  1. Very sweet of him to spend time with these kids :wub2: Must have been a touching experience.

I've always thought he does private charity in some form, I know he is a kind and thoughtful person. I understand there are photos of this particular event but I also prefer it's generally done privately because it's about helping others, not getting good publicity for oneself :wink2:

    My thoughts exactly :)

I wonder why Peter Lindbergh was with him. Why bring a photographer? Maybe he had some involvement in the community as well? :dunno:

  2. Gooogle translate was a bit confusing so would someone please translate? Also does anyone know more about this charity?

I don't speak French but this is what I understood:

"INCREDIBLE MIKA! This is Mika who was kind enough to make an IMMENSE SURPRISE to our little warriors during their journey in the Camargue.

He came for the picnic, sat down with our warriors having a kind word for everyone and played with them all afternoon long, with kite, riddles, he even distributed kisses to our four radiant princesses. With his incredible kindness and attention he also attended our memorable “Flamenco” night, where all the children (and the doctors!) danced and sang unrestrainedly.

Mika treated us to some of his most famous songs, accompanied by some guitarists of the flamenco group. Noé and Juliette sang with Mika. Mika made Alhem dance, who even left his wheelchair sporting a smile that said it all. Juliette, Pierre, Shadé and Eugénie danced a memorable flamenco with Doctor Valteau-Couannet. An indescribable atmosphere, it was a thrilling emotion seeing the energy of our warriors, their raw joy.

An immense, IMMENSE THANK YOU to MIKA and PETER for making this day SO BEAUTIFUL. Stars will remain forever in the eyes of our little warriors and everyone who accompanied them, happy to be able to share this moment of grace and emotion."

I found this on their website: "The association « Imagine for Margo » is an no-profit organization (French Law 1901), intended to carry out advocacy and fundraising to help European research on specific, innovative, and more effective treatments for children with Cancer, and to provide support to affected families and contribute to the well being of hospitalized children.

  3. oh those children must have been so happy.

    that's a good pop star !!:blush-anim-cl:

didn't he also see children in a hospital in Italy where he gave blood?

I remember a few years ago, we helped a few sick kids see Mika after concerts.

I remember this little guy from France who found comfort in listening to Mika's songs when he was having treatments done. His parents only found out his wish was going to come true when they were waiting to enter the concert. The mom started to cry on the phone when we told her. The little boy had his picture taken with Mika, Mika signed his new shoes and gave him gifts. They spent about 30 minutes with him. His parents sent us a thank you email with photos, which was extremely touching. They were also interviewed by a local newspaper about their son's experience and they mentioned MFC and thanked me... but the newspaper wrote Ghislaine :naughty:

Someone on MSW had seen it in the newspaper and had posted it on their site. They came and told me about it :blush-anim-cl:

This is the sweetest thing I ever read :blush-anim-cl:

Those pics are making me so tender tonight. Phew. :wub2:

Yeah, he went to that hospital in Italy. It's a university hospital, I spend my life there pretty much :aah: I was there in the campus when he came and also had donated my blood not long before him. You can imagine my reaction when I read about it. Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised but at the same time I was kicking myself

  4. Thanks! Unfortunately I came too late, he was only standing on stage, listening to the woman :aah: (that was beautiful actually)

    What did he do?

He gave a preview of his new show. He spoke about pope Francesco, saying, among the other things, that he's often been discredited because he stood up against the powerful business world. He gave quite an interesting speech really.

  5. From the Facebook page of Imagine For Margo - Children without Cancer: "INCROYABLE MIKA !

    They published some photos too.

  6. Hahaha girls :floor: I love you!

    :lmfao:

You need to tweet this pic to Mika, with the words "so Maria, made your, suit":teehee:, when he comes back from his break, I just can't remember him in the film lol x. Its brilliant :thumb_yello:

I will, he should see it (he most certainly won't, but I'll try) :blush-anim-cl:

I want this in poster-size for my wall please :mf_rosetinted:

    (that's awesome :fangurl: )

You're fangirling for me, not him, I hope :naughty: careful what you wish for... :fisch:

  7. Thank you Lucrezia! Even if I missed some bits because of my bad French, I'm once more amazed by his beautiful choice of words. Part of the reason could be that French language would make a shopping list sound charming though. :naughty:

Very funny, too. I hope someone will be able to translate it.

The self-portrait's cute, very resemblant to the real one :)

  8. Well, I do sell and ship worldwide, even "in your head", so if you're interested, let me know. I've decided to put all sale money to fellow Freakas into my Montreal account, to pay for my travels.

Are you sure? "In your head"'s custom duties are very high xD

    I'll PM you

  9. I totally relate to the fondness. It's not just the music here either. He has a fantastic, funny, offbeat sense of humor that I relate to well, as a fellow oddball. He didn't make me this way, I was born this way, and then life set out to make me even moreso...

:thumb_yello:The more unfortunate the life gets, the weirder my humour becomes :naughty:

I started making jewelry because I wanted something to reflect my personality, and nothing at the shops really reflected it like I wanted it to... I wanted fun and playful and funky, a bit Bohemian, but paying $100 for it was way out of my league. Now I sell it to others who have the same humor in their world.

I've gave them a look, they're remarkable. I really love some pieces

  10. Me-crazy shoes, bright colors and chunky beaded necklaces.

I admire boldness in clothes, I have none. I guess my style is more like "whatever is comfortable"? Quite anonymous probably. I love bright colours though. Even if my favourite colour is black. Very consistent, I know :aah:

Aand I'm going to stop now 'cause I'm off-topic.

  11. Yay, I'm in!

I fangirl around you guys, not the general public. Although it IS nice to be spotted wearing one of my shirts and have someone notice... ;)

The way I dress usually would lead some folks to suspect I do it, but it's not because of him that I have studded shoes or wear scarves as belts. I can thank him for the glittery sneakers, but there's a whole 'nother Mika themed story behind that...

And as far as butterflies go... I have TONS of butterflies in my wardrobe, and around my house. Does that make me a butterfly fangirl, too?

I edited my previous post, everytime I press "submit" something else I absolutely want to write comes to mind and I have to add it :blush-anim-cl:

Butterflies, glitter, studs, 360° fangirl :thumb_yello:

  12. I don't think you're ever too old to fangirl, although one of my nicknames within the family is FanGran. Certain people (including a certain lanky gentleman we all know and love) leave the ol' ticker going pit-a-pat and as far as I'm personally concerned, I see it as a good thing if we find that reaction taking place. I still fangirl over certain members of Queen like I did in '78, for Pete's sake...

I totally agree with you. I don't know whether for my friends it's a matter of age or they just pity me in general :naughty: I don't care, as long as I manage not to become too annoying around them it's fine.

I was obsessed with Queen when I was in high school :wub2: Still, I never fangirled over any other musician/band, I don't know why only Mika. And even so in high school I fangirled over him much less than now

EDIT: Now that I think about it, maybe the reason is I've read and watched many many more interviews since I've joined the community, so I became more fond of him as a person, not only of his music anymore. I don't know if I'm making any sense here, I can't express myself as I'd like to, in English.

Do I get to sit at the awesome table too? I wanna be Jenifer!

    See post #341, first line

Just remember on Wednesday we wear butterflies. :mf_rosetinted:

  13. Love dimples :wub2: (Can I also join the can-I-be-Jenifer-just-for-that-moment-please team?)

    You can sit with us.

Iole, I'm still pretty new and in the giggly school girl phase of my fanhood.:naughty:

Does this phase ever have and end actually? I meant it for real, I said that yesterday :naughty: when it comes to fangirling for Mika I had a long-time training of acting cool in front of my family and friends, trying not to cross the line between "fan" and "psycho" :aah: (some of them still call me "maniac" anyway) xD

Finally here we're free to unleash our fangirl side

Now that I think about it, I have to admit my psycho side has taken over since I've found other people to fangirl with :naughty:

  14. dimple_zps766dadd6.gif

Oooh, feels like I know this one... It does ring a bell... :fisch:

    :swoon:

how many of us have dreamed of doing what Jenifer is doing above?

I might have said the same thing once, a long time ago (like yesterday), in a hardcore-fangirl moment :aah:

  15. Ok, let's go :mikalove:

    Ohhh, what a lovely picture!

    What is he looking at?

    Where is Morgan's hand?

Omg omg omg he tweeted something :boing::boing::boing:

    :mf_rosetinted:

    My turn :mf_rosetinted:

    Oooh, I looooove the suit!

Is it the same suit than in Cannes, just another color, or am I blind?

And what do you mean about Morgan's hand? :mf_rosetinted:

Same suit, minor detail changed on the lapel:thumb_yello:

    My turn now:

    Indeed! :fangurl::mikalove::swoon:

Dunno at what he's looking at,but he's looking in such a :wub2: way! it looks like he got a back pain,or something

I guess we all know where is Morgan's hand :das: (I wish I'd be his hand )

    :mf_rosetinted:

And btw, doesn't he seem very pleased?? If you look very closely at the position of his... Eyes he definitely is :swoon::fangurl: :fangurl: :mf_rosetinted: hahaha

Coming back home after an awful day and bursting into laughter reading this: this is MFC for me, Lucrezia made a point. :wub2:
