  1. I thought that Love Today was next! (and I think that Lollipop is by far the better single).
  2. Brilliant! Congratulations and thank you to everyone who runs this wonderful site. I see that the number is up to 1066 already, so it must be increasing really quickly now. Are we numbered as we register and if so, is there any way of finding out what number we are? -I can't remember how many members there were when I registered, but I would be interested to know.

    Hi!

Hello there and welcome! One of our most regular visitors here is from Estonia (Nicole, where are you???) Spread the Mika-love in Estonia!
  4. Me too! I think that the tiny "Jim Morrison style" one on the front doesn't look much like Mika, which is a bit disappointing. He's very photogenic, but often looks quite different in photos. He looks very young on the inside cover. (not that I've been studying the booklet that closely......... )
  5. Hello and welcome to the best place to be to indulge in your Mika obsession- you will love it here!
  6. Yes, they completely stole the show (but them I am slightly biased, seeing as I went there mainly to see Queen) I really enjoyed Status Quo too! I was only 18 and went to London on the bus with my younger sister and 3 friends. My Dad took me to Cardiff at 5am to get the tickets and I had my A level chemistry exam the next day, so I didn't get much revision done! It was very exciting just to be there and I loved every minute of it, despite dehydration, sunburn and missing the last bus back and spending the night at Heathrow bus station! Happy memories................
  7. I've got the lyrics for 3 tracks too: Grace Kelly Lollipop Love Today. It is all great stuff, no rubbish tracks at all.
  8. Thank you. I think that I should be more adventurous and listen to more new things. My problem is that I really hate listening to things that I don't like (which is most chart stuff) and find it too irritating to hold out for the good music. I am in danger of becoming an old fart stuck in my ways! :naughty:
  9. Hmmm, not sure how much to say here. -I like being anonymous, but that seems a bit rude now that Freddiedouble has introduced himself to everyone! I am 39 years old (40 a few days after I see Mika in Birmingham!), I live in Wales, I am married with 2 wonderful children aged 6 and 4. I gave up teaching many years ago to work in horticulture, which I only do part-time, when the children are in school. I love gardening, cooking and Morris Minors. After originally falling in love with Marc Bolan, I discovered Queen, and since then nothing had matched up to them and I haven't been really passionate about any music until now. Here's my boast to make Freddiesdouble jealous: I saw Queen at LiveAid in '85 and at Wembley in '86!
  10. Freddiesdouble: You have very similar taste in music to me, so I'm going to look up some of those bands you mentioned and see if I can find more stuff that I like. This is a daft question, but I have to ask it- How do you hear new music? I couldn't possibly listen to radio 1 and radio 2 is ok, but is almost all old music that I already know. I listen to radio 4 a lot, which is why I haven't got a clue about music. :naughty: None of my friends are into current music, so I don't know where to look.
  11. I thought that Love Today was brilliant. It wasn't one of my favourites originally, but it has really grown on me and it was certainly great tonight. My only criticism of the show is that the Mika's vocals were too quiet, particularly during Grace Kelly, but apart from that I enjoyed it.
  12. I did order them from see tickets, which worries me slightly, but I'm so desperate to see Mika live that I'd have bought tickets from Beelzebub if he'd been selling them first!
  13. I have avoided answering this thread until now due to embarassment, but I've decided to own up! I was so bored with music that I haven't really listened to (or enjoyed) anything new for about the past decade. I realise that this made me looks like a complete weirdo. I haven't even heard of half the bands on most people's lists. Mika is the only sound that has grabbed me for ages, so I'm feeling very excited about not spending the rest of my life with a 20th century record collection! :naughty:
  14. I disagree. I think that it's really only the sentiment behind the words that it similar. The tune, the arrangement and the style are all quite different. If when you are listening to it you imagine other words about something completely different, it suddenly doesn't seem much of a similarity! I'm sure that Mika wouldn't be so obvious as to rip off both the tune and the words of another song -he's far too clever for that.
  15. Maybe I shouldn't have used the word "love-child" originally. -It's slightly misleading if we're being technically and biologically correct.
  16. Thank you Cautionary Wife. I am very pleased not to have to ring that helpline, but thanks anyway and no, I didn't print off or save the screen, I really am that useless......
  17. It's a while since I did my genetics degree, but the last time I heard, it wasn't possible for 2 people with the y chromosome to produce offspring.
  18. It's there!!!!!!!!! Thank you so much Strudel. I would never have thought to look in my spam folder (I am a total clutz with the computer!) I can go to bed happy now. Thanks again
  19. Oh, I'm worried now, because I haven't had a confimation email yet. Do they usually come immediately, like when you order from Tesco?
  20. I've had a few years of buying "best of" albums too. Isn't it just great to find some music that good enough to shout about at last?
  21. I like it!!! Marc Bolan was my teenage crush! When I played one of my friends Grace Kelly for the first time she asked if it was T-Rex, which I thought was weird because I can't see any similarity. ps I used the word surprisingly meaning that Little Richard wasn't exactly good looking, rather than it being a comment on the genetic impossibilty!
  22. Hello and welcome to the best place for Mika-lovers. It doesn't matter if your English isn't perfect, if you love Mika, then you'll love it here!
