  1. I see you!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQoeSh3nZwM&feature=sub

That site is not easy to use: think I managed to get one vote for you through.

thank you. :thumb_yello: you can vote once per day. :biggrin2:

well, the site asks you to register with your e-mail-address, then you have to click the confirmation link in the e-mail (they're also sending you the password for future log-ins with that mail :wink2:), and then you have 10 votes per day, which you can use for 10 different people. so in case you find any other mika fans on there, please vote for them too! :thumb_yello:

i have 7 votes so far, and am NOT in the top 10 yet (that's what the site tells me when i log in). those fans who get to the top 10 will be featured on the site (that's why i want a mika fan to be in there), and a jury then chooses the first place who'll win a trip to the mtv awards in madrid. i doubt they'd choose me (the TH fans are a lot crazier, lol! :roftl:), but like i said, i took part mainly to promote mika, not to win that trip. :wink2:

  2. ok, that's not really a voting, but i just found a competition on the web where you can show that you're the biggest fan (of any artist), and win a trip to the mtv awards in madrid: http://www.swift-fanaward.com/en/home/ - there are mainly tokio hotel fans on there so far, i guess it'd be a good promotion for mika, if some mika-fans took part as well. :biggrin2: we definitely have a lot to add to that "biggest fan" thing, with all the things we do for mika. :naughty:

so, have any of you registered as a fan there too? it's a shame you can't search for artists, but just for fan names on the site! :aah: dunno if any other mika fans are on there - if any of you are, or you find any mika fans on there, please let me know, then i can vote for you/them... everyone who registers with their mail address can vote for 10 different people per day, and i'd love to see some mika fans in the top 10, who get in the final round. :biggrin2: in case you wanna vote for me, my profile is http://www.swift-fanaward.com/en/vote/profile-vote/detailv/mellody/all/0/mellody/ :wink2:

  3. I think it's particularly hard for people who were brought up as Catholics, to break away. No matter how much they want to, they never seem to be able to shake off the the teachings of childhood, even when they say they don't believe what they were taught.

hmm, maybe that's true for those whose parents were really strict catholics, who teach their kids that god will punish them if they ever leave church, or anything like that... i guess stuff like that might stick with you. or if you're part of your local church community, you have friends there, and although you don't agree with everything the pope says, you don't want to leave this community (not every priest agrees with the pope either...). but i was brought up as a catholic, and left church as soon as they wanted taxes from me. :bleh: i had to go to church every sunday as a kid, and from age 6-10, i even went to a catholic school, where 90% of the teachers were nuns. but i stopped believing in god at some point, like i stopped believing in fairytale figures like santa claus or the easter bunny.

i must admit though that i'd probably still be a member of the catholic church, if i didn't have to pay taxes for it. so in a way, you might be right. it's just such a common thing that you grow up with, that it feels weird to leave - like a club you've belonged to all your life, even if the purpose of the club doesn't have any meaning to you anymore, you still feel some sort of loyalty. it's childhood memories (i remember how happy i was at my First Communion, because i got to wear a pretty dress, and got many presents), it's the celebrations that i wouldn't want to miss (like christmas or easter), it's the things you grow up with that you always think you'd be doing some time in your life, because it's just "normal", and/or a family tradition (like getting married in a church in a white dress, or having your kids baptized). and well, tbh, i wouldn't want to miss childhood memories like that, and i don't know yet what i'll do if i have kids. it's just traditions, and something you can hardly get away from - like, try to ignore christmas, guess that'd be quite hard. :bleh: especially for children, if all their classmates and friends are celebrating it.

  4. Although I don't believe at all, I love visiting churches (the buildings), looking at the art, at the architecture, .... I'm always in awe with that....but I also have that with mosques, synagogues, etc...I just love beautiful buildings. :wink2:

    same here. :biggrin2:

it's so fab that mika is doing this column, it's just like a blog. :wub2: AND even better, we know that we'll get a new one every month. :fangurl: btw, do we know for how long this is going? end of this year? 12 months? longer? :dunno:

  5. Me neither, I can't help you there...

Perhaps you should ask some of the Mika hardcore fans like mellody or so: They have heaps of experience with this. I am sure they'll be glad to help you.:wink2: The tics I bought for Vamp. W. I could print out on my printer right away. Just have to take the sheets to the gig. Very good idea, I think. Dunno if there is such a possibility in HK?

what, i'm a hardcore fan?! who told you?! :aah::naughty:

i had a similar problem with the mika tickets for italy, shipping was 20 or 30 euro - and so the tix for the first italian gig i got from one of the italian mfcers (they bought them for me at the box office), and for the 2nd i bought them when i was in italy for the 1st one. :naughty: for helsinki there were print-out tickets, so no shipping, and in riga there was an option to pick up the tickets at the box office. so well, i always had other options... :dunno: but if that's the only website that sells the tickets, they don't offer other options, and you don't know anyone who lives in that country - i guess there's only the chance to either get tickets on ebay, or buy them on the day of the gig when you're there. for mika gigs, there are nearly always tickets left, if not at the box office, then you'll get one from someone in the queue. but of course i have no idea what that's like for mgmt. :dunno: and of course it's always a certain risk.

