Sparkly poetry

Recommended Posts

:biggrin2: Just thought I would share some of my poetry with anyone who may be interested, I'm not really very arty with drawing (stick men are my limit lol), I can make pretty cakes sometimes, and I can sew dancing costumes and stuff, But poetry is what I have been doing the longest.

I hope it's ok to start a thread on my poetry (don't want to get into big bother).

anyway you can leave comments good or bad or if anyone has any ideas for improvements I am always open to suggestions.

I saw everyone elses beautiful art and stuff and this is probably the only art I can do (a bit) so I hope this is ok, if not let me know and I will delete it.

Enigma

I know not

Why warm tears trickle down my face,

Shamed and disgraced

At why my heart bleeds

........As it's...

...........Unnecessarily squeezed.

I fear the power of my own hands

At the times when; I dont understand,

The illogicality of my own mind

The place sometimes; where Im confined.

Days, nay moments,

Where I am the instrument,

and...

......Where to cease to be,

Consumes all of my rationality.

In my dark reclusiveness

I am quenched

While I obsess,

Torn and twisted in morbid agony

Exhausted and shamed by reality.

Cursed talons through my skull,

Drag out the evil demon scum,

Abhorrent superfluous prisoner,

Within the cowardly walls of my enigma.

Resting Wings

Run fast little one

a skip and a leap

chasing the magic

that's just out of reach.

stop for a breather

a puff and a pant

joy! the butterfly

thinks your nose is a plant.

Sepia glitz

She sparkles

within the rust

clogging her freedom

Arthritic movement

shrouding gems

of preciousness

Choking in

tarnished lustre

a sepia of her self

she's memorized

Silken cobwebs reside

where beats deafened, and

the throng of passionate essence

...was life

Rainbow twinkles

brilliant gleams

encased within years of

her ivory tower of memories

An ice sculpture

of daily torment; and

when it finally melts...

her life

will leave no mark.

EbonizedSkiespic.jpg

Ebonized Skies

Take me to

The ebonized skies

Oh Angel of light

Your aura compels me.

Cool lapping waters

Mingle chiffon to skin,

Pulchritude an enemy

Mine enemy within.

The bitter taste of salt

Dries upon silenced lips

Where if I die here

In this backwash,

Under your abandon

…I eclipse.

Passion usurped

Without consent

Eternal anaphrodisia

Scarred…dead.

No tides can purify

No sands can sift; and

Like a message

In a bottle

This your sin, will drift.

Submerge my soul

Red as the sea

But remember this,

I shall avenge thee.

Familiar Face

She was there tonight,

The little girl with freckles on her nose.

She looked up at me with blue mischief eyes,

Smiled…I blinked, and she had gone.

I missed her presence, wished her back but,

Deep down I knew her visit was brief,

And with her she took my youth,

Bundled into the potato print bag she made in school

And proudly carried about her person

Because, her muse’s name was designed into it.

And it was over spilling with who she used to be.

But not the sad bad stuff...

I reached out towards the mirror,

I wanted to touch re-capture

Some of that sparkle that once was me,

The little girl with freckles on her nose……

She was there tonight.

Silenced Strings

The sallow pauperised

Fingers of the soloist

Hover teasingly in

Glaciate anticipation,

A breath away from

Silenced strings

Yearning, aching

For your expert touch

To strum life

Once again

But here I stand…preserved

Within your rigid grip,

Growing ever colder

In this underused subway

The overused ivory pick

Forever swallowed

Within the belly

Behind oxidized

Silenced strings.

Found a very dark one I wrote a few years ago, I can't find my other ones just yet.

Susceptible reflections

Reflected is the image

Of my future

The path that beckons

is brightly lit

With bloodstains and death

I cannot escape

Cannot run away or even turn my head

Death follows me

Like the eyes of her portrait

Teasing, tantalizing me

With every way I turn

It wants me, THEY want me

To make them feel…

normal.

Images flicker their way into

my tormented youth.

Cut, slice, bleed scar

Slice cut scar bleed scar

Image, normality

Normality image

Youth, bleed.

Information overloads normality.

I model your image

I reflect back your saboteur,

You are my mirror

As I am yours.

Wow, you are right that is a very dark poem, and it kinda hit quite hard. I really got into the poem (I know, it shows just what my mindset is like) the imagery was very real and the images of death and blood was chilling yet very real and I liked it (god how bad does that sound?)

Anyway all I mean is that it is a really good poem and althout you have used personification and metaphor the feelings behind it all seem very real and raw!!

might as well give this a try - i wrote this for my auntie when se died of breast cancer many years ago its only a short one

a sunset on a beautiful beach brings memory's of you

memories so soft and sweet

of love that was more than true

you went away but the mighty sea will never break us apart

my love for you is strong and true and will last forever in my heart

  • 3 weeks later...

dug this one up (it was published a fair few years ago now)

The Lords My Shepherd.

I was taken quite unawares,

While I sat and watched T.V,

A congregation singing in the distance,

As a part of my life remembered itself to me.

I sang along to every word,

I was back in song with my class,

I pictured it so vividly,

It was like being frozen in the past.

The song rang out all around,

And I felt happy and yet kind of sad,

A melancholy hazy daydream,

With every friend I ever had.

Then all too soon it was snatched back,

Leaving an aura of a nostalgic hollow,

And a little worry at my brow,

Of how fast come those tomorrows.

I love poetry that comes straight from the heart like this one, it's such a beautiful way to express yourself.

found another one lol, bit darker though.

No-Mans-Land

She wears a dark purple cloak,

With a satin sheen inside,

Some days she pulls up the hood,

And this is where she hides.

Her head is bowed towards her feet,

As she musters all her strength,

“Hold on hold on, do not let go,”

She’s keeping it all at arms length.

There in the shadows where cobwebs hang,

And her inner fetal child still weeps,

Are mocking echoes that go un-silenced,

They suffocate her; even while she sleeps.

She sees the child in much distress,

But cannot quite outstretch her hands,

Unable to forgive or love her,

She leaves her chained in no-man’s-land.

Everyday Angels

How do you give love so freely?

In the darkened room of trust

Where peace and tranquillity twist

And swirl in warm hues of twinkly dust.

It’s where an angel kisses hearts

With her pure unconditional love,

Gentle harmonies and soothing sounds

Infuse the cradle of hand in glove.

She wraps shards of glowing plastic

Into small and helpless hands

Takes them from their poisoned bodies

To a warm and special land.

In the psychedelic womb of

Delicate fragrances and bouquets

She gently whispers through her caring smile as

Precious cargo peacefully plays.

And she is a very special lady

With the patience of a saint,

Radiating cheer in a cave of rainbows

Cushioning all the angels she paints.

I wrote this one after watching a programme on tv that touched me
