Okay, I've done a quick sketch of my idea. I've got to practice my dovetails a bit (I got really good at them about 6 months ago but haven't had a project requiring them since) but I think this is quite a good combination of both handmade flower and box. The part there the flowers sit can be removed to reveal a box underneath. Origami paper can be folded quite easily so lots of people can get involved. I made a mock up of one of the flowers (I had hardly any time to make it and no pattern so the joints aren't fabulous but it's just so you can get an idea of it). On the drawing the tulips are dark pink but I think a lighter pink would be better (I didn't have the right pencil colour to hand). Obviously the final product will be beautifully sanded and the joints will be properly measured 😁 I'll attach some photos, lmk what you think! I put it as a spoiler because I don't want to ruin the surprise...

Great idea, I'm sure it's going to look beautiful and Mika is going to love it.

I wish I could have goose bumps during a song, but I can't. I should probably have goose bumps here, but I didn't, not with any song, not with any singer. It's estimated that between 30% and 50% of people don't have this sensation, although I often feel like I'm the only one. Makes me sad right now.

I didn't doubt your statement. 😅Yes, at the centre you can't see the judges when they have turned around and so far back, you won't hear anything either.

What Anna pointed out was that his demeanor was overall calm during the auditions, which I can concur. So I think we were both surprised to see a strong reaction like that in this clip. However, the recording is a loooong one and to be fair, this candidate was exceptionally good and I think we can all agree that we only had eyes for her. Especially since we can’t see nor hear the judges. 

It depends on where you sit. If you are not sitting in the centre, but at the side seats, you can see the judges when they have not yet turned around and when they have turned around (not as close as on television, of course). If you sit closer to the judges, you can hear the judges when they are talking (I had trouble, but the people next to me could hear them).

Oh that's annoying. If he has a strong reaction, the least they can do is show it for the right singer. 

After all, there's a reason why all the judges wear the same clothes at all the auditions: so that the makers can edit all the auditions as they wish.

I finally wrote something new on the subject in the first post in violet. What do you think? 

I've been looking for a while, but it's not so easy to find out when Mika started the Westminster School. Does anyone know? His last year there was probably 2002 and he was at the Royal College of Music until he started recording his first album. When was that? 2006?

I will add sources as best I can and find the time. Right now it's still a bit of a tinkering. 😅

It's not so clear in the pictures, but in person I'd say it's green.

Sugar really doesn't spoil! I don't know what it's like in other countries, but sugar in the supermarket in Switzerland doesn't have an expiry date because sugar doesn't spoil. If the packs are not broken or wet, the sugar is certainly still good.
