  1. :shocked: That's WONDERFUL news SD !!! :biggrin2::kachinga:
Wow SD! That's fantastic news. Go you!

Thanks! I'm pretty excited, it should be fun. We started playing around with the song in class yesterday, and I liked how it was sounding.

I was right there with you on the edge of my seat watching too :thumb_yello:

That's brilliant and of course we will expect the final song to be uploaded!

CONGRATS!!! Sounds cool and cant wait to hear the big thing :thumb_yello::biggrin2:

Haha, okay. I will try to upload it once we get the CD after recording.

  2. Hello everyone! How are you all?

I've been pretty good, but I'm so incredibly glad that the holidays start after just two more days of school. Tomorrow I have an English in-class essay that I still have to prepare for and then I have a physics assignment about electricity and motion due on Wednesday.

I stayed up and watch the Federer/Roddick tennis match last night. Just picture it.. Me sitting on the edge of the couch at 3:30am, biting my fingernails and trying not to make any noise. The final set was so long and stressful, but in the end Roger won! I was so happy! I love Roger Federer. :wub2:

Oh! I also got into a music thing called Kool Skools. I wrote a song involving vocals, piano, acoustic guitar, violin, bass and drums and it got chosen to be recorded at a professional music studio next term! :groovy:

  3. I've been on holidays all week! :boxed:

Do you go back on the 13th (which just so happens to be my bday, lucky me...), or have another week after that?

Nope, I'm on holidays for almost two and a half weeks. So I go back on the 27th of July. :biggrin2:

  4. Aren't you on holidays as of this afternoon? My kids are.

I wish.. I still have two major assessments to do this term (english and physics). Next week I have school on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Then holidays!!

Haha, today in English it was so funny and cute. We were all sitting there listening to the teacher (an old wise man with an awesome beard), and we were just about to get into groups to discuss something. Then just as he finished explaining he said "Be careful not to talk too loud, you might wake Lucy." And then everyone turned around and she was fast asleep. Aww. It was hilarious though, and the teacher has a great sense of humour, so he just thought it was funny as well. :roftl:

  5. Religion speech?

    Firstly..

    :groovy:HELLO JU-JU LEA!!!:groovy:

I have to give a 5-minute presentation in my Studies of Religion II (I go to a Catholic school) class tomorrow. It's about the commandments and beatitudes of Christianity and I will be speaking about John Lennon, as an example. :wub2:

  6. I was so incredibly happy to read Mika's shout out to Tegan. It was such a kind thing to do, and I hope it helps her to get through this tough time with a smile on her face. She deserves to be happy. :wub2:

Thanks Mika, and get well soon Tegan!

Why, oh why, did I leave this religion speech until the night before??

  7. I don't mean to be such a cynic etc but I really don't see how this is a big deal. Yes, it could lead to a tour eventually, but this time round its most likely just showcase/promo stuff, and the most we'd see him is if we got lucky and glimpsed him at the airport for 5 minutes or something, or if he went on sunrise or something like that, which isn't always conductive to viewing live, as some of us know. If we're lucky we'll get a secret show, though I doubt it

It is good to see some mention of Australia, yes its true. And it means we're not forgotten, but I feel like I'm one of the few not excited by this, and not planning stalking/looking at flights etc :naughty:

Hmm.. I'm excited that Mika has finally realised that there is a Southern Hemisphere, but I won't be stalking him around Melbourne/Sydney. I have school! I think it will just be showcase/promotional stuff as well.

Having said that, if anybody happens to see/meet him they had better take pictures! :naughty:

  8. I woke up late this morning so I missed the bus. Then, while I was getting ready for school I was listening to the radio. When the newsreader said "we can now confirm that Michael Jackson has died" I was looking in the mirror, and my mouth actually fell open. It is very, very sad.

I have always hoped that Michael Jackson's comeback would be absolutely amazing, and everybody would realise what a musician he was, instead of focussing upon some the of the mistakes he may have made. But now, his comeback is not to be. It's just devastating. But I still hope that he will be remembered for his music, rather than the controversy that has always surrounded him. RIP Michael.

    :crybaby:

  9. I really could and that's pretty scary :naughty:

Good thinking. Who else was on the list then? Madonna? :teehee:

I'm curious about who your choices were...

:naughty: The choices were Geraldine Doogue, Father Chris Riely, Irene McCormack, Nelson Mandela, Oprah Winfrey, Jonathan Welsh (Choir of Hard Knocks), Steve Waugh and Jon Bon Jovi.

I don't know who a few few of those are.. I was going to do Nelson Mandela, but realised quite a few people would probably be talking about him so I decided to do one of my own.

Sorry it's taken me forever to get on the aussie thread but been swamped at work & had nephews to take care of and I have educated them on mika songs and they love "Grace Kelly" .. so cute...

I am from Cairns in Queensland and whenever Mika does come out I am so going to Sydney to see the show YAY :wink2:

    LOVE FROM CAIRNS :thumb_yello:

    :groovy:WELCOME!!!

    :groovy:

  10. Ohhh!! I could do that with my eyes closed. :naughty:

btw, was Bono a choice? :teehee:

Good choice on John Lennon though. I'd be interested to read what you come up with. :biggrin2:

Haha, I'm sure you could. :wink2:

He wasn't a choice, but neither was John Lennon (I asked the teacher if I could do him). So I'm pretty sure she'd have let somebody talk about Bono if they wanted to.

  11. Hello all!

Sorry I have been scarce lately. I was very busy over the weekend with preparations for the Deb. It was beautiful. I shall post a few photos when I find some spare time.

Today the CD for Sibelius 5 arrived and it doesn't work! :mad3: My Dad is going to call them tomorrow.

  12. Has anybody read Brian's latest soapbox entry? He talks about Mika! And there's a photo with Katy Perry. Even though I don't really like her music, the photo is great! It's nice to see Bri having a good time. :naughty::wub2:

  13. Oooh ... love them !! Was it on TV ?? Otherwise I'll need to google it ... I don't have pay TV ...

Umm, I don't think it's been on Australian TV yet, but it was only broadcast in Britain last year so there may still be a possibility of it being on here. I'll keep an eye out for you. I downloaded it..

    Illegally.

  14. SD: No, I haven't heard of it ! But would LOVE to see it !! :thumb_yello:

SD: Ooooh !! Have a great time at your DEB !! :wub2:

I felt really sad when it was over. I had to return to reality. :naughty: A very dramatic and intriguing story with just the right amount of happiness and sadness and a dash of mystery and romance. :thumb_yello:

    Thankyou!
