I'm looking for a quote from Mika. It was something like that it is the worst thing if the audience thinks music/a song is only 'okay' and that it is better if they really like or really hate it.

was it a quote from a video or was it in print? i seem to recall a video where He said something like this ...i'll look for it tonight.

also, is there a thread that lists all Mika's tourdates throughout the years? a fansite maybe? i got the list from mikasounds.com but i'm sure it's missing some dates; the Parc Des Princes gig is a glaringly obvious one But what about older dates especially?

awww, i'm so proud of our Golden Boy, getting all this attention! ...but He should play the first part (and the after party too!), Mika's way better than Cyndi Lauper or Greyson Chance (well, i've never actually heard of Greyson Chance before but i think it's safe to assume!)

Calvin Harris has a pair of eyeglasses that look like fly eyes so he is taking them around to celebrities at a festival and asking them what they see when they are wearing the glasses. Mika says something about seeing elephants in tutus and Scott Mills naked. (Sorry that's what I remember. I am using a US server right now so I can't watch it either )

They should also make it available on iTunes. That would help with the chart success. Only his fans would pay extra for the disc. No one who hasn't heard the song would bother. That's my opinion anyway.

He should sing EMD at that concert he's now doing in Washington on October 1st, then Barack and others would rush to buy the song!

the more i listen to this song, the more i'm convincing myself that He's sing "when I fall to your feet"

the unintelligble line could be "You're shot and leavin' me raw" which would make a wee bit more sense than "Your shot and leavin' me raw" :shrug:

"Put your lips on me" ...He doesn't where to put them maybe He could change it to "Put your lips on mine"

i'm still crushing on this song so hard i can't wait to hear the studio version!

here’s some of my random thoughts about Under Water & the things some people said about it. i hope they make sense!

-i love this song so much! i love EMD and Karen but that took time; with this song it was one listen and BAM INSTANT INFATUATION!

-the lines “port of my call” and “fall to my feet” didn’t make sense to me at first but after pondering then reading further into this thread, i agree they do make sense: a port of call is defined as “any port where a ship stops, excluding its home port” OR “any place visited on a traveller's itinerary”, so i think He’s just saying the ‘you’ the song is addressed to is where he wants to land so to speak. you can fall to your feet if you’re falling from some where above.

-it seems as though the song lyrics (what i can make out anyway, lol) could’ve been written by Lady Jane’s lover (before that whole nasty ‘drowning down below’ business of course) this makes me think there is a story to song & perhaps it’s not as simple as it seems.

-the “under waaaaaaaaaater” part is what really hooked me in, it picks up & gets so emotional. i don’t find it that repetitive; i’d definitely feel differently if He sang ‘underwater’ many times in row in the exact same way or in very quick succession (“start again start again start again” etc at the end of English Summer Rain by Placebo… i’m looking at you) the way he sings it i think is a good thing because it gets stuck in your head. it was great to hear the crowd singing along so quickly!

-i haven’t even liked, let alone loved, this blatant of a love song since… geez maybe when i was in my New Kids On The Block and Boyz2Men phase about 20 years ago, unless i’m forgetting one which means i must not have liked it that much all the songs even remotely about love i liked are a bit dark & twisted and my 2nd most favorite band swore they’d never even write a song & have pretty much stuck to it which i love them for since i just can’t relate to mushy blatant love songs… hmm, that’s quite depressing. GAAAAAAAAH! what is it about this song that makes me so

-it reminds of Placebo’s Breathe Underwater, but that’s probably just because of the title.

-i reckon this is by far my longest post ever on MFC, proof how much i love this song perhaps

okay i think that’s enough of my giddy ramblings for now.

this song's been growing on me lately anyway (the lyrics are a bit weird though & why can't He just call it Blame The Weather or something, unless it's somehow akin to BiotG and i just don't get it), but i like this new version much more.

i figured they'd be replaying the season finale before the new season. i totally screamed when the song came on & turned up the telly to full blast.

this was my first time hearing a Mika song on a TV show since i've became a fan; it was even more awesome than i thought it'd be.

it's not really "lyrics" but in SITM i still hear things, even though i know better, things like "CHICK-EN" and "zap an apple pie" or sometimes it's "top an apple pie"

i've been painting my fingernails a different Mika-themed scheme each week.

i call this one "Gotta be green, Gotta be mean"

it's black (mean) & emerald (green) w/ silver spots on the thumbs (no real reason:teehee:) but the pic makes the black look brownish

there's actually a *hem hem* certain gesture *hem hem* that goes with this one but it's a bit rude

i just gotta say, Holy Johnny it was hard to take a picture of both my own hands and get both the thumbs & fingers too!
