1. Oh, two months that's a lot of time :teehee:

Yes, I count the days. Can't wait! 8 days to the first semifinal! :boing: :boing:

Which songs are your favorites? :wink2:

    I know! :mikacool:

Yes, can't for all of the Eurovision craziness to start all over again!

Just watched some of the "first rehearsals" on youtube....

The Swedish song is not bad. And of course I'll keep supporting Jedward. Not a fan or anything. But they are fun a- plus I like their song.

Probably Russia is going to win though...

  2. Hello Eurovision people!

It's Eurovision time very soon! Can't believe we haven't written in this thread for almost 2 months! :teehee:

Anyways, I thought this thread needs to be bumped! :thumb_yello:

ONLY TWO WEEKS until the grand finale in Baku!

    :groupwave:

So keep the gossip coming! No time to lose :naughty:

  3. Congrats Karla! How shocked she must have been when she learnt about this?!

I think I would still be staring at my email box with eyes wide open .

Enjoy your win and your trip to one of Mika's shows! :groupwave:

I'm not sure why my name was mentioned already twice and I haven't said a word in this thread :naughty:

I thought that mentioning MFC and fundraising together was like a gesture from Mika. It was very generous from him to donate for the raffle to celebrate MFC 5 years anniversary. Secondly, asking people to register on MFC when donating was not only practical but also gave a feeling of MFC as his official fanclub.

This was a raffle. As long as it's properly done it's always fair, no matter Karla, Ingie of Deb wins. Everyone taking part was registered on mfc? I really can't see what's the problem

A nice amount of money was donated to the London Air Ambulance (which saved Paloma's life and has a special meaning to every Mika fan) :thumb_yello: Congrats Karla!!!! Enjoy your prize :biggrin2:

I don't see no problem at all. Was kinda surprised when I logged onto the forum today and read some of the comments....

The whole thing was great. Giving something and having the chance of winnig such an amazing prize. :thumb_yello:

  4. This is the representative for Finland. The song sounds really familiar, but I can't say why.

    http://youtu.be/InblQtjqxvQ

I actually really like it. It's not a winning song...But it really stood out from the other songs. And I like the melody to it. Really beautiful.

So, I watched the "songfestival" from Holland yesterday. I can't believe the song they picked... I think in this case they better went with the safe, typical eurovision performance à la Céline Dion....

    But this is their winner:

Hmmm...The song's ok. But she cannot hit thiose high notes. Her Dutch accent is cute though.

    What else have I missed?

I think it's funny that Jedward are back for Ireland. I was very surprised when I saw that the juries also voted them through, not just the audience. Waterline is kinda catchy I think.

I also finally listened to all of the other entries...

Albania: I don't really like it...Has a nordic flow to it though (reminds me a bit of Sigur Ros)

Iceland: Not bad but a little too sad for Eurovision

    Latvia: Don't like it....Johnny Logan gots a mention...hehe

    Montenegro: What's that?

Switzerland: I like it surprisingly. (though the singer can't sing at all)

Austria: lol...som much the Austrian version of the German "band" Die Atzen. Totally a song I could like when I'm REALLY drunk

Cyprus: That's how a Eurovision song should sound like. A little bit trashy, a lot of autotune, a catchy tune. A bit of a summer hit.

    Danmark: Really beautiful. I like.

Hungary: ok. better than many other entries.

    Israel: Boring

    Belarus: OMG, this is :shocked::boxed:

    Malta: not too bad...catchy, too.

    Ukraine: Hmm....she's SCREAMING....hmmm...

Bosnia: Couldn't find the song :boxed: (Anyone? :wink2:)

    Croatia: hmmm, boring

    Georgia: Are they serious?

Norway: Yeah, I still like the song. Very Eurovision-like. Nice.

    Slovenia: boring

    Turkey: Nice. (so "Turkish"...I like)

    Azerbaijan: zZzZzZzZ

    France: Great singer, bad song

Germany: Ok, I still like the singer + the song...:aah:

The other songs haven't been anounced yet. But it's not THAT many songs I like atm....:boxed:

Apparently Attomic Kitten will represent the UK...

So far I like (in no particular order)

    Finland

    Ireland

    Albania

    Iceland

    Switzerland

    Cyprus

    Denmark

    Malta

    Norway

    Turkey

    Germany

Dunno who my favourite is this year. Will wait for the other songs to be decided.

Anyways...already looking forwards to the show :D

  5. I can actually say that I LOVE the German song for Baku, too. It builds up to the chorus. And let's admit it, Roman is kinda cute, too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FWSCglF5Er8

ROMAN LOB - STANDING STILL written by Jamie Cullum :wub2:

(The only song I really liked from tonight's show)

Been listening to it non-stop for 2 hours now and I think it's getting better and better.

Can't believe it was sooo close (and yeah, they got me into sending a few text messages in, too :blush-anim-cl:). But now I am happy and I can start making plans for Eurovision. To me it's no longer important how he will be doing in the end...As long as I'm ok with the song everything is fine.

  6. hey guys, just want to tell i'm in Baku and i'm so excited about this competition cuz it'll be the first time in here and blah blah... anyone wants to come here?:aah::blush-anim-cl:

How cool is that? I'd be very excited if I were you!

So today the semi-final of the German pre-selection took place and - believe it or not - the only two I liked out of 20 contestants in the very beginning made it to the finals on Thursday: Ornella and Roman :thumb_yello: Looking forward to find out what song it's gonna be and what singer (Roman hopefully...Today, he did "Use somebody" http://www.unser-star-fuer-baku.tv/videos/player/index.html?contentId=129001&initialTab=related :wub2:). Nice, this show ends better than I would have ever thought.

  7. Thanks for sharing!

I like the Hungarian entry, Suzy. The French one is kinda boring. I actually REALLY liked her song "Song on the sahara" many years ago. She could do so much better.

Haven't really listened to many other songs yet...will do so tomorrow maybe.

Here's a list with all of the songs that have already been chosen/confirmed: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eurovision_Song_Contest_2012

No idea yet how the German entry will be...So far there are still 4 acts in the competition...2 of them are horrible...The other 2 could be "ok" if they get the right song...We'll see. Roman is most likely to make it though http://www.eurovision.de/videos/videoindex101_archiveID-videoarchiv173_videoID-usfb1103.html

  8. Norway also picked their entry tonight...and it's gonna be:

    Tooji with his song Stay

Well, all I say is: Eric Saade anyone?!:fisch:

The song is kinda trashy, BUT no one can deny it's catchy. I like the oriental touch to it. And it is a good song for Eurovision.

  9. Been listening a lot to Gotye since this summer - and I can't wait to see him live here in Munich in February. It's quite a small venue and he's only just started getting a bit more popular in Germany... :biggrin2:

  10. :naughty: and i frankly don't care about his shoes!!! i want an album!!!! :roftl:

Ok, you got a point there. :aah:

I really love this interview too!! :wub2: Lol, I agree about his shoes too, but I try to ignore them :naughty:

It's kinda hard to ignore them you know with all of that *bling bling*

(But then again: Who seriously wouldn't be wearing a gift from Mr. Loubi himself, so...) :biggrin2:

Love the interview. This is one change from 2007 I am happy to see. Thank you for your support Mika. We've been fighting for the right to say on MFC that you might marry a man for many years now. :roftl:

    ! Couldn't agree more, Christine.

About time really. Remember the whole: We don't Care campaign:naughty:

Oh yeah! "Straight or gay, we love him either way!"

    Those were the days! :wub2:

  11. It's normal for imported singles to be more expensive than usual ones.

Of course the song won't get any/a lot attention in the UK that way, but I guess that wasn't really intended.

There will be a first English single before the album gets released, and it wil definitely be very important for that one to work well...They should put all of their promotional efforts in this "job".

  12. Thank you for your report! :thumb_yello:

Sounds like an amazing evening!!! I considered travelling for that to Dammy, too (after all it WAS a special day :wink2:), but my trip to Traisen where Wouter and his band performed two weeks ago wasn't that good for my lovely bank account :naughty: So anyways, I couldn't be there unfortunately. I was there in spirit though. How many people were there at the theatre approximately?

But at least I know since this morning that my order of "Lohengrin" at bol.nl was succesful as it was posted today. Can't wait!

So far my favourite track on the album is the title song "Lohengrin" (beautiful lyrics!) and I also love "Skimming the skies".

I haven't seen videos of the evening yet on yt. Do you know if anybody filmed?

Oh, and your shoes DO look good! I'd say never gona be wearing them again :teehee:

  13. it was an afterparty with sponser Hyundai card.

from his careful concern, fans were able to see a performance through the window.

he sang everybody's talkin, happy ending, under water, knocking on heaven's door, BIOTW.

Oh wow! Thank you so much for sharing this new video with us!

Plus he did "Everybody's talking" and "Knocking on heaven's door" :wub2:.

Do you know if anybody filmed during the performance?

BTW, Perez likes this new song, too :biggrin2:

    http://perezhilton.com/2011-09-21-mika-underwater-new-song

Yes! But it IS a very likable song, isn't it.

    yes, it was Mika.

at first it was private event, but opened to allow fans to see the performance from Mika's request.

    how sweet! :wub2:

How nice of him. I am happy you fans could see him perform there, too. :thumb_yello:

  14. Reading through this thread makes me go all :fangurl:

Can we keep this anticipation up until March? It's not often that I was so sure about something :wink2: Baby number 3 is awaited with arms wide open.

It's going to be amazing! :wub2: I hope he includes a song in German too....I loved it when he did a bit of a German song at one of his first gigs in Germany, back in 2007! It sounded amazing.

I am getting really excited now.

I say why not? :wink2: He was also doing a very small bit of "Liebesbotschaft" by Schubert once

("Rauschendes Bächlein, so silbern und hell...) Well, at least it would fit with the topic of love...

I don't really don't mind Mika singing in many different langages, it just adds a new layer/dimension to it :wink2:
