  1. can we see it as some "alternative" version of appreciating Mika:blink: ??? euh.... (I can answer that one myself:boxed: ) (or is it just the explicit form of what a lot of people here sometimes think...)
  2. Wow... that's greeeeeeeat news! :roftl: I didn't participate myself, I've not been around that long, but even I am very happy with his reply. And you know what? It's not even a quiet thank you, because EVERYONE who is a myspace-friend of him recieves it :-) They'll all know how great you guys are! And it shows that he's not to proud to show he's happy with it! (and he wrote it himself :biggrin2: ) You gotta love him....
  3. small question... under the interview with Sofie there it a picture with 3 men on it... The middle-one...he loooks very much like the guy who interviewed Mika a while ago about the whole sexuality-thing (you know, the creepy guy:blink: ) Is it him?
  4. It's not really 'new' news, but I'm glad it's coming from him this time! Good! Happy to hear it
  5. congratulations on your hard work!!!! :thumb_yello: it's veeeeeeery nice! I love it!
  6. I love it champagne spilling, lots of swearing, lots of 'darling'
  7. you have to download 'real player'... That's how it works with me. Is there any chance that I can hear the interview again? I wasn't home
  8. Congratulations! Happy Birthday!! Hope it's a wonderful day AND a wonderful year!
  9. I have to say, that I'm not soooo very worried. Yep it's a lot, but, as Cherisse said: it's their job. If they were doing like one show every weekend, it was more like a hobby and they wouldn't be able to make a living out of it. Don't get me wrong: I'm sure it will be exhausting, but at least there won't be any jetlags. For example in november: 11th: Holland 12th: Luxemburg 13th: Belgium these places are like 2 hours driving from eachother, so I think they can cope... About the december gigs: maybe they will be tired, but let's not rush into conclusions and sell all our tickets and panic. He's not the only musician in the world to do this :-) And I still have faith that they learned from this summer. Not every manager is an idiot...
  10. wow... you made a few very good points. My conclusion is this: In soms points you have a different opinion than others. It's a very thin line... If you are embaressed with the picture-with-Mika-thing, you're obviously not gonna ask him to take a picture with you. That's fine! You don't really have a problem with the Knitting Thread or with quotes-compilations. (me neither by the way. I find them funny, and indeed they are absolutely non-professional, and that's a good thing. I like them, if find them not-offensive... but again, that's my opinion) That's fine! You know what? Here on this forum we have at least one thing in common: that's obviously Mika, BUT (and that's an important one) we are al different people, we're from all over the world, we have different visions, and different ethics. (I'm not talking about good and bad, I'm talking about differences) I think the main thing is to be honest with yourself and ask yourself whether you think that what you are posting is appropriate! It's quite clear that those GMA-girls had a totally different look on social behaviour (oh god, I'm using words I barely understand myself:boxed: )... I disapprove it, and a lot of people here with me. Do I think Mika had it coming? Well, IMO he's certainly aware of his looks and what he can do to people (I mean physically) and indeed, he plays with that! But to me it's more like 'you can look, but you can't touch'. So yelling 'get naked' comes very close to the 'touching' (it's a metaphor) hmmm, I'm afraid I can't make a final POINT here... ( gosh, all the writing and no point) I think it has something to do with self-respect... *sigh, I'm giving up... stupid English...*
  11. that's awesome! You know what? about 2 months ago, me and a friend also were on the radio. We took part in a competition to win tickets for a festival in Belgium (which Mika cancelled, but that doesn't matter), and in order to do so, we had to dress up like lollipopgirls:bleh: , and we had to find 100 people of the street (the program was live on air so we had to do it during the emission) who were willing to sing 'Relax' with us. It was absolutely INSANE!!!! :biggrin2: And we all sang sooooooooooo out of tone, but I loved it! Our stunt succeeded: we had 100 people singing love on air. The radio host said it sounded awfull, but we won the tickets! I totally understand how you feel! It's great to do a little promo for Mika Well done!!!! -Stien-
  12. #288... man that's huge:thumb_yello: if this won't convince them...
  13. I learn new things here every day... Youtube is working verrrrry hard at the moment thanks!
  14. really? wow... that's probably because of his gig here in november. Or maybe... I don't know, it's awesome anyway!
  15. Oh yeah, I saw the commercial on vt4... I was jumping around like a silly kid, and indeed: no need to play that cd anymore, Relax is everywhere!!!
  16. ok, thanks I'm very relieved!
  17. fjoew I was a bit worried there... He said the next album would be more angry... but this I found a bit odd
  18. Hi, I found this link... have no idea what to think of it... http://www.last.fm/music/Mika/_/Rabenwald Is it really music of Mika? It says so... help me out here
  19. Christine, I'm officially calling you a wise person!
  20. what can I say... I agree with you. And maybe the two things need to be seen seperatly: 1. cancelling vs performing ill 2. communication towards the fans The first one: maybe we should drop the sarcasm and try to believe the fact that he's ill and that Mika hates this situation even more than we do. If he wanted to be a musician since he was 11, it means he's pretty determined so this health-problem must be terrible for him. The second one: frustrated because we don't know anything, we get sarcastic, and we start to question whether(?) he's really ill. In my opinion: those two are different things! (related offcourse, but not the same) You get my point, or is it too confusing
  21. hoi en welkom! 't is hier vaak een drukke bedoening, veel volk maar ook best gezellig. En je bent zeker niet de enige Belg have fun! S.
  22. Great thread! I have to say: sometimes it's interesting to look back. I hadn't done it myself. I remember that the first video of Mika I saw was the one of the KOKO performance. I was overwhelmed by the sound, and I remember thinking "well, this is a good-looking boy". So I didn't think: "oh my god he's so sexy" or anything. So (and I don't have enough vocabulary to use the correct words to express myself) I was kinda surprised when these other vids appeared: Mika without T-shirt, Mika dancing with Big Girl, Sweet Dreams,... Not that I didn't like it, but it was indeed a bit surprising when you first saw the KOKO-vid. Same thing with the Grace Kelly video. He is more feminin there. But I also noticed this: The Love today video was maybe more masculin, but the Big Girl video certainly isn't! Even though he sings while leaning on a Big Girls décolleté, he still looks very androgyn in it! I do agree: we shouldn't underestimate him. He's been planning this succes for a long time and looking at interviews,... we know he's very clever. I also think that -since he had to answer the gay-question a million times- he has learned what to say to the press, and how to formulate it. Same thing with his performances: I'm sure he has used all the feedback from the first, small tour to modify it into the one we get to see now. And why not? He's an artist, he has to make an evolution... The thing that fascinates me the most is what his performances will look like in, say 5 years. He will be 28 then, have a lot of experience, and who knows what more... It's up to us to to wait I guess.... :-) S.
