  1. Hello my dear :) I'm tired but happy! I had a very busy past 2 days, so I'm sorry I didn't reply right away. Yesterday I exchanged presents & made soup for Adam. He got me this cool scarf that's white, blue, & purple, a pink hat, and pink & purple gloves. He said he couldn't find anything blue or purple that matched the scarf, but he'd keep his eye's peeled! I got this cool purse! It's black on the back, and purple & black plaid on the front, and in sparkley letters it says "Rock Star" :biggrin2: Then he got me 4 new bandanas....I wear bandanas all the time, so now I have even more to wear! One is a very pretty blue and it's plaid, one is black with rainbow colored skulls on it, one is a green plaid, and one is blue and purple :) I got a few other things too! He LOVED the tshirts I made him :) One is white and in rainbow letters it says "Practically perfect in every way" and on the back it has a stick-figure version of Mary Poppins, and underneath it says "It's a Poppins thing" lol.

  2. I got your email but the pictures didn't show up :( It could be my computer....it's running a bit slow! LoL Today I made onion soup and it's REALLY good! :) I'm going to make a twist on a French Onion soup and just make the onion soup with some shredded smoked gouda! It sounds good in my head, but I won't know how it tastes until Friday. But I'll be sure to let you know :) I have 2 recipes for my cookies. I'll convert them to metric and send them to you probably tomorrow :) It's for the cut-out cookies and the fudgy chocolate ones with the candy in the center! The other cookies I made were just the already made stuff at the grocery store, and I added my own toppings lol. It was a long day so I cheated a little :wink2: Today was a pretty good day :) I'm finally done with my Christmas shopping!! I bought Aiden more clothes and pajamas, and a new pair of sneakers! He might not be thrilled, but I'm excited :) How was your day hun? :huglove:

  3. Adam called me the Cookie Monster yesterday! LoL Every year I make cookies for my family, and special cookie trays for some of my friends :) I always make a cheese tray too, and we're going to nibble on that Christmas Eve & watch some Christmas movies :) I hope you have a wonderful day tomorrow my dear :):huglove:

  4. That was a great idea you had to roll the cheese log into smaller balls for everyone to try! :) I think I'm definitely going to get some mistletoe...even if it's just fake mistletoe from the craft store! :lol3: I should definitely get my kiss, but we'll see if I get my Christmas wish :wink2: Let's see, I made cookie cutter cookies, the recipe calls for cream cheese, and it makes them so smooth & delicious! Haha I made peanutbutter cookies with dark chocolate chips & macademia nuts, sugar cookies with cinnamon & sugar sprinkled on top, chocolate chip cookies, fudgy chocolate cookies with walnuts on the outside, a white cream in the center, and either a Hershey Kiss or a peanutbutter cup in the middle of the white cream, and Pillsbury sugar cookies with a Christmas tree design in the middle :) I made 6 tins full of cookies, and only 3 of them were for other people! On top of that, I still have some of the cut-out cookie dough in the refrigerator! :lmfao:

  5. I hope you got to take your sledding break :wink2: My day has been pretty awesome! I went over to David's house this morning before school. We talked about each other's plans for the week, and all that kind of stuff lol. It's always nice to see him on Tuesdays :) It makes the start of my school week so much better! LoL Then today in class we paired up and some of us made cream of broccoli soup, and some people made cream of carrot soup. My partner and I made cream of broccoli and it was the class favorite :biggrin2: He was a good partner! We're both organized and work pretty well together, which is nice! I've worked once with my friend Bruce, and once with my friend Mariah....and it was stressful for me both times! :aah: They are both un-organized, and both of them like to question what I'm doing, even though I'm the one writing down the instructions! Oh well, you'll have this.

  6. You know, I've NEVER been kissed under the mistletoe! It's funny you mention that, I actually had thought of buying some and putting it on the ceiling in my family room down here :) lol That's so sweet that you tell your family about me :) My parents lately only seem to be concerned with what's happening with Aiden, but I know if they met you, they'd think you're sweet :) I'm so glad your cheese log turned out great! It's really yummy, isn't it? :teehee: It's always a huge holiday favorite with my family! Oh yeah! Cool Whip is a fluffy white topping that you usually put on pies or ice cream. (And of course it's yummy by itself!) It's really light....hmm..it's like a sweetened heavy cream that's been whipped to the point where it's so full of air it just sticks to the spoon like a cloud...I'll see if I can't find a picture of it so you can at least see what it looks like. It's yummy though! LoL How was school today? :huglove:

  7. I am tired, but in full Christmas spirits :) I made 14 trays of cookies today, currently stopping to eat some dinner, and then going to make the cut-out cookies. They're my favorite :biggrin2: I bought shiny aqua and pearl white sprinkles to put on top of them :) I'm making cookie trays for my sister up in Boston, Adam and David & his momma. My friends from school call me Min haha. My work friends call me Mel, but it's all fun :) Hardly anyone calls me Melinda, and I think it's such a pretty name! LoL My favorite is Mel, though. Hahaha well I don't think of you as an Elisabeth, I think of you as a Laura lol so when we meet, I'll probably just call you Laura. Hahaha or I could call you Spoony! :lol3: I've never smelled the Hello Kitty perfume! I'll have to see if I can find a sample of it somewhere :)

