Tomorrow I'm meeting up with a good school friend of mine after classes. Her name is Karen, and we have so much in common, despite the age difference. I'm only 27 and she's about 40, but we like a lot of the same music, and she has the same sense of humor as me! We often laugh until we're crying! I guess it goes to show that it doesn't matter what your age is, if the maturity is the same or similar, then you'll get along Some more of my Christmas tree ornaments came in the mail today...if I can load up some pics I'll post them so you can see my tree I hope you have a great day tomorrow

School is still great I'm doing all my homework, doing well on my tests, and trying my hardest with these sauces! LoL At bowling we did NOT have the side guards up, so it was amazing that I even scored at all! lol Normally my ball heads straight for the gutters! lol So far I'm making a feta cheese log, chopping all the veggies, and making homemade gravy...but there might be more lol

We played 3 games, and my goal for the evening was to get at least a 75 each game, because I really stink at it lol but I love it!. I got a 105 my 1st game, 103 my 2nd, and a 101 my 3rd lol. I did a lot better than I thought, but I still have a long way to go It's okay though, I go to have fun! But I must say, David is very good at it, and I was so impressed!! Every time it was my turn, he kept saying "Ok Mel, you can get a strike! You can do it!" haha my bowling nickname on the screen was "Vixen" lol. David's nickname was "Peanut" hahaha. If I end up marrying him, I'm sending you plane tickets and paying for a hotel so you can come to my wedding! He and his mom are coming over on Thursday for Thanksgiving dinner Haha I'm sorry if I talk too much about him. Sometimes that can be annoying lol. Well, have a wonderful day at school tomorrow

Aww, well it sounds like you had a very pleasant day off Good thing you got your English paper done! Ugh...Shakespeare....I enjoy it, but to break it down and write about it, my eyes would be spinning lol. I need a lot of work with my sauces (except the tomato and creole). It's really just the ones that need a roux lol. But I'll keep practicing Are you excited for your birthday? I always get really excited for my birthday lol I would LOVE it if you lived close by! You would always get to taste my school projects and new creations that I come up with on my own! I wish there was a way of preserving my peach pastries so I could send them over to you haha but they'd be all messy and horrible til they arrived I'm afraid lol. I had such fun bowling, but boy do my legs hurt today! hahaha

Last night was interesting, meeting David's friends. It was a little awkward because they really didn't say much to me. But I usually do a lot of the talking, so in a way it was nice to sit back and see how he acts with his buddies. Haha I saw a really fun & silly side to him The most important thing aboutl last night was that David never left me out He asked me how my dinner was, he included me in the conversation, and when we went bowling he would cheer for me to get a strike every time it was my turn to bowl His friend Josh started talking to me when we were bowling. His friend Adam was more on the immature side. He wasn't rude to me, but he was just acting really dumb lol. Oh well, there's always that one friend that's more immature than the others lol. How was your weekend? Are you enjoying your day off?

Haha I completely agree with you! Sweet dishes are my favorites So far we've made a white roux and a blond roux. We made Veloute, Supreme, Hungarian, Bechamel, Mornay, Tomato, and Creole sauces. On Tuesday we'll learn Espagnole and on Wednesday we'll learn Hollandaise I'm looking forward to that one! I've never tasted it, but the ingredients sound like something I'd really like The surf & turf was excellent! I baked chicken tenders in the oven with some salt & pepper, and I made a nice supreme sauce to go on top of them. I made Lobster & 3 cheese stuffed mushrooms, and angel hair pasta with garlic oil, fresh dill, crab meat and sauteed shrimp Then for dessert I made puff pastry cups and filled them with sweetened cream cheese, peach preserves and topped them with chopped walnuts We played the game Scatergories, and we laughed the whole night! It was so much fun

Hello there dear friend Sorry it's been a while. I got that monthly thing this week and I've been very stressed out and crying haha. I'm learning sauces in school right now and I'm not doing so well with them I've never made a roux or sauce ever in my life! So this is completely new to me. I just need some practice. So far we learned Veloute and Bechamel. Tomorrow night I'm cooking a surf n turf dinner for Adam, and then we're gonna play games like Dominoes and Scatergories We haven't done that in a while so it'll be a nice evening Then Saturday night I'm meeting David's friends- Josh and Adam! Hahaha yes, he has a friend named Adam too! They are very eager to meet me We're going to my favorite restaurant, TGIFriday's, and then we're going bowling Ugh....it's just been a long week! lol So how have you been hun? Well the baguettes sound yummy, but I don't envy you with the raisin bread I'm not a fan lol. I just woke up, and as always, Adam is the last to wake up! He is such a sound sleeper, and it's hard to get him out of bed lol. Maybe I should just start the coffee and bacon and maybe the aromas will wake him up! After he leaves today I have a LOT of cleaning to do, but at least I don't have any homework Well hun, enjoy your day and talk to you soon!

