After some unexpected events, I finally arrived at the venue about at 1pm I think, a little stressed and sad because my friend couldn't come at the very last minute From the beginning I knew that I wouldn't be able to arrive early enough to have a good number, so I decided to buy a seated ticket. I spent the whole afternoon trying to sell my spare ticket, but unfortunately I didn’t succeed.. nevermind! I spent a wonderful afternoon chatting with a lot of people and having fun. When John and Anna came to search BGs and LGs I was asked twice to do it again, but I refused because I really wanted to see the show this time.. But I confess that if they’d insisted a lil more, I’d have said yes.. The time to form the line was arrived, and as I had a seated place, Robi kindly allowed me to stay there and to go inside with my friends even if I hadn’t the number, thank you so much Rob!!! We went inside this huge and empty venue, it was impressive! I found my place and started to relax eating, testing my new camera taking pics and vids, and chatting with that kind woman who agreed to sit near to me as I was alone! It was really impressive watching the people entering in the venue from afar! It was a real river of people going down from the stairs and filling every place!! The place was soon full and about at 8.45 the supporter act began his performance. It was Nesli, an Italian rapper. I didn’t know him at all, but the young girls next to me did and they sang by heart all those loooong lyrics dancing and going mad!!! Rap isn’t my cup of tea, but it wasn’t too bad.. maybe just because I could understand what that guy was saying!!! XD Finally the lights were switched off again, and it was Mika-Time!!! The scene was something spectacular!!! I was amazed watching those planets, the stars, the little living room, the strange round platform which I knew would have given us tons of surprises.. everything was simple but effective, just like Mika said in an interview! I filmed a lot, although my 20x zoom the vids aren’t great but you can have the feeling of how big this show was, and above all of how much the audience reacted and took part to the show! The intro and the flying Mika were so cool!! Then I soooo loved that he started with Relax!!! Every two/three songs there was a little intermezzo! I lllloved Over my Shoulder, his voice became operatic at some points, more than other times he performed that song imo.. can’t wait to watch a vid of OMS to know if I was dreaming of if he really sang as an opera singer!! Oh, you already know Ida was there and of her opera part of course! Before Rain Mika came out with his scrapbook, and in a crash boom bang the scene changed from the planets to the scrapbook theme!! So he combined the two shows!! How smart was that?! I was surprised!! Then the song started and everyone was dancing like in a huge disco!!! We Are Golden was another pearl, I intended to film just the intro, but the audience went so mad that I filmed the whole song!! Impressive!!! I wonder why Mika wants to die in every single show… and this time he kills the band too!! Mika is Mika, you can’t tell what the hell he’s got in that genius brain sometimes!! Oh I forgot to mention Any Other World.. Once again Italy showed to love that song, he let us sing and I was simply amazed in hearing all that voices singing for him.. Lollipop came and the show was over.. BUT, then Kick Ass was on and I was surprised is seeing the audience keep on dancing!! I saw confused faces watching me and other few people singing the lyrics and dancing like mad elks, but a lot of people was dancing, and I thought it was great!!! After the show I met my friends and again and all together we went to the back of the venue trying to know if that was the right place for waiting for him. It was, so we started to wait for AGES!!! It was cold, we were exhausted and hungry.. Everything I wished was a hot shower and a sandwich.. Who cares about Mika??? No way, we waited and waited.. finally at 1.45am he came out from that damn venue!!!!! We were in a single file, and we were a lot, but he quickly spoke with each of us in his usual kind way!! For the first time I was really nervous at the idea of speaking with him, my legs and my hands were literally shaking!! I managed to say him how much I loved the show, I thanked him, I gave him the little bracelet with coloured plastic starts I made, and I succeeded in having my first personalized autograph!!! I had the group pic we took in Munich after the BG experience, I gave him the photo, explained him I was a BG in Munich and asked if he could kindly write something for me. He asked which I was on the pic, and drawn a little halo over my head and wrote ‘To Monica, Thank you. Mika’ OMG, I’m soooo happy!!!!!! I know that this is nothing compared to other things people had, but I really wished to have something personal, something only mine! And having something personal and also connected to such a special experience like being a BG for one night, is priceless for me!!! Oh, I forgot to say that I finally saw his little brother!! Oh my gosh, he’s so similar to him!!!! Didn’t see the face very well, but the body is identical!!!!! The time to back to the real life was arrived.. Mika jumped on Yasmine’s car, I called a taxi to go back to the hotel, and everything was over.. I’m so sorry I didn’t say goodbye to who was there, but the taxi was arriving in 5 mins and so we had to run to the other side of the venue, which was huge!!! Now it’s the time to say thanks everyone and Mika of course for this wonderful day!!! The organisation was great and everything went really good for what I could see!! Thank you so much to Robi and to everyone was involved and made everything possible!! You’re fantastic!!!! And now… looking forward to Nice!!!!

I'd say absolutely fabulous darling, we are kicking about as always, playing loads of shows, and the album is finished, which is a bonus... The way I would describe 09 for us so far is: "We are on our way up on this massive rollercoaster, and as always, one's impatience makes them think they are going to drop before they do... We are about to drop, and the anticipation is weird... Let's hope it just gets weirder!! Are you pleased with your debut single 'Knocking'? Over the moon, to be honest it would have been our choice so it's great for us that the label are on the same page as us, and it's by no means your average pop single, there is a dark undertone to the track which I feel will give it another level... When are we due an album? July... It's great having set release dates but you see what I mean about anticipation... we have to wait aaaages too!!! It'll be worth it though! If Will & The People was a Jelly Bean, what colour and flavour would you be and why? I would say one of those purple ones with yellow dots that taste like every other bloody jelly bean in one!! They are intense but addictive! If people don't know what you and your music are about, how would you describe yourself? I would say we try not to take ourselves too seriously, so it's best you don't either. At this stage our music is pure and simple, we just play and organically bring our own influences to the table... But I couldn't describe our music without saying it is heavily influenced by reggae and ska music... especially Bob Marley, who in my opinion is the world's greatest poet. How did you come to music for those who don't know? I just found a guitar one day and realized it wasn't as hard as it looked (it isn't as hard as it looks!)... and it kind of tied into my wanting to be an actor and stuff like that... I guess I just realized after a year or so that there wasn't really anything else I did and that moment I was like... "****, am I a musician? Yes I am!" Who would you love to perform with, past or present? Well past would be Bob Marley, Michael Jackson is playing the 02 Arena for 50 dates...that would be trippy to do! How was your gig in Leeds in February just gone? I think we played in the old dressing room in the Cockpit!! Yeah it was fun and shambolic, I seem to remember not being allowed back into the venue by the bouncer and we spent a while trying to convince a big dude that we WERE in the band, and he was like... "Yeah whatever, jog on." So that sucked. But Leeds is Mental and I love Hyde Park in the summer... Are you getting good reaction to your live shows? It would seem so!! We are bringing the pogo back and it's always a pleasure to see people jumping around like tiddlywinks!! What are you currently listening to on your mp3 player? Newton Faulkner... 'Gone in the Morning' is a tuuuuuune!! And Lady Gaga 'Just Dance' is hanging around me like a bad smell that I kind of can't help loving... My influences are normally subconscious because you just take things in without knowing and recreate them in your own words/songs... I guess like Chinese whispers. So maybe my songs are Chinese whispers or all the bloody choral music I sung as a kid... With bob Marley being my catalyst!! What do you miss the most when you're on the road touring?