  8. It's such a great holiday! I'd make a roasted turkey, mashed potatoes, turkey gravy & supreme sauce, corn, fluffy buttermilk biscuits, green bean casserole, apple pie, my famouse peach tarts , & mushroom stuffing! If you guys don't have Cool Whip over there, I'll bring some of that too! LoL I've made every one of these items before (except the Cool Whip). I love the name Alexander, & I like that you spell Elisabeth with an "s". Over here we usually spell it with a "z"..."Elizabeth" and there's lots of nicknames that come from that. My real name is Melinda. Some of my friends call me Min, and the rest call me Mel. My family & church friends all call me "Mindy" and I hate it! It sounds like an airhead's name lol. I like the name Laurel. There's an actress over here named Laurel Holloman and she's beautiful :) But it's cool that you shortened it to Laura :) Well I hope your recipe turned out wonderful! It's always a pleasure to chat with you :biggrin2: Have a great day tomorrow :huglove:

  9. I think I might be getting this Hello Kitty lunchbox I saw in Old Navy the other day. Haha I told him I wanted it. I /emoticons/converted_smile1.gif" alt=":)" srcset="/emoticons/smile@2x.png 2x" width="16" height="16" /> What I really want for Christmas is something you can't wrap up in a bow or paper. All I want is for David to ask me to be his girlfriend. Haha that sounds sappy, but it's really my only Christmas wish lol. That, and for all my friends & family to have a great holiday :) (That means you too Laura!) And I would be honored to cook a Thanksgiving meal for you and your family :) Maybe someday I'll gather & freeze all the ingredients and we'll fly over there and I'll cook for you and your family :)

  10. Wow! I've never seen a thundering snow storm! That must be weird and a little amusing at the same time! I think I'd just be confused haha. I'm glad that you'll be able to get that kind of cheese :) I told David today that I'd watch a game with him as long as he doesn't get angry like my dad does. Haha he just said that he's quiet and doesn't talk to anyone. It's still childish, but I'll take that over objects being thrown and broken anyday! My dad is a little scary when his favorite team loses...but he's never hit any of us or my mom...just broke his computer screen and a folding tray table once. I tell him he's acting like a baby! LoL David's mom, Carol, thinks that it means something, that we were both born b/c our mothers were watching an Eagles game! LoL Maybe? :teehee: I agree, I think we should definitely meet up someday :) We'd have so much fun! Maybe do a little of shopping, a little cooking/baking, maybe play some Mika while we're cooking lol.

  11. Hola chiquita! How are things going with you dear? :biggrin2:

  12. Well I woke up late and haven't eaten yet, so I'm going to feed my growling tummy! Haha I hope you get my ingredients in time to make it on Sunday :) It's really yummy! I just hope you can find cream cheese over there...I'm not sure what would be a good substitute. The stuff I use is in the dairy department of the grocery store, and it comes in a little rectangular box. Have a wonderful day today and a great day off tomorrow :):huglove:

  13. I know, I couldn't believe what fun and unique things David & I have in common! I feel like if we end up together, I should watch the games with him, at least the ones where the Eagles are playing lol. I'm glad I mean as much to you, as you mean to me :) It's so nice coming home after school and getting a new message, learning about your schooling and how things are over in France, it's really neat :) I told Adam that you had asked about him and said "hi" last night. He said that he hopes that we get the chance to meet someday haha he wants to hear all about it! lol He just text messaged me and told me he's out buying my Christmas presents! hahaha I'm excited!

  14. I can't believe I forgot to send you that recipe! Hahaha well here it is: 227g of crumbled feta, 227g of Philadelphia cream cheese, 37.8g chopped red peppers (the veggie, not the spice), 71g finely chopped walnuts, 14g chopped chives. You mix all of that up in a bowl with your hands, and then form it into a ball and set it on a plate for display. If you have extra chives and diced red peppers, you can sprinkle them over the top of the cheese ball as a garnish :) Aww I'm so glad that your whole family would come over for Thanksgiving :) My brother Paul is 37, and I have 4 sisters...Michelle is 42, Ava is 40, Sheila is 38, and Candice is 36. Not only am I the youngest, but I'm far behind in age compared to them. When I was younger, I actually was closest to my oldest sister, we call her Chelle :) We used to go to the movies, to the park, shopping haha and it didn't matter that there were 15 yrs difference in age. We always had so much fun!

