  1. :thumb_yello: Grazie mille !!! :huglove: Oh "my MIKA" - you make me sooo proud to be your fan - what a wonderful and wise speech you gave here!!! :mikalove:

And now I do hope that this doubt about new music coming - and this critisism about his money use will stop !! :sneaky2: Come on guys, MIKA is a grown up man now - he lived in his parents celler appartment much longer than my kids, at the same age as he is, stayed at home with us, their parents! It's in due time that he can have his own house(s) which might be the best money investment :thumb_yello: He can earn, and spend his money, just the way he wants, it's really none of our business, and when did he complain that he can't afford making new albums !? I really don't understand what you're talking about here ...

    Love,love

    me

I agree with above. None of us criticise each other for the money we spend. If we work in the arts and want to save and spend our earned money on designer handbags or save for a house, what business is it of anyone else's? No one is being hurt through purchases and that is the important thing. If Mika was spending this money he has earned on something that is going to hurt or cause damage to someone or something then yes, maybe we should be discussing it in depth. But he is not.

He is first and formally a musician and he has always been a musician and always will be a musician but it is not the be all and end all of his life and career. If I had the opportunities he has to write and speak and create in all manner of things from watches to tv shows then i would take it with both hands and hang on for dear life, especially if this would help fund the musician I was. Clearly, there has been a paradox between lack of promo from Universal and TOOL which has encouraged Mika to find his own funding and promotion himself.

And complaining that he is not releasing an album as quickly as you want it to be is in my opinion slightly selfish. Of course I want new music but it doesn't just happen overnight. And when it is done and he has decided that it is ready it will be released.

I hope i covered everything I wanted to... Now off to read this speech :teehee:

(I never mean anything harmful to you but i felt i had to write something :aah::blush-anim-cl:)

  2. I knew the limited would be heavy but i didn't realise how heavy...! Glad i only got the regular though I wish i could've set one to Nas

I bought the watch to wear as it's quite my style and it suits me really well after trying it on :naughty: i don't think i'd wear it everyday but i also wouldn't keep it in a box hidden away somewhere... I didn't buy it to be worth a lot of money in years to come but because it was something special to me... :original:

  3. That's what my first meeting was like. I didn't ask for an autograph and we only had photos taken after the meeting was over so he had a chance to just chat to everyone with no interruptions. One of my friends (sariflor actually!) was there and she'd met Mika several times and had a great rapport with him so she kept the conversation going while he stayed and talked with us for a good 15 or 20 minutes.

This works so much better than filing past in a queue because the ones who are a bit shy or who Mika doesn't "know" still get the chance to feel involved in a long conversation with him. But the only way this can happen is if no one crowds around him. Not one single person. Because as soon as one or two people start crowding him everyone starts to panic and even people who don't want to mob him will often jump in out of desperation to get a word in before he leaves.

Don't worry about that. If fans had their way Mika would do 3-hour meet and greets after every gig. But he sets his own limits. :naughty:

That's exactly what happened to me in New York and i'm never doing it again :aah:

I'll rather prefer 15 minutes being involved in a little chat within a group of people I price, then 2 minutes on my own. I don't think I would ever say something interesting to him, so I prefer to take advantage of someone else's social skills :naughty:

Maybe in a ten years I'll change my mind about that...

Same here, I'm more likely to be calmer and less shy too which is always useful :teehee:

  4. I made a million MQs but my browser crashed and lost them so I'll try to remember off the top of my head.

Mamy - thanks so much for the video. How great that you got to meet him for the first time like that.

Kat - I was looking at that pic and thinking how funny that you (and everyone in the photo) look so casual. You'll be able show that to people, like yeah, here's me at a party with Mika, whatevs. :teehee:

Kath - no one deserves to have an MFC party arranged for them more than you! What a nice change.

Silver - thanks for the toast in our honour. Hope you had lots of champagne for me. :biggrin2:

Treasa - Thanks for the pics. Mika looks so lovely. Squeaky clean! :teehee:

Have to say that I don't agree that it's "inevitable" that people get overexcited and chase him all over the room. Especially when they just saw him 15 minutes prior at the shop. I have seen Mika a number of times when he was not being mobbed and he spends exponentially more time with fans than he does when it's chaotic. It is the difference between hanging out for half an hour or more and barely stopping on the way to his car. I wish everyone could see this for themselves and that even the most self-interested person would get it through their heads that they are only screwing themselves over by chasing him off.

Anyway I'm sure I've forgotten a million people but I did read and enjoy all of your reports so thank you. :flowers2:

Yes! That is now my reaction to that pic, thanks! :naughty:

  5. I did a report and put it on another thread as they wanted to know all about it and it includes the bit before arrival too so I've linked the post underneath :biggrin2:

    Swatch Signing Report!

I just wanted to put this part here so that you can see it if you don't want to read the whole thing...

Honestly, this was one of the best adventures of my life (all my best adventures seem to involve Mika and/or Mika fans somehow…) and thank you to everyone who helped to organise the party, to everyone that I met, you never feel excluded in my experience if you’re with fellow Mika fans, I am so honoured and proud to be part of this and know all of you. Considering I only actually knew I could go on Sunday afternoon, it was the best rushed decision I've ever made!

And if some people don’t understand why I decided that as my (early!) 21st birthday celebration and present to travel south, stand in the cold and meet my favourite singer who has completely filled my life with colour and meet up with such wonderful people, instead of going out to clubs and getting drunk then they don’t know how it is to feel truly accepted and happy in a room full of likeminded people. :wub2:

Thank you everyone I (finally, in some cases!) met, thank you for existing and I suppose even though he’s not going to see this, thank you Mika, hope to hear from you next year!

    :huglove: :huglove: :huglove:

  6. Thanks! Preordered mine from yesasia & got free shipping :D i really want the dvd & those postcards :naughty:

i have a region-free dvd player & can definitely watch region 1 & 2 dvds. in theory it'll work with region 3 also..... right? *checks* right! So if anyone has a region-free dvd player (which aren't very expensive on amazon) they should be able to watch it too :thumb_yello:

I think i should get one of those... Only really known of certain region players, didn't realise there were region free ones! :biggrin2:

  7. Just want to point out to non-South East Asia fans, that the DVD is a Region 3, Therefore will not play in Region 1 (USA, Canada, U.S. Territories), Region 2 (Japan, Europe, South Africa, Greenland and the Middle East (including Egypt)) or other regions unless you have a Region 3 DVD player :thumb_yello: Just in case someone from europe or somewhere buys it and wants to play the dvd on their player :blush-anim-cl:

  8. They still have the TBWKTM one on on yesasia, it's pretty cheap too considering you get 3 discs & a big book of lovely color Mika photos (mine was less than 30$ including shipping to the USA)

  11. Who are you or where have I met you? :fisch: Can´t relate your nick to a real name :teehee:
