I had to stop and listen and think about my view of Hurts. (Remix from the album is my favorite version of it) It must to be about the beat, that even with the lyrick, it's hopeful for me. Like looking back after surviving from all of it. I had to listen it again and I got actually suprised, that lyricks are actually in presens. In my mind I'm in future.

The Remix is my favorite too, probably because it makes the sad lyrics a little happier. You do have a point about the survival aspect, too, which I never thought about much before 🙂I still love the song even when it makes me sad, because I like music that makes me feel something.

I also think it has an important message: that we need to think about the words we speak to one another as humans.

I agree with this too, I don't use my phone on Christmas day. Also Mika himself is going to be busy so surely he's more likely to see a fan action the day before anyway

I'm not probably going to use my phone on Christmas either, at least not for anything but family stuff. It seems like a good idea to post on the 24th to me :)

The last line is right, but the second's not. It's actually, "Truth be told, my problem's old..."

Sometimes even the "official" or published lyrics are wrong, not to mention the weird distortions you find on lyrics sites. (And if I see "stumble out my eyes" posted one more time by Mika's Facebook page, I think I'll scream! I mean, have they even ever listened to "Happy Ending"? :lol3: )

Thank you for the correction :) I never knew that one was wrong, but now that I know what it says, I like it even more because it sounds more interesting and Mika-like.

I think one of my favourite lyrics is from I See You:

For fear of what you might do
I say nothing but stare at you

My favorite lyrics are also from I See You, but they're these ones:

    Truth be told
    My problems solved
You mean the world to me but you'll never know
You could be cruel to me
Why go risking the way that I see you

Hopefully I got the last line there right, as I've read different variations. I'm going by what's in my sheet music book :)

The more I think about I See You, the more I think it might be my favorite MIKA song. There's something so beautiful and sad about it. It gives me chills. I feel similarly about By The Time.

Great idea for a thread, @kwmr. I've been wanting to start one but I haven't thought of anything yet!

    Hello everyone!

I kinda missed introducing myself when I first joined so I thought I'd do it now. Better late than never I guess! My name is Kimberly, I'm 25 years old and I'm from Germany. While Mika was not a new name to me and I had heard of him before (mainly because Relax was a big hit that was constantly on the radio when I was younger), I really only became interested in him shortly after Eurovision. I really liked his performance there, but didn't become a fan immediately. Instead, I saw a TikTok like a week after Eurovision of him performing Platform Ballerinas and I really liked it so I listened to that song and that song only for a few weeks. Then I decided to give the rest of his music a try and the rest is history!
Since I liked him and his music so much, I also went to the concert in Verona and had an amazing time there. It was definitely the best concert I've been to this year and might even be one of the best concerts I've ever attended (though One Direction in 2013 is still hard to beat lol).
I'll also be at the recording of The Piano next week because apparently I can't get enough of Mika :D Hopefully I'll see some of you there!

Hello and welcome @jatspeedy! I’m Lindsey from Indiana, USA. The first song that made me a true Mika fan was Dear Jealousy after a couple months of listening to some of his most popular songs here and there (Lollipop, Origin of Love, etc.), so I can understand how it took some time to become a fan. I’m happy to hear you enjoyed the concert and I hope you have fun at the recording! 😁

This is a fan-made item made by the wonderful Birgit (@Ida McFesch on Instagram, sorry I don't know if she's on MFC).

Just had to have it when I saw it and it's perfect for Mika gigs!

    This is so cool!

    I'm actually erring towards

Post on Insta, or twitter, or both!

    Write "Love from (country)"

Add # (to be decided by a poll)

And also @ him for that platform.

If we use these, won't it get confusing? We're already using the @ tag to specify that it is for him, and to make sure he sees it. The # tag is mainly to identify it as one cohesive group action rather than a bunch of random posts.

I'm actually erring towards #yomika! :naughty:

I like #yomika a lot now that I think about all the options.

  8. Hello and welcome to the MFC! I’m Lindsey from Indiana, USA. It sounds like Mika has had an extremely positive impact on your life. I’m glad that your first Mika gig was a good experience even if the audience wasn’t great.

  9. Hello and welcome! I’m Lindsey from Indiana, USA. I’m a much newer fan than you, but I find Mika inspiring in ways similar to you, both because I love speaking/learning multiple languages and because he helps me deal with memories of bullying from my past. I hope you enjoy being a part of the MFC!

  10. Hi and welcome@valsonder! I’m Lindsey from Indiana USA. I honestly think my singing has changed with Mika’s music, too. I’m very much into singing all of his songs since discovering him about a year ago. I hope you have a great time as part of the MFC!

Helllo All! My name is Brittany and I’m from Hamilton Ontario.
I’ve been a Mika fan for a long time but surprisingly it took me a long time to stumble upon this lovely group!

I still remember the exact moment I heard my first Mika song. I was sitting in a chapters book store when Lollipop 🍭 came on. I was instantly hooked, I went home and listened to the whole album. Mika’s music has been a part of my life ever since!

It’s so nice to see an artist who is not only a great musician but a truly great person. I’ve always listened to his music and known a little about him but I’m learning more and more about Mika on a personal level recently and what genuinely beautiful soul he has. It’s wonderful to read and see everyone talk about it here 😊

I love to listen to music doing almost anything, singing in the shower (of course), walking to work, doing chores around the house... etc but my favourite time to listen to music is when I’m running! Of course my running playlist is full of Mika songs! It’s just the perfect upbeat music to keep you moving when you need it most!!

Most recently my Mika playlist was put to a different use and greatly helped me get through the long recovery from a very difficult surgery 🤕

The most disappointing part was not being able to attend the Toronto live show 😕 which was clearly incredible!! (please come back next year Mika!🤞) but thanks to all of your photos and videos I can almost pretend I was there lol so thanks to everyone for their posts!!! 💕

I haven’t been on this site long but what little interactions I’ve had, everyone has been incredibly welcoming and friendly and just absolutely wonderful!!

Hello and thank you to everyone on MFC!!! 🥰

Hello and welcome, Brittany! I’m Lindsey from Indiana, USA ☺️ Lollipop was also my intro. to Mika as in the first song that made me look up his music, but I’m pretty sure I hard Rain and Talk About You years ago because they seem SO familiar to me. Lollipop was too unique to not look up, I just knew I was gonna like whoever as responsible for that song.

I hope you are doing better after your difficult surgery and have recovered fully. If any music can help you through a serious time, it’s Mika’s. I hope you get to see him in concert soon (he’s definitely at the top of my dream concert list as well), and I hope you enjoy being a part of the MFC!! See you around the forums 😁

Hiiii everyone! My names Cat, I’m 18 and I’m from Scotland. I only became a fan a few months ago ( better late to the party than never :) )when I discovered him through Eurovision.

Then after finding the rest of his music and binging every Mika concert I could find on YouTube I decided I wanted to see him live, and I was lucky enough to manage to get tickets to see him in London last month and it was honestly amazing!!! It was such a great night and easily one of my favorite concerts I’ve ever been to!!!!
Im super excited to be here and to be apart of the MFC community! : )

Hello and welcome! :welcomeani: I'm Lindsey from Indiana, USA. I've been a Mika fan for about a year now (the time flew, I can't believe it's been that long). I agree with you on the better late than never part

Glad to hear you had a great time at the concert! MIKA is Number One on my dream concerts list. For now, I'll be sticking to the YouTube binging haha. See you around the forums!