  6. Has it posted ??

Mika !

what does it say? will mika's wax statue be there from sept 20?

  7. From AID's site (Italian Dyslexic Association)

We are new dyslexic generation”.

    --------------------------

INJECTION OF ENERGY AND CONFIDENCE IN YOURSELF

This is what Mika left the dyslexic children, like himself, who attended - Wednesday, July 7 - his concert at Villa Manin in Passariano, under the writing "We are dyslexic new generation".

"Don't lower the banner," he told them from stage.

The energy of Mika, his genius, his talent, his kindness and simplicity have been able to involve everyone in an exciting show, which wasn't not only seen but also lived with him.

And at the end of the concert he spent a few minutes with the guys of the AID group of Pordenone, encouraging them, telling them that, although dyslexia makes school difficult, you can be successful in life (he is the proof).

Then he stood among them, like a friend, for a photo under the same banner, raised proudly.

Great thrill for these guys, who'll bring his words in their hearts forever.

THANK YOU MIKA! and thanks to his team, who allowed this meeting.

The Gazzettino Pordenone July 10, 2010

aww, only just seen this, that's sweet! :wub2: t4p!

  8. ok, that's not really a voting, but i just found a competition on the web where you can show that you're the biggest fan (of any artist), and win a trip to the mtv awards in madrid: http://www.swift-fanaward.com/en/home/ - there are mainly tokio hotel fans on there so far, i guess it'd be a good promotion for mika, if some mika-fans took part as well. :biggrin2: we definitely have a lot to add to that "biggest fan" thing, with all the things we do for mika. :naughty:

  9. Mika:When he will be finished, im going to go there and give him a big kiss! Because the other Mika is the perfect partner for me. I wouldnt be lonely anymore with him. *laughs*

Host: Mika, in his new house in London, with his statue from the Grévin museum that he will bring home.

Mika: I'm gonna bring him home and put him in my bed, and say"ah its okay, lets get married, we'll be fine." *laughs*

    :lmfao::lmao: LOOOOOL!!! :lmao:

    thanx for translating! :thumb_yello:

  10.

thanks for that! :biggrin2: this made me remember that i read an URL on some photographer's clothes, and indeed there are more pix on there: http://www.konzertbilder.ch/ :wink2:

and at least one pic on the festival website as well: http://www.summerdays.ch/galerie.php#

and tina, the clothes you made were absolutely fab! :wub2: my mum even thought you were a professional seamstress when she saw them. :biggrin2:

edit: ah, there's a pic of nezza! :bleh:http://www.konzertbilder.ch/details.php?image=17153&menu=2

  11. Jimmy seemed very impressed by the face make up, didn't he?

Was he videoing or taking loads of pics?

not sure... if he took pix, at least he didn't use a flash. :dunno: so i thought he was videoing - but maybe statue or someone else has seen it better? :dunno:

edit: i noticed that the LT shooting scene (with dr jimmy :naughty:) hadn't uploaded... here it is again:

    :wink2:
  12. thank you everyone for the comments about the present, i'll let the others know, who aren't on here. :biggrin2:

also wanted to open an extra thread for it, telling the whole story and everything, but with all the discussions that followed arbon, i thought/think it's better to wait a few weeks with that. :wink2:

btw, love it that he remembered marianne's mika-ken-doll! :biggrin2: we hadn't done much with the dolls themselves, most were bought on ebay for 1-2 euros, and we just did their make-up/hair, and of course the costumes. so marianne, if you ever feel like making him dolls for the band too, he can substitute our ebay barbies with really goodlooking ones. :bleh::naughty: although i really must say kudos to statue, who did the white face-make-up for all the dolls with my paint marker at 3am in the morning, and it looked fab! :biggrin2:

  13. I'm sure he was there when we got round there.

It was pretty quick when he came out to us, when we got in there, I was quite surprised thinking we'd have to wait.

really? that's weird, we didn't see him. :aah: well, like i said, we only spotted him when he was talking to you, so in any case it couldn't have been saskia who let out a startled shout. :naughty:

totally agree, the cake was delicious!

  14. So John told us to follow him and we walked around this very windy walkway, to the back, and Saskia who was in front with her talking flower walked around this large pillar and was confronted by Mika standing there, and she let out a little startled shout, and turned back to us and said "he's here". Mika then walked round saying hello to us, then came over to Me and Jazzy and asked me how I was. I gave him some presents, first a toy for the dog, and asked if she was wary of squeaky toys, but apparently she's afraid of nothing. Then I gave him a birthday present I got made by a very talented jewellery maker I know, a moose head, yes, his nickname really is Moose, and he seemed to like it, as he wore it for the rest of the time we were there. Then I gave him the clog keyring we got from Amsterdam. This was quite funny.

Me. "This is for you, please don't hurt me!"

    M. (big sigh and rolls his eyes) "You know I was looking at my phone the other day, and saw a the picture of them, and thought I really must send them to her"

    Me. "Oh good."

    M. (Looks at clogs) "Would it count if I sign these and give them back to you?"

Me. "How big are the other clogs?"

    M. (Shows me with his fingers that the other clogs are bigger) "About this big"

    Me. "No it wouldn't count"

    M. "Okay"

    :naughty:

He then said he'd be back and left the clogs and dog present, along with his beer, to go and chat to some more people.

haha, your clogs conversation made me LOL! :roftl: wondering bout the first sentence i quoted though... mika wasn't there when we walked in, was he? it took about 5-10 minutes til he came, we were all sitting around, and saskia+me only noticed him when he was already talking to you. actually, we first noticed that john had come back, and then... oh look, there's mika too!:naughty:

  15. here is a pic of the banner after the signing of most of us

thanx for posting the pic of the banner! :flowers2: i hope mika got it, shame you couldn't hold it up during the show - which i still find weird really, i mean, they let kids in front of the barrier, and even let us put our plastic bags there, once mika was on - but banners they forbid?!:doh:

Btw, do you remember which band the bass player was in? I usually have a crush for bass players, LOL.

i thought the one of dada ante portas was rather cute, maybe monie meant him? (3rd from the right, though i guess it's not the most favourable pic of him :naughty:)

    2rn7kts.jpg

And no, I am not jealous of your jumping-pictures :mf_rosetinted: Not. at. all. :mf_rosetinted:

they're blurry, i'm sure you'd have better ones if you had caught the right moment. :biggrin2: guess next time i'll warn you "there's a jump coming now!", instead of trying to take a pic. :bleh:

It's absolutely amazing, so much work!:wub2:

    Thank you for showing it!

Sorry I haven't had a chance to read any of the thread but I saw the video of the gift. Loved Mika's reactions, especially when he said he couldn't wait to show it to Es Devlin and that you were making him miss his set. Great job guys!

    thank you. :huglove:

  16. my pix+vids didn't turn out as well as usual this time, it's easier to keep a steady hand in front row than it is in the 2nd... though i definitely can't complain bout my place, i had a very good view since i stood behind tina, and during mika's gig itself there hardly was any pushing where i was standing. :original: anyway, here they are:

some of the vids are still processing, no idea why that's taking ages today, but you might have to wait a few more hours til they're visible. :wink2: i also have one of yasmine looking at our present, won't post it publicly, but if anyone's interested, let me know. :wink2:

  17. monie, i love that pic of jimmy with the sunflowers, really beautiful! :-)

couldn't find the energy to write a report til now, due to all the discussions in the other thread, but i've uploaded my pix+vids now, and can post some impressions of that day, for those who want to read it. ;-)

