  1. How about keeping it for all Mika-gig/concert related? Especially feedback on how gigs went and stories on when the fans got to meet Mika - what they said/how they dressed/anything embarrassing?! I like the chat idea and the index of videos. All the ideas seem brilliant to me so far!
  2. Welcome!! Last time I was around Kent though, it was pretty cloudy...
  3. Sakina means peace/tranquility/calmness It's Arabic.
  4. lol, I sent him an e-mail/message through myspace months ago, before all the Mika hype I've long since deleted my account though, myspace is too full of spam! Besides, I wasn't able to befriend him on it : ( Somehow I didn't know his name.. :s and all my friends/relatives are on either Friendster or Facebook now.. Heads up, all my messages to him after that went un-replied to though.
  5. Math!! ahhhh Loved it during classes and sometimes even when during homework - just NOT the exams! Always never seemed to do well enough at math during exams... : s Just wondering, have your parents heard the whole 'Life in Cartoon Motion' album? I got my mother to listen to 'Big Girl' yesterday and she was like, "hmph, nothing unusual/unique with all the hype"... : s In my mind I went: O_O and started telling her about Mika, the singer.. I'm the only one whose into Mika in my home, except for my brother who loves 'Relax, Take it Easy'. They're tooo 3aadi, they need US to mika3ilaaj for THEM. *nods*
  6. Just sent mine off. Here's a copy:- Dear Oprah, I do not have a question, but I have a request. Could you please, please invite 'Mika' as a guest artist/interviewee to your show? He's got a brilliant personality that's unique and his merits includes being able to sing in almost five octaves. He's been through opera training, lived in Lebanon, Paris and London. His father's an American banker and his mother is Lebanese. He does a good cover of Shakira's hit 'Hips Don't Lie' and he's a got a really cute toothy smile! Above all that, he's pretty humble. I once wrote to him asking one of the silliest questions one can ask and he replied! So please Oprah, bring Mika on your show! Thank you and best wishes from Malaysia, Sakina I feel a bit dumb-like after re-reading the e-mail. I have been repeating this mistake of mine of typing the way I speak in letters. It is annoying to myself!!! I very seldom watch Oprah but I think it would be a very enjoyable episode if Mika is on it!
  7. You scored as a "Stuck In The Middle" You are thoughtful and daydreaming. A little bit melancholic. You always fight for what you care, you take care of yourself easily and your friends and family always feel safe with you. You love discovering new things by yourself, you are extremely curious, but you never against somebody teaching you new things. Why is it that: somehow lead me to think about sex? lol
  8. If you don't mind me asking, which country are you in? A few weeks ago, a former teacher, my friend and I went out to lunch. When he told me that his car was at the 'barking' I couldn't help but just laugh and laugh and laugh...on the insides then OUT LOUD when I drew a godawful picture of a dog and told my friend that it was meant to be 'barking'... It sounds stupid now that I recount the story haha then there was the 'groubaat' - plural for group hahahahaha
  9. I've had Egyptian teachers before I'll just all the mikaneen as I'm with graphic work and the like..
  10. Hello! I remember the first concert I went to...it was far from small but it was great! Can't wait till I get to go to my first Mika gig!
  11. I was going to say that the 3ilaaj itself was Mika! You know that saying, fight fire with fire? Maybe I'm sleepy and talking nonsense... No worries! bafham ellahjat elmaSri so no worries! Well, a7yanan ma bafhamsh but that's once in a blue moon..
  12. I'm...part Chinese, part Indian, a teeny part Malay and some Mongolian blood somewhere along the line!
  13. But can't we Mika3ilaaj anyway for those who like to make it? *gives out slices of double chocolate cake to whomever comes her way* xx ps-do I get to join mostashfet el Mika neen?
  14. Shanicka? : ) Do you know the meaning of your name?
  15. Ooo I wanna join! Can someone Mika3ilaaj for me?

  17. Hello! My name's Sakina! How's everyone doing? I first heard Mika way back in January through myspace. At that time, my internet connection was VERY VERY BAD so I only got to hear a bit of crackly melody here and there without any voice. With just that little bit of sound, I had a strong feeling that I'd like the whole song when I got to hear it! So I waited patiently about a week or so till I finally got to hear 'Grace Kelly' with the voice bits but still crackly, then finally a whole song (not so crackly)! It was (for the music that is..I hadn't discovered the singer enough yet then). After that, I decided to send Mika a message (at that time I still hadn't really googled him so it was a silly question now that I've googled him more than enough) and he replied! That was in January. Then shortly after the release of his album, I texted my Aunt whose in the UK and asked her to please buy it and mail it to me! Been listening to his album at least once a week since!! Thing is that I get annoyed just a little bit when I see articles on him in the local papers. 'tis a bad bad thing but I only feel annoyed because I know I discovered him before the majority of the locals (I'm in Malaysia) and he only started getting played on radio here in April/May (hardly listen to radio myself... ) and I first saw him being featured in the papers at the end of May/beginning of June. And now he must tons and tons of fans here. I no longer feel unique! Ahhh me and my silly selfishness By the way, any Malaysians regular these forums? *hides from them* My last obession (music) before Mika was The Cling who became Seeing Scarlet (http://www.seeingscarlet.com). They're not big but I really liked their early work as The Cling and still can appreciate their new stuff but they've lost my devotion. Hopefully I'll get to go to one of their gigs though before I one day see Mika in concert! Uhhh this is getting too long now! And I haven't said much about myself! Had better type something brief on that then.. Hmmm...Like I said in the beginning, my name's Sakina! Few friends call Kina (rhymes with Mika, doesn't it?! ). I'm enjoying the last bits of my gap year and hoping to start uni this September (still hunting for scholarship *sigh*). I enjoy baking healthy goodies, good music (been through music appreciation course), travel, reading, writing (when in the mood..usually when I'm down!) and ummmmmmm uhhhhhhh talking?! OK, I shall end this far too long introduction/first post here. Peace!! xox
