Heeeey people! How's everyone doing? :) Hope everyone is safe! 💕

Hey, hope you're keeping safe too!

To be honest, I haven't been feeling that great.  I understand that places need to close to slow down the spread of the virus, but it just makes me feel miserable that I can't do anything much.  I know that the lockdown is essential, but it's not great for my mental health.

Saying that, I've been trying to stay positive by listening to Mika and watching his cooking episodes.  Hopefully once the virus dies down, he'll announce more gigs again. :crossed:

  2. My dad recently dreamt that he met Mika in a pub.  Mika was wearing a yellow tartan kilt, for some reason.:lmfao:In this dream, my dad told Mika that I was a huge fan of his and asked if he could phone me as a surprise.  Mika agreed.  He called me and apparently I screamed when I heard his voice!

My dad had another dream about Mika in which he was doing a magic show.  For someone who claims not to be a Mika fan, my dad certainly dreams about him a lot! :lol3:

  3. Welcome to MFC, I hope you have a great time here! :original:

I'm also from the UK, and hoping that another London date will be announced soon.  Mika is amazing live, I definitely recommend seeing him as soon as you get the chance.

I so can relate to this! For me it’s also been over 3 years without a gig (last one I saw before Shepherd’s Bush last week was at London Palladium).

I always felt elated after a concert, however, this time it all was too intense-the fact I went with a friend who wanted to see him for 10 years but couldn’t (she lives in Egypt!), then because he came down right in front of us during Big Girl and we sang and danced like crazy. And also, it’s been a long while (December 2012) since I last went to a standing Mika concert. It all was totally crazy. I’m sure he’s coming back here next year but... that doesn’t even make me happy until I know the exact date - I’m getting a sort of anxiety that I will have to be somewhere else at the time and won’t make it to the concert. It all makes me laugh and cry at the same time😅😭

I totally agree with you about the next London date!  I really hope something will be confirmed soon, so we can get properly excited.  My last gig before Shepherd's Bush was at the Palladium too, but I refuse to wait another three years before I see him again! :aah:

Even I'm happy for the twho shows I feel some sadness inside.  I have the same feelings than years ago when I saw Mika for the first time. It's probably because it's been 3 years since I last saw him. If I saw it every week or month, I'm sure this would not happen to me. :emot-sad: it's hard to start again outside Mika's world.:tears:

I have the exact same feelings - happy that I saw him, but sad that it's over.  :tears: Hopefully he will do more shows later next year.

  6. I've only just arrived home and I'm exhausted after my busy weekend, but I have enough energy to write a little report about my amazing experience at this show!

This was my second Mika gig, and I was very excited to see him again. :excite: It had been a long three years since I'd seen him at the Palladium, so I was really grateful that I could attend this show.  I travelled to London with my friend on Friday and went sightseeing on Saturday, but obviously Mika was the highlight of my weekend!

We started to queue at 5pm.  Met some really lovely fans in the queue and had a great time chatting with them.  Eventually the doors opened and we sprinted inside.  Managed to find a spot that was fairly close to the stage, but not directly at the front.  Unfortunately I didn't have the greatest view as I'm quite short, but it wasn't too bad.  I wasn't particularly keen on the support act - they were a DJ duo, but they didn't interact with the crowd much.  Not that I cared too much, because I was just so excited to see Mika!

The main concert started around 9pm, and Mika opened with an explosive performance of Ice Cream.  The whole concert was amazing, but my highlights were We Are Golden, Popular Song, Love Today, and Platform Ballerinas.  We held up paper hearts during Tiny Love, and the smile on his face was adorable.  He has such a genuine love for his fans. :wub2:

I went to the stage door after the concert in the hope of meeting Mika.  Got speaking to some more lovely fans, which was fun.  While we were waiting for Mika to come out, I saw his sister Paloma leaving.  I waved at her, and she looked at me and smiled!  Mika eventually came out and stayed for about ten minutes signing autographs and taking photos with fans.  I was really close to him, so close that I think we even made eye contact at one point, but I didn't get to meet him.  So near yet so far.  However, I do understand that he couldn't stay for long, and I felt incredibly lucky to be so close to him!

Overall, I had an amazing night and a great weekend overall.  I didn't get to meet other fans at my first Mika gig in 2016, so it was really lovely to meet some of you this time!  Trouble is, I think I'm already starting to suffer from post-gig depression.  I really hope he will come back to London soon...

I think it's hard to predict, as there'll be so many fans from all over Europe / the world - and most will probably decide spontaneously, depending on the weather and what their friends do, etc.. Surely not all 100 MFCers who RSVPed can be in frontrow, but "near the front" shouldn't be a problem if you arrive before noon, or even in the early afternoon, I suppose. That's just an assumption though, don't blame me if I'm wrong. 🙈

And as I said before, there can always be problems when the doors open, like an O2 priority queue getting in first, or bag check taking too long, ticket scanner in your line not working, separate lines for girls and guys (which means all guys get in first and then you have the tall ones in front of you), etc. - I've seen all of these things at Mika gigs. I'll be queueing nevertheless, but also more for "near the front" than for frontrow center... and for being with my friends, that's how the queueing AND the gig are much more fun. 😊

I don't mind too much if I don't get a space right at the front, but so long as I'm close enough.  I'm not as tall as some people, so I wouldn't like to be right at the back and not see a thing! :aah:

But yeah, I was thinking of arriving sometime before noon, or at least spending time in the Shepherd's Bush area until a queue starts to build up.  That way, I can hopefully get as close to the front as possible, and maybe meet some of you in the queue.  I know it will be a fantastic day whatever happens. :original:
