Morning Musume

Recommended Posts

Okay, I shall not post anymore J-Pop randomness!

Some brief information:

This all girl group was created by a man named Tsunku under the company name of Hello! Project. Morning Musume was formed back in 1999 and is still going strong to this day! This is due to, however, the fact that members "graduate" and other "generation" begin, meaning that there are constantly new people in the group. No-one from the first four generations currently exist in the group. They are now experimenting exchange students, with two chinese girls added to the band recently this summer.

I am a huge fan of this group, and I wanted to post some of their songs (my favourites) because you can tell the changes in their J-Pop genre, the changes in girls and ... well...they're just really good, especially if you love happy hardcore xDDD

if you wish to view the lyrics and/or subtitles (not all subtitles are there) go to http://www.projecthello.com/momusu

Love Machine (just you wait till the chorus kicks in, you'll be begging for more!!)

Koi no Dance Site (first MoMusu song I heard...hahaha i had to post it xD) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7fEkQjtOxa0

The Peace! (no, I don't get the video either!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-8zX21IDtm0

Mr. Moonlight (actually not a fave but it's like a Jazz genre) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gt4X8_FMnXE

Shabondama (with subtitles!)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nXusW6Uq9K0

Aruiteru (so much fun to sing!)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BiqkJNtJ6Bo

Kanashimi Twilight (kinda rocky!)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IQYYo7x_DVc

Onna Ni Sachi Are (their most recent song, subtitles are there but not entirely readable)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Rx-w5g_JRA

OR, LISTEN TO SHORT CLIPS OF THEIR SONGS IN THESE "GREATEST HITS" VIDEOS! (in order of release)

(excuse the talking at the beginning, it has nothing to do with the video!)

ZOmmmmgg I didn't know this thread existed!!!!:biggrin2: I looooove Jpop! :D

My ipod is full with it! that when I push shuffle, I will get like 2 mika songs in 20 songs after another..:aah:

I started loving Jpop when I got into Lolita fashion, I found a video that was called; lolita sleepover, and they did a dance on one of C-ute's songs.. And I started liking it.. then I found another song of C-ute, and thats how it came on my ipod... by adding more and more..

I love every group of H!P! And I really like dancing on it! I follow Momosu the most now, bacause Risa is going to graduate in may, and I follow the new generations.. new favourites; Kanon Suzuki and Kudou Haruka!:biggrin2:

Also, I am following a little girl in Japan, who is dying to get into Momosu, and postes videos of her singin and dancing to all H!P songs, and some kpop songs..

I always felt a bit weird liking Jpop so much.. I have three friends who really like kpop, which I really don't.. and they call jpop rainbow music! But most of the songs aren't that happy.. so yeah.. And noone, exept for my niece, knows that I like dancing to it..

This thread reminds me of my childhood. I used to be a fan of Shanadoo. I had all the official posters, knew every song by heart and they were in Japanese :biggrin2: . Sadly this band didn't last for too long but I had so much fun with it. (Edit: I was just googlind them and it comes out they're still kind of active, just not in Europe anymore:D. There's so much to discover now)

I don't listen to J-pop that often anymore though. It can be good and I love their style but they all sound the same to me.

hmm to me that depends on what you are used.. I mean, I listen to all the Hello! project group songs, and I hear the different in their voices, but I have to admit, that some really sound the same, or they use the same samples..