Church was awesome today! We really came together as a congregation, and we were sharing testimonies of how God has taken us through a bad situation and made a miracle out of it! It was really emotional, but good My church is like one big family! I think you would like it here, although we are Pentecostal, and not everyone is used to how loud we get Adam is spending the night tonight We're having a pizza sleepover and I'm either making french toast or golden butter pancakes tomorrow for breakfast I hope you have a great day at school tomorrow PS I like your new avatar!!

To clarify butter, all you do is slowly melt it in a small sauce pan until it's just liquid and chunks on the top, then you skim the chunks off the top, and pour the butter into a container until you start seeing the watery butter at the bottom...that you throw out. And that's all you do to clarify butter We threw out all the fish stock because we weren't going to use it later on, but we saved the chicken stock, and we'll use it later on! Tuesday we're learning how to make brown stocks. We are really moving fast! But I'm staying positive and not letting myself stress out That's so cool that you got elected team leader! I knew you were awesome, and really mature for your age, and I guess everyone else thinks so too I'm glad your perfume turned out great, although I had a feeling it would That acid would've made me nervous too haha.

Oh you'll have to let me know how the perfume turned out! I had a migraine all day today I never had one before, and hopefully won't have any ever again! Bleh. lol Yesterday in class we finished our ricotta, clarified butter, and made a fish stock and a chicken stock. We were busy! I liked everything except the fish stock....made me sick to my stomach...it smelled so gross! But I don't really like fish anyway. Oh well lol. I hope you have a nice relaxing day off tomorrow

My day was awesome! I got a 90 on my knife skills test, and a 96 on my written test! My teacher said that I'm exactly where I should be with the skills, and that my cuts are pretty uniform in shape I don't have any video of me singing, otherwise I'd figure out how to send it hahaha I don't really know how though :/ How was your day hun?

Oh, with the singing, I've been singing in front of family and church people since I was 2 years old lol. I LOVE to sing I think I'm pretty good, but I don't let it get to my head I wish I could go to one of your competitions! You'd have your own personal cheerleader in the stands! haha I hope you have a great day in school tomorrow

That sounds awesome hun, I'm so proud of you! We haven't done anything with our cheese or oils yet...I think the cheese might be bad by now :/ The oil will be okay though. I'm feeling pretty confident about my tests tomorrow My first 3 test scores were 94, 98, and 97! My teacher said I'm a solid A student and that he thought that was great David told me that his friends want to meet me So we are all going to hang out in a few weeks! I was surprised that he talked about me to his friends, but that's a good sign! Adam is so happy for me, and we still hang out every week I don't think it will be too long before David is my boyfriend I just need to learn some patience!!

My weekend flew by really fast! Friday night Adam and I hung out. We were going to go out dancing, but he was tired. We had the house to ourselves since my friend Tiffani watched Aiden for us We just blared music, pigged out, and then fell asleep watching Life in Cartoon Motion DVD! Yesterday I sang in church and the whole congregation clapped really loud! I wanted to cry, that meant so much to me Today my parents are coming back from their weekend down in Virgina for their anniversary. It was nice having the house to myself for a few days, but Aiden really missed them so it'll be good for him when they get home! Good luck on your next test! I also have a test on Thursday...it's on all of the knife cuts we've learned, so I'm practicing today! I'm glad you got to chat with your parents I hope you have a great day tomorrow

Aww sweetie, I'm sorry you've been homesick and feeling down Every now and then I feel down too, and you are away from your parents for a long time. I can understand how you're feeling, and I'm always here if you need to vent or chat I'm so proud of you for passing your bio test! The cheese making was fun, and I can't wait to taste it on Tuesday The test was easy lol. David and I are doing well We're taking it slow, but we're just going with the flow and seeing what happens. He said that he can see us being in a serious relationship a couple months down the road! He also said that when the right time comes, he'd be willing to take on the role as Aiden's dad I thought that was so sweet! I hope you cheer up soon! If I was there I'd come over and bake cookies and fruit pastries with you haha I hope you have a nice day off tomorrow
