  1. Yes, he is, but he's only 5ft 10in (the same as me!). By tall, I mean 6ft or over.
  2. Once you've pre-ordered your tickets and given the credit card details etc, does that mean that you'll absolutely definately get the tickets? I ordered mine yesterday, but now I'm getting a little paranoid that it's not guaranteed.
  3. Now you're talking! I'd like to know whether or not Mika actually likes Marmite himself. I guess that he does because it would be strange to compare his music to Marmite if he wasn't a Marmite lover. I know that Mika's virtually perfect, but I suppose it's a bit too much to hope that he's vegetarian too. My ideal bloke is tall, dark, skinny, intelligent and vegetarian, so I know that Mika's at least 80% perfect! (My husband fits 4/5 categories, so he scores pretty highly too)
  4. "I will buy Marmite and bath in it, eat it and sleep with it " Blimey, I'm a Marmite lover, but even I haven't tried that! .....or is this me getting my Mika obsession muddled up with my Marmite love? If I had to choose between Mika, Marmite and a creme egg I wouldn't have to think twice.............
  5. When I first read the post, I thought no way! After thinking about it, I've decided that you might be onto something. Do you think that he's Little Richard and Freddie Mercury's surprisingly good looking, secret love-child?
  6. Freddiesdouble- I used to agree with you on everything, but I don't love you anymore! If I can love creme eggs, why can't you love Marmite?
  7. Marmite on toast is the best breakfast in the world. Marmite sandwiches are good, especially with cheese. Marmite is lovely on crackers. Marmite makes cheese on toast extra tasty. But the best thing about Marmite is that you can make a really tasty vegetarian gravy out of it. I fry onions in butter, then add a huge dollop of marmite and some water (or even better, use the water that you've boiled the vegetables in). Use cornflour to thicken it and then you'll have the best veggie gravy ever. Lovely!
  8. Don't you think it's weird that Mika's music has so many identifiable influences and yet sounds so completely different to anything else? When listening to the album, I'm constantly spotting bits that remind me vaguely of other songs or other singers/bands, yet the overall sound is distinctively new! I can't quite work out how he manages to do this and to have such a talent at only 23 is totally amazing.
  9. "I'm Melissa an anonymous mikaholic for few weeks now and i don't want to cure myself!!" Welcome to where all the hopeless cases end up, you're in the best place and we'll do what we can for you!
  10. What is marmite? -Only the most gorgeously tasty spread you can buy! You might know Veggemite, Marmite's wimpy and bland Australian cousin (a very poor substitute). You can even buy Marmite flavoured crisps here in the UK and they are fantastic. I have to confess to loving creme eggs too.............
  11. I just found this old interview from back last October. I guess that many people here have read it before, but I hadn't and thought that some of the new members might enjoy it. (I didn't put it on the press release board because it's so old!) http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/a37640/mika.html
  12. I love Marmite (I have a whole recipe book of things to make using Marmite!) When I go abroad I always take a jar of Marmite with me in case I can't get it. I agree with what he said about it being a Marmite album. In fact, Mika is a Marmite performer. Most people I have spoken to have a strong opinion of him, which you can't say about many acts these days. Most current bands and singers are dull, dull, dull compared to Mika.
  13. Welcome Gill. If you are totally mad about Mika, then this is the only place to be! You are so lucky to have won the T-mobile tickets. Lots of us entered and not many won (me included, boo hoo......) There are a surprising number of us older fans here, but age is no barrier to taste. I'm also married with 2 children and I used to be a teacher in a previous life, so you're not alone. I think that you're going to love it here!
  14. Thank you everyone for all the replies. Since I started this thread, things have changed because of the new dates in May. I've just ordered myself tickets for the Birmingham one, which gives me plenty of time to find a Mika-fan either in real life of from here to go with. I am so excited!!
  15. I've just booked mine for Birmingham and I'm so happy I could burst! Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. My choices are almost the same as Big Girl's Favourites: Grace kelly (my current favourite song ever) Lollipop Over my Shoulder Least favourite: My interpretation It's unusual to get an album with so many brilliant songs on. All of them are good enough to be a single, but if I'd been able choose the next one I'd have chosen Lollipop rather than Love Today.
  17. That's brilliant news! Now I don't have to pay £35 a ticket from Ebay to go to Birmingham and I've got plenty of time to sort out who to go with. (Plus I have a big birthday coming up in May!) You've made my day
  18. 'Enjoyed the music, but what was he wearing? That top was truly hideous!!!!
  19. If I do manage to get tickets I'd definately like to meet up with anyone from here that is going. I can't indulge in my Mika obsession with my "real-life" friends because they just don't get it! -Boring lot, they don't know what they're missing.
  20. Sorry, Divine Mrs M and WillyB, I looks like I'm ignoring you, but my post overlapped with yours. I think that the other person isn't going and yes, WillyB, I'm tempted to follow your advice. Providing he's not a rapist or a murderer (both very unlikely!) I don't really care. He could be brown, he could be blue, he could violet sky......I just want to go!!!
  21. It's the Birmingham one. I would be brave enough to go to it on my own, but I couldn't possibly drive there without someone to navigate! (plus, the tickets on Ebay all seem to be sold in pairs) It's a good idea to try and meet up first, but I don't think that I've got enough time for that. At the moment I'm watching the tickets on Ebay and seeing how much they go for (a lot!!!!!!). I doubt that anyone who isn't a real fan is going to pay a huge amount for their ticket and I can't afford to subsidise someone else. What a dilemma...........
  22. Andy Guy wrote "ppl want to know as they may harbour desperate fantasies about celebs and need to know if they stand a chance" As a married mother of 2, living in the sticks and old enough to be Mika's Mum I know exactly what my chances are, but it doesn't stop me dreaming!
  23. I need some advice please: I am totally desperate to go and see Mika at the venue nearest to me. There are quite a few tickets for sale on Ebay and I want to buy 2 of them. (I wouldn't be happy doing the journey on my own) None of my friends are into Mika and I can't help thinking that it would be much more fun to go with another fan. My husband has said that he'll come with me if he has to, but it would be wasted on him. I have always thought that people who meet up with others that they've met on the net are completely mad, but that was before I started this Mika obsession! But.......... There is someone (male) here on the board who lives quite near to me. Would it be stupid to ask them if they'd like to come? It's not as if I can't just ask straight out " are you a weirdo?"!
  24. I love every track too, but has everyone else got an annoyingly long gap between Happy Ending and Over my Shoulder? I thought that it was the end of the CD the first time I listened to it and missed the last 2 tracks!
  25. Yep, yours certainly was much better, Jemmalee! I got much more of a sense of excitement and wonder reading your write-up than in his crummy review. I would have loved to have been there, so thank you for a great posting.
