  1. In Belgium! And also in Germany (Berlin) The last one was a wonderful surprise, because after the English setlist in Amsterdam, many had asked for more French songs for the gig in Berlin. When the first notes of Jane Birkin started, I was so happy to hear it, I think my smile couldn’t have been wider! Berlin loved him and everyone sang along. I’m very happy to read that he is planning on singing the song in Italy as well. It’s not just the song, but what it stands for - and it’s a true message and declaration of freedom, in more than one way.
  2. During the soundcheck we could already recognize 14 songs, it was such a nice preview to the next day, especially because you already meet a lot of MFCers there and you chat and listen and dream together about the concert!
  3. Thank you @Gabry74for your wonderful videos!! Do you maybe have the moment in OOL where he talks about the catapult in the castle? And that the craziest dancer gets a free ride in the catapult
  4. At first I wasn’t sure how it was going to look on TV, because everyone’s hair was blowing in the wind except for Mika‘s, but it really was perfect when I rewatched the concert.
  5. It seems to be an interview that is behind a paywall… the first part talks about Mika’s view on the Swiss Nemo and the ESC, but I can’t read beyond that.
  6. The person „writing“ this article just did a copy paste of a French article and Google translate and didn’t check for specific words or wordings. In English it only sounds half as bad, but it’s still not correct. But I don’t want to complain too much. It’s great Mika is being featured in Dutch press!
  7. Can I just emphasize again that there were two heroes that night: 1) the lady holding the sheet music for Simon LeClerc; 2) Geraldine and her hairspray. Mika’s hair DID NOT MOVE
  8. That was really wonderful to watch back, they completely captured the atmosphere and I’m so glad the wind didn’t affect the sound quality too much (you definitely could hear the wind from time to time, but more in a “ah it’s there” kind of way), I was a bit afraid it would. What I also really liked was that I could now hear the nuances in the orchestra’s instruments much better, I very much enjoyed that. They did cut a lot of applause… we were much more enthusiastic than that!!! But I think the microphones were more directed towards the orchestra and none to the public, which could explain a lot. Also they fixed the little part in C’est La Vie where the choir didn’t set in right away, I’m actually quite impressed how that was done! I wonder if they used the audio recording from the soundcheck the day before, it’s entirely possible. For those who would like to know what I mean, there it is: IMG_2213.mov Also, I am very relieved they didn’t film our sobbing faces but I LOVED that they captured the Banana’s On Tour and also Amy wearing her beautiful suit which she handcrafted herself. And all the other colourful people I could recognize in the public. Also the dancing in the fosse!! It was a typical Mika gig
  9. Can I just say that I really love what he says before C’est La Vie? I really love love his story times. I also completely agree with his mum, that every person is responsible for their own joy, to stay colourful, to BE colourful, so you can stay creative with ideas and basically to not only live, but also be alive. No one can take that away from you. I have to say the words “no one can take that away from you” hit me very hard. It’s what my parents and grandparents always told me, but they stressed on education (rather than creativity like Mika’s family). My family fled communist China to build a better life in Europe, but everything was taken away from them - even their honour. But they had an education (no one can take away from you that is in your head, they would tell me) and could easily build a life for themselves and start over. “May your head always bloom” is such a powerful statement.
  10. Okay, I’m just going to say it. It’s ridiculous how both stunning and fabulous he is, just look at him!
  11. Question; which songs had new compositions to them? So he started with OOL with a really beautiful Greek rendition, was it also the case for other songs? (Like Relax for the promo he did on social media.)
  12. I am sure it was because he saw it was the MFC website. He once complained that those lyrics websites and Google never get it right, but the MFC actually does! So you did exactly right!!
  13. I think it’s just male logic. It’s like when a man has a cold and they think they are close to extinction, you know? (Sorry, male population )
  14. And he’s not even trying! I’m sure if he really stands tall he will rise above them I’m always impressed by how tall he is every time I see him, although I KNOW that he is tall. Maybe because I’m just really REALLY short…
