  1. I'll be there. Got my tickets, I look at them every day Something to recognize eachother? great idea! I'm coming from Ghent by the way. These glowing heart-things are a good idea. Where can we find them again? see ya!
  2. Just a short message to let you know that Relax is now number one in Belgium... Go Mika!!
  3. about the acoustic version of Relax: You're right! It's kinda strange, cause the other version is cool, and very dancable. But, the acoustic version has something dramatic. I don't know... when het sings the 'eeeasy' it gives me goosebumps. Maybe it's because that's the place where you can hear the beauty of his voice the best and not hidden by drums and guitars. Don't get me wrong, from what I've seen on youtube and the msn-performance, I really really like his live shows. But only him and a piano and maybe a second voice... it shows what it's al about. I would do anything to hear him do Over My Shoulder live! greetz, -Stien-
  4. That's great! You are right about Relax. In Belgium it is the most downloaded song on Itunes, and LiCM is the most-bought album. Not bad isn't it ;-) And in our chards, Relax was number 2 this week... hope it will gain another place... greet, -Stien-
  5. about Over my Shoulder: I can only agree. It consists only of 4 chords (is that correct English??) but the beauty of it is indiscribable! It's extremely sad, and when the second voice starts to sing I always have to stop doing what I am doing at that moment, and I have to sit down and just listen to it... Amazing. Even if you're not a fan of Mika, you have to admit that this songs is a masterpiece. It's also a good way to convince people of his talent. greetz, S.
  6. I don't think I have anything new to add here, but you must know that I think it's great to write your opinion here. I believe everybody here is a huge fan of Mika, and I think we all understand your frustration. My advice? Ignore all this negative publicity, I mean, you must know that it's there, and that they will always try to write horrible things about people that are more famous, but I have stopped to care about it. Same thing with the hate-clubs: they are only a way for people to get together, and they actually really don't care about what they are writing about, they only want to write negative things. I think (no: I hope, because I don't know him offcourse ;-) that Mika is strong enough as a person to handle these things, we all see how intelligent he is, how great he is with the press. And to finish (because this is getting way too long): he's new now, so everybody wants a part of him, to get the scoop. But I believe that once he's settled in the music-business, the hype will stop and it will be more easy for him to breathe. And than it will only be about the music! (maybe I'm naive, but sometimes that can be good:wink2: ) greetz, S.
  7. Definitly the music: I was on holiday in Venice and we had this tiny tv in our appartement. We had no radio, so we used the tv to get access to some music. It was a very old tv, so you couldn't see very clear what was on the screen (you know, with a lot of snow) One day, they played the Grace Kelly clip on it, I remember I was making the bed and hearing it. I went to the tiny tv, trying to read the name of the artist: Mika... I was fascinated by the song: it sounded familiar and new at the same time! I thought: "man this is a crazy song ans this Mika-guy sings soooo high!" I actually thought it was something Italian, since I was in Venice, but when I got home and turned on my tv, there it was again... I got intrigued and did soms research on the internet... saw the live performance in KOKO and I was convinced: this guy is a keeper! and now I'm here... on the MFC-forum... greet!
  8. I'm going to Brussels too after the huge dissapointment of Werchter, I'm all happy again! I don't know how I'm going, maybe I'll drive overthere myself... I can maybe take someone with me, but I can't promise anything... Let me know where you are coming from and maybe we can arrange something! yippie greetz, -S.-
  9. I think you have arrogant and arrogant, if you know what I mean. I believe a little arrogancy can be a good thing to accomplish your goal, and that's exactly what he had done! He didn't want an interfearing recordcompany, so he turned them down. In a way, that's pretty arrogant: I mean, he had nothing, they offered him a lot and still he said no, because he knew exactly what he wanted. But! If you hear his music now, if you see the shows, if you look at the artwork, you realize that an average push-over would never have accomplished that... So I don't see the arrogancy-thing as negative. It only makes me admire his work even more, and I have a lot of respect for all he has done so far! It's unbelievable! greetz, S.
  10. Hi, I actually wanted to buy tickets for Werchter too, but I was too late... First I was very very disappointed, but now I can only think how lucky I am. I feel very sorry sorry for you Pamette, I can imagine how you feel! It's only a small comfort but there are great other names coming too... (oke, I know that won't help you... ) But one day, you'll get to see him! I'm sure we all will, It's just a matter of being veeeeery patient I guess...
  11. hmm, officially my very first post... exciting! Being a huge Mika-fan hasn't stopped me being fan of other great Belgian groups, some of them have been mentioned before, I hope that's not a problem (mentioning them twice will make sure you take a look at them ;-) first of all: DAAN - he's makes over-the-top music, very poppy but also megalomanic, great performer ! Very succesfull in Belgium, at the moment resleasing his cd in France and Germany too (to check out one of his crazy songs: very dark lyrics, but with a hyperactif euphoric soundscape on it) and second: STIJN - he's been called the new Prince in Belgium, but maybe that's a bit overrated ;-) makes very funky songs, lots of beats and computersounds but with a great voice on top of it and a great livereputation: It's just a suggestion, hope you like it. By the way, I'm very impressed by this forum, really: everyone tries to be kind and stuff... Mikafans are clearly great people! I always have a smile on my face while reading the sometimes crazy posts :-) hope my English is good enough... greetz!