    • about the show i agree, it was good, but we had the feeling that mika was in a weird or bad mood. don't think it was just the tiredness, he must've been at least as tired the following day in poland, and from what i heard, that show was absolutely fantastic and energetic. :-D maybe it was the crowd, apart from the mfcers it just didn't click between them and mika. and i guess he gets lots of his energy on stage from the crowd.
    • for the first time in ages i stood on jimma's side of the stage, 2nd instead of 1st row for a change, since because of working on the present til last minute, we only arrived at 1pm. imma was so sweet, when they left at the end of lollipop, she took a (full) water bottle from the stage and gave us an asking look whether we wanted it. :wub2: she then threw it, but it went too far, so those behind us got it. didn't matter though, as we had enough to drink in the car. :-)
    • mika said before SITM that this was the last festival of the tour, and the day after wouldn't be a festival but a gig. this confused us a bit, and well, indeed we were right and he was wrong. :naughty:
    • i was absolutely tired and knackered, since the last days and nights before the gig, i had done nothing but trying to finish that damn present we had for him, a barbie-doll-sized toy theatre of his arena tour stage set, which we had started planning already back in april. i never would've thought it'd be THAT much work, and already was thinking that nothing and no one would be worth all of that! :aah: but of course that was just the stress - simply seeing our finished project made me really proud and happy, apart from the last few stressing days it was lots of fun to make it, and some of us even said we'd love to keep it to ourselves instead of giving it to mika. :naughty: and mika, well, he was the best, as always. :wub2: he spent ages looking at every detail, even asked most who were there which part they had done, and he said he'd show it to es devlin. :fangurl: and that it was no problem for him fixing the broken parts (the keyboard had fallen off its platform during the transport), since they had to do that with their stage props all the time. :roftl: i doubt that he'll in fact do it, but him saying it was very sweet. :wub2: it was also very sweet when he went a bit sentimental after telling us that the set had been destroyed because they wouldn't use it anymore, and said "you make me miss the show now!" :wub2: well, you can see all of that in the video we made of the m+g, if you're interested. ;-)
    • then we took 2 group pictures, which statue already posted, and when mika suggested how we'd arrange ourselves there (that he'd stand next to statue and i should come over to his other side), it turned out that he indeed knows my name. :swoon: i had told it to him a few times during the spring tour, for autographs, but i had no idea that he in fact remembered it - aww, that made me sooo happy! :wub2:
he then thanked us for coming to the concerts, and said he'd be back in maybe 1,5 years, to which we looked disappointed and said "it's sooo long!", and he said "it's sooo short! so much work!" - LOL! very funny to see this difference in his and his fans' perception. *g* i think statue has posted the rest of the conversation already. ;-)
    • the drive back to munich went only well because statue kept me awake by chatting all the time... if she hadn't been there, i'd have had to sleep a few hours in the car before driving back, since i was so incredibly tired. xD but we arrived safely back in munich around 5am iirc... and since then i'm trying to catch up with all the sleep i missed. :roftl:
    • and i can't believe that this should've been the last time i've seen all of you guys for the next 1,5 years! *tears* i deliberately forbid myself that thought when we said goodbye... and i'm sure we'll find a way to meet - like an mfc xmas party or something like that. :-D (though a summer party would be warmer, lol! *rofl*). big hug to all of you!! *huglove*

pix + vids will follow in my next post. ;-)

  18. thank you for this. :flowers2:

he mentioned this in arbon, when he said he'd be away for 1,5 years now we asked whether he could keep us updated on twitter (to which he answered that he hated twitter), or in blogs/vlogs... to which he answered that he didn't have time for that, since he had to write this column, and he hated that too. :roftl: i guess he just hates writing texts, but prefers writing songs. :teehee:

what i find weird though is that he said it wasn't finished, he also said that on twitter, but it's in the magazine now. and from what i read here, it's a monthly magazine? i've worked for a monthly magazine in the past, and the stuff gets printed weeks in advance - maybe it's different for that magazine for some reason, but from all that i know there's no way that he could hand in an article for a monthly magazine just one day before it comes out, and it still being printed! :aah::naughty:

edit: ok, reading his tweets again, i guess he might've meant the 2nd part of it. :naughty: that'd make a lot more sense. :biggrin2:

  19. Mwa ha ha that was really funny!! I hope Mika didn't mind :aah:

nah, he was laughing his a** off. :naughty: just not sure if he liked that kiss, he wiped his mouth when he came running back on stage. :roftl:

:aah: ups, I think I need more sleep. :aah:

    don't we all? :naughty:

just looked at my pix, they indeed didn't turn out exactly clear. but will post some anyway. got 2x flying mika, if you don't zoom in it's not that obvious that they're blurry. :naughty:

  20.

Martin wasn´t there and was replaced by a guy called Marcus. Mika told us later that he wen´t to his best fried wedding. Markus had only 2 days to learn all the songs.

still tired? :naughty: it was david, not martin. :teehee: love the pic with dr jimmy, and the one where the crew guy with the pig mask is carrying mika off stage - not sure, but i guess it was the one who carried him off stage during the arena tour for the nightmare scene - we figured it might've been his last evening on the mika tour, thus this appearance in a BG outfit & pig mask. :naughty: he was kissing mika (with the pig mask on of course), and then picking him up and carrying him off stage. :naughty:

  21. thank you graciosa for the pix! :wub2: mine didn't turn out well this time i think, haven't had time to look properly yet, but think they're all quite blurry, just can't keep a steady hand in 2nd row. :aah:

gonna eat something now, and then start posting my report/pix/vids. :wink2:

btw, DA, the answer to the question you didn't ask this time but surely wanna know is no. :bleh: it was quite cold, imma was shivering when they came on - really cute, and we started shouting IMMA, IMMA..., which brought a huge smile to her face. :wub2:
