We´ve had many discussions like this one through the years I´m in this forum, and usually, there´s a clear position that usually is right while the other is just... well... delusional. That happened with Mika´s sexuality before, and I´m sure it´ll happen again.

But I see here how many people don´t read, or they just pretend they don´t.

Now I´m seriously relieved. He will bring his closest friends to Milan to write (?) some songs (in English this time?) for maybe a film (?) or his next album (already?) or maybe some musical (hasn´t he been talking about it before?)

I wonder if the journalist asked him about this issue, or he just suddenly needed to make it clear... hmmm....

Anyway, to each their own. I had an argue (in a very pacific way... just through whatsapp) with a friend. She was totally sure that Mika was doing exactly the right thing going to that show and stuff, and told me off for disagreeing. Two minutes later,she stated "oh, well... I hope he comes soon with an acoustic tour" so I needed to reply "not that soon... he´s gonna be a bit busy with that side project you think is perfect, so don´t expect him touring acoustically anytime soon". Her reply: "oh f*ck...."

Sooooo..... There are two different opinions in this thread (or in this forum) at the moment, and no one seems to be changing their minds. Me neither.

Not in my mind changing yours either. Don´t misinterpret me.

When a dinosaur like me who has stayed away from the forum for so long (and I mean, FOR SO LONG) and I feel like I need to write in here it's because something is up...And it's not good.

I don't care how you want to paint it, I don't care about your excuses...I've been out of this fan machinery but I DO STILL CARE about the man, the artist and his music and I've been supporting him for longer than some of you are claiming to be (not bragging, not trying to do it. I don't think I will reply. Not sure if I will log in again anytime soon. But I wanted to support my fellow long time fans AND FRIENDS who saw and smelt the **** when it arrived and believe me, the **** is here, things have changed A LOT, and not in a good way.

Why do ppl think he won't be able to write songs during this time? Perhaps there's smth i'm missing

I think a lot of time is taken with mentoring the contestants, so not a lot of time for doing your regular day job.

I'm not expecting to see any songs emerging from this time period.

Lets put it this way, in the UK, Gary Barlow isn't writing any songs for Take That or himself when he's on the show.

As he´s said many times he can´t write when he´s on tour aka busy. He writes at home. And unless he now decides he belongs to Milan, I doubt he is writing anything there.

Besides, a tour (a proper tour like Imaginarium Tour) needs time to be prepared. And I read somewhere that X Factor lasts 5 months. That´s half a year, my dears...

No time for writing, no time for touring, and what is worst NO ROOM FOR HIS OWN MUSIC IN THAT SHOW. Can´t you see it? What has that show to do with Mika´s creative mind? Is he going to write an album for some unknown italian newbie?

To be honest, and as I´ve said before, Mika doesn´t pay my mortgage, neither fills my fridge, so I´m sure I won´t die these months. Nevertheless, after his success in NA I really expected he decided to do the same over here... an acoustic tour in Europe... or Asia, or Africa... At least he´d be promoting HIS music and not only his (on the other hand) pretty face, which is basically what people defending he´ll be famous in Italy are claiming.

Can you tell me what a random viewer will know about Mika by watching X Factor??

Are the creators of X Factor starting any show with a Mika song? With a Mika interesting fact? Will they play Mika songs all the time?

No.

Anything you´ll get is a pretty faced guy in a flamboyant/exotic/colorful jacket matching his new designed loubis. Aka nothing to do with music.

In a way, it's only 5 months. Not 5 days unfortunatly, but at least it's not 5 years. MAYBE it'll be not so disgusting, he is very good at surprising us. MAYBE that'll be disgusting and he'll lose fans and credibility in Italia. Does it mean it'll be the same for every country around the world ? I don't think so, I have no idea who are the judge in other countries (and I don't care). Yes he's not going to make new songs and new tours during this... maybe that's why he's touring right now and writing a lot.

 

I don't think it's the best thing he could do right now but maybe we can try to not dramatise this like it's the end of Mika ? You can have your opinion, I just try to lower the tension...

I´m a bit tired of this issue. He needs to be known in Italy??? May I know why he needs to be known in Italy? And not in Lietchestein? or Korea? or Perú? Turkey? Ukraine??

Let´s face it. Italy can do NOTHING to make Mika global. Same as Spain, Italy is not a country which every one sees as a model to follow. I love Italy, don´t misinterpret me, my dad had business there, my brother in law is Italian and I have friends there. But being in a second-rate show in Italy will make NOTHING good to Mika. Oh, wait... it´ll give him money...

He doesn´t need Italy, or Spain or Portugal. He f*cking needs to focus in music. And if without 5-months-side-project it normally takes him three years to release an album, well... consider yourselves f*cked.

I´m not jumping around. it might be good for his budget, I don´t doubt that, but he is again postponing his music in order to some side projects.

I don´t know the appealing that X Factor has in Italy. Its homologue in Spain is pure **** (IMO) and I wouldn´t like Mika to be here as a judge.

Sadly, maybe he has his reasons to do that. He hasn´t reached the sells he expected with his third album, I guess... maybe he thinks he won´t become global and decided to take this projects to earn a better living

For sure there´s something that will suffer at this point: his music. I don´t think he can cope with so many side projects (he is at the moment recording an ad for a Spanish beer, and will be at a showcase to launch his own clothing line... WTF?) and a new album. If as he said, he is also writing music for a film and stuff... well... who knows...

Maybe he decided to not focus only in music. He has a creative mind and maybe he decided to expand it in some other ways than just writing music.
