I don't know, would anyone NOT look on the official ticket selling websites first? And then if they still see tickets there although Mika said it's sold out, they will buy them, because they fear it might really be sold out soon. So imo saying that it's sold out when there's only few tickets left is a self-fulfilling prophecy and clever marketing.
Overall it's a lie and I hate lies...

I see only 1 seated ticket left. There are still some standing tickets WAY in the back, but I don't know how many of those are left. I guess they feel that is essentially sold out.
Yes, now only 1 seat is left. When Mika said it was sold out, about 15 to 20 seats appeared and also places in the stalls. Berlin says "limited availability", they could write the same here, no?
When fans read it's sold out, many think it's sold out and don't look at the Eventim website and may buy overpriced tickets through another platform, but that's just my opinion...

I just got an error message, maybe they're updating the site?
I get an error message almost every time I click on the map. The second time it works.
7 hours ago, Hero said:Could they have been declined VIP tickets?
The seats might have been seats that sponsors or the like turned down, which suddenly appeared when Mika said the concert was sold out. But I can hardly imagine that the standing room at the back of the Rear Circle Standing (Restricted View) should be reserved for someone.

They might just be returned tickets (i.e. for resale).
I don't think so, this is the fanSale page for Eventim UK:

Are those the auditions that take 5 hours?
They probably go from 12.45pm to 9pm, so even 8 hours and 15 minutes :

I still don't understand why Mika said London is sold out and it says so on Mika's website. It still has tickets.
https://www.eventim.co.uk/event/mika-eventim-apollo-17668887/?affiliate=TXA
This is not entirely conducive to selling tickets. 😅Anyway, Mika still has almost half a year to sell the tickets and he will sell them.

Do we know on what days they're usually filming, is it Monday to Friday? All week? Just a few days? Was that the recordings that take 5 hours?
Yes, I would also like to know that.

In the video itself it's 2x embrase in the first verse and 1x embrasse in the 2nd.
Also according to the pictures in the video this makes the most sense.

Just heard that the London show has sold out!!!!
Then someone lied to him, there now even appeared seated places (sorry, not in the front) and stall places:

I see a lot of people congratulating him on selling out London. Am I the only one who doesn't believe everything he says? 😅

For the lyrics 🔞
On brûle, la braise, une bulle on baise
I also hear the same, but I wonder if the translation is correct... In French the verb baiser has 2 meanings : have sex in a very familiar and vulgar language or it could also mean "to kiss" , which is OK with the next lyrics ta peau ma peau...??
The second meaning is more poetic than the first one 🤣
Only the official translation can tell us what Mika had in mind😅
Somehow I have the feeling that this ambiguity is so very Mika. 😅For those who find "f..." too vulgar, they can simply interpret it as kissing.

Still, in the rules it says "your video of singing to C'est La Vie". So I assume Mika means "playback" more in the sense of what he uses on stage, that you use the playback (karaoke) track as a backing track to sing to.
Yes, I think that is what is meant. But no wonder people are confused...
With the first meaning it says what English fountains say (German Wikipedia).

That's an informal way of using this word tho.
Yes, possible, but that was the meaning I learned first, long before I knew English....
4 minutes ago, mellody said:In fact, also in German, "playback" just refers to the track. For example, Mika has half-playbacks during his shows, with the backing choruses and sometimes with his voice in the chorus, so he only sings the verses and sometimes chooses to sing a harmony over his voice in the backing track. No playback at all would be just the band and Mika.
In German, however, one usually uses "Backing Track" (yes, I know, it looks very German) for half-playback. At least according to my feeling and what Wikipedia says about it.

Hi there! It’s Yuko. Could someone tell me about sending a copy of signed authorization please? Is there an authorization form? Or does it mean I only need to check ✔️the two boxes in the application form when I upload my video?
I’m not sure if I can film my video but above all, it seems a bit complicated for me to understand what I need to do to keep all the rules…I don't see any authorisation form either. I think everyone is confused.

Thank you! Many people (and statistics) say eastern european capital cities are safer in general. But based on your experience in Paris I think it should be okay!
Yes, it's possible, I can't judge for sure if it's safer in big cities in Western Europe or Eastern Europe. 😅
3 minutes ago, Tori13 said:I'm sorry if my post sounded weird, that's me, worrying about getting back to a hotel 5 months from now
You can always take a taxi or Uber. And if it's not too far, you certainly won't be the only person walking to the hotel after the concert.

I'm from eastern europe, I'm used to tough places but ... I've never been to western countries I don't know much about the western understanding of a "tough neighborhood"
I was only in Brussels for one day this year, but only in the centre and I didn't notice anything dangerous.
From a feeling, I would say that though neighbourhoods are tougher in Eastern Europe. I can't say much about Brussels, but I lived in Paris for six months and there are also though neighbourhoods. At night you shouldn't necessarily walk around there alone (but I did) and nothing ever happens. During the day there shouldn't be any problems, I would say.

I don't think I'm even going to turn in a submission anymore, there aren't enough instructions for me
If you sing to it, you're definitely not doing anything wrong (as they say in the contest rules "to sing along"). And if (many) people do lip-sync, the jury might use that too. They want creative people. They are creative people themselves and should be able to cope with that.
And maybe wait a bit. Perhaps Mika gives more info if he sees many people are confused.

This is what I though too based on the definition, until I started learning that it also means lip-syncing I'm surprised I never heard "playback" used in this way before.
I believe that "playback" is used in this way in German. And in German, playback singing means singing to a tape, e.g. singers who only move their lips during their concerts or they sing but you can't hear them live because there is the tape that is louder.

I’m confused about “playbacks,” today is the first day I’ve heard the word Someone told me it means to lipsync so now I don’t know what to do if I make a submission
Well, when I check the Cambridge dictionary the definition for "playback" is this:
I'm guessing that by "playback" they simply mean the recorded video of the fan. I don't understand that they mean lip-sync...- 2
Mika and the Rugby World Cup 2023
in Mika News and Press
Posted
I'm not sure if that's really the case or Mika just worded it badly, i.e. he took people who work with him away from their work in Hollywood to work on this project.
To be fair, Mika has also released a soundtrack album before the French album.
I wonder what his role was before? Why didn't they integrate Mika from the beginning when doing the anthems? Was it too expensive and in the end they had no choice but to ask him? Was he just a token patron and had to smile into the camera?
Yes, I'm afraid @carafon is right. Nevertheless, they could have interrupted their conversations for 5 minutes, as it was only 5 minutes. I agree with Mika, longer would not have been good as people are there to watch the Rugby World Cup final and not a pop concert. How would we feel if 20 minutes of rugby was played before a mika concert? I wish more people would be like Mika and Jim Hamilton and accept each other (the music and sports world) instead of being against each other and that goes both ways.
Yes, the sports fans would have had more fun if Mika had sung the anthems instead of his songs. But of course it's better for his career, so other people get to know his songs who otherwise don't listen to him.
Yes, agreed at an aftershow Mika could have sung longer, but how many people would have stayed in the stadium?
I didn't because I'm very busy and I know zero about rugby. I used to watch a lot of sport as a child and also as a young adult, but since rugby is not popular at all in Switzerland, I don't know it at all (at the most, I saw rugby in a short summary of a sports programme, but I can't remember).
I see what you mean. I saw the video of Mika's performance on Instagram that rugbyworldcup and Mika posted and the first comments that were there were people complaining about the game followed by posts saying Mika's performance sucked. Now it looks better. I understand that people are upset about the referee and so on, but do they have to post that everywhere, including Mika's performance? Yes of course they have to, they want attention. And yes, haters are everywhere... and the spectators in the stadium applauded for Mika.
Now for Mika's performance: Yes, it was great, but unlike the others, I didn't pay much attention to Mika's disco ball outfit, but to the colourful suits. 😅