  15. This morning I made french toast & put whipped cream & dark chocolate chips in my coffee haha. I'm looking forward to my day with Adam :) Oh, Scatergories is a game...there are 16 lists. Each list has 12 questions on it, and you roll this funky-shaped ball that has the letters of the alphabet on it. Whichever letter lands face-up is the letter you have to use. If it lands on an "M", then all your answers on that list have to start with an "M"...it gets very interesting. If you and someone else have the same answer, then nobody gets the point! It's so much fun, if you love words. :) But each list you do, you roll the ball to pick a different letter. It's one of my favorite games ever! I'm sorry I made you cry with what I said...I just really appreciate our friendship, & how supportive you've been. Oh my goodness...my dad's computer room is the room right above where I'm sitting, & he just sneezed & scared the crap out of me! :lmfao: Well I hope you have a great day today! :huglove:

  16. When I was a teenager I used to hide in my room and not spend any time with my family. They would always embarrass me or sort of forget I was there, so I'd just leave and go to my room. But the older I get, the more I value my time with them. Even if they get on my nerves sometimes, I stop and remember that I probably get on their nerves at times too, and that family time should be important and special. So I've decided to grow up, and just make the most of my time with them :) Yesterday I had a very intimate conversation with David. We both have gone through a lot of the same emotional battles, and we both always feel guilty about everything. But on the good end of it, we found out that our moms were both in labor because of watching an American football game, and both are moms were cheering for the same team! Haha :lol3: We giggled about that for a while lol.

  17. Well someday if you want to, I'll fly you in here to the states, and you can experience Thanksgiving :) You and your whole family can come if you want! I love cooking, especially for a lot of people at one time :) I'll have my own place by then, so I can make the turkey however I want lol :wink2: Yesterday was so much fun! David & his mom don't really play games at their house, but we introduced them to Dominoes, and they really liked it! We had a lot of laughs, and it was a great day :) My feta cheese log was a hit! I'll send you the recipe so you can make it for your school mates :) I made special aprons for my brother, sisters, and parents and handed them out yesterday. They all loved it! And I included my own personal recipes in with their aprons! They each got a different recipe, so that way if they want the other ones, they have to keep in touch with each other :)

  18. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, and I'm excited for David and his mom to come over and spend some time with my family :) And then on Friday, Adam is coming over and I'm making more of those lobster & cheese stuffed mushrooms and we're playing Dominoes and Scatergories :biggrin2: There was this stand in the mall today that sold really fun colored winter scarves! I saw some very pretty ones, and they made me think of you :) Hahaha even though I have no idea what your favorite color is!!! :lmfao: But there was one that was off white, pale pink, and medium blue plaid...then there was a really pretty one with a bunch of different shades of blue all checkered-like. What do you want for Christmas this year? Are you gals going to make Christmas cookies? :) I hope you have a great day at school the next 2 days :):huglove:

  19. 20. I'll be sure to tell Adam that you said hello, and asked how he was doing :) I'm so thankful that you sent me that friend request and we started chatting too!! Some times I feel like you're a friend I've had for years that moved away lol and some times I feel like I'm talking to a younger sister :huglove: I think it's neat that we're both going to school though, and both have a lot in common! Oh, and yes...espagnole is a French sauce :) We didn't get to make it today though because the brown stock we prepped yesterday sat out all night and got bad...it smelled like dead animals! :puke: So Chef Bob just told us how to roast a turkey lol. I'm glad you're keeping right on track, despite how busy you are :) I'm so proud of you! You always tell me how smart I am, but I think that you're such an intelligent young woman, and when you're done with school I believe you'll be very successful with whatever you choose to do :)

  21. Aiden is getting a V-Reader. It's a digital storybook sort of thing and you can buy different stories to plug into it :) You push buttons to turn the page, and I think he'll enjoy it, but this will also help with his autism :) I also bought him a Mickey Mouse train set :) He loves trains. My parents bought him a children's pretend tool kit :) And then I bought him a pin stripe suit for Christmas Eve service :) He is going to go nuts when he opens all of these :) Thank you! This is the first year we've had a white tree, but since I paid for it, I got to pick out whatever colors I wanted :)

  22. I had a lot of problems with my hollandaise sauce today :( I actually cried! I really need to stop doing that in the kitchen! I need to be a stronger chef and not be too hard on myself. Tomorrow we are doing the espagnole sauce...I'm a little nervous. But I'm still going to try my hardest! Oh, after sauces we're learning a bunch of different soups! Ahh...that should be easier, I'm hoping :wink2: Well my dear friend, I hope you have a great day off tomorrow :):huglove:

  23. You're right about the age thing. Karen is 46, and we had a wonderful time at dinner :) We talked about our Christian faith, and a lot about school :) She's a term ahead of me, so she's sort of helping me see what's to come ahead ;) But it is the same way with you and I :) Even though there aren't as many years in between our ages, I still feel like I'm talking to someone my own age, and even so, age doesn't matter at all! I think it's because we're both mature for our ages lol. Oh, forgot to mention...Adam had asked how you were the other day :) He asked me if I still talked to my French Mika friend :lol3: I told him "Almost every day!" :biggrin2:

  24. I LOVE your yule log! The texture is excellent! It looks exactly like a log in the woods..only yummy ;) I've tried haloumi before, but I don't remember how it tastes lol. Have you ever had manouri? I like it, and I have a yummy recipe for it! I love Christmas time too :) All the decorations, the music...I even love the Christmas shopping!! Actually, the Christmas shopping is my 3rd favorite part of the season! I love buying presents for people, and I love wrapping them :) I always try to get funky paper and bows each year!
