I'm not gonna get a chance to sleep in, as we have packing to do (I know, I know, why am I here? Well, I managed to sleep in till about 8:20am, and so I'm actually just catching up on here while eating breakfast).

 

Snow is cooold! I remember going on a ski trip when I was about 7... my 4yo sister could ski better than I could. I preferred to eat the snow...lol

 

I suppose... I guess I've adapted to minimal sleep thanks to all the wonderful assessment I've been treated to recently...ha

Yeah, Fri was going well until my friend messaged me and told me we still have a Biology report due next term! Ha, I totally forgot about it! lol

I'm totally with you on this. I think people who engage in tanning regularly, especially in this day and age when it's not like the dangers of the sun are unknown or sun safety isn't promoted regularly are being quite irresponsible. I live in a place called Townsville, in Australia. We have the highest skin cancer rate in the world. So it's fairly drilled into us, be it on TV, or at school, etc. However, some people still feel the need to go out and literally cook themselves on the pretext that it's going to make them look nice, or make them attractive. I'm sorry, but I don't find people who are that foolish enough not to think of the consequences of their actions attractive at all. Like I said, it's not like the consequences aren't drilled into us on a regular basis...

 

(Sorry, I feel very strongly about this...lol)

A helping hand, for sure, and then I wondered if it wasn't Jodi Marr herself. And my guess was also that Mika would have the sole writing credit on Lady Jane.

 

I suspect that Mika would have had ideas for this, and perhaps Jodi Marr assisted him with putting it down in words... I find many people have trouble putting their thoughts into words, myself included!

Woah, that's so sweet!

You know you're a Mika fan when you see an advertisement for furniture on the street saying "Crazy kitchen" but you don't see "kitchen" but "chicken" and you start giggling.

 

When my little sister was about 5 or so, she used to verbally mistake 'kitchen' for 'chicken' and vice versa. It was pretty funny. =P

 

You know you're a Mika fan when the fact that Mika actually happens to be in the same country as you totally brightens your day. =]

i went to a all girls Catholic High School so I share your pain .... I remember doing those speeches all the time and I was so bad at public speaking ... ahhh memories ..

I recently had to perform a liturgy for RE. It was...interesting...

I'm not really religious, despite attending the catholic school, and kinda didn't really know how it was supposed to go. Luckily we worked in groups, so I had friends to guide me.

 

I found out today that the scholarship that I'm applying for usually accepts around 35 people. That's more than I expected! Fingers crossed I'll make it into the shortlist at least!

He was on Rove (an Aussie talk show) tonight. He was hilarious! If I recall correctly, he said something to the effect of "I think Kevin Rudd is hot." (Kevin Rudd is our Prime Minister, and also happened to be on the show). I don't think I've laughed that much in a long time!

I have a reputation for wacked out random dreams, (and I guess this counts too...lol)

 

So I was sitting in my parents' walk-in wardrobe, on the MFC (as you do...), and I read something in regards to Mika doing something awesome in regards to us and being official, etc...

So I left the wardrobe, and went into our lounge room, and there was Mika sitting on our lounge with this huge box of Christmas presents for all us MFCers!

I sat down on the adjacent seat, and he handed me a sparkly box about the side of an A4 sheet of paper with my username on it, saying, this is for you. I was momentarily speechless. Not because Mika happened to be in my house (apparently this was normal...lol), but because he a) knew who I was, and b) was handing out xmas gifts.

I pondered for a moment as to how he knew who I was, since I've never actually met him, but was cut short, as he asked me why my username was bonzaBOY, when I was a girl. So I explained about Bonza the pony and all that, and then opened my box. Inside was a hand-written letter and xmas card to myself, a book and three or so random DVDs, which were the size of VHS tapes. When I looked up again, he was gone, and apparently that was normal too. The dream continued as if he hadn't been in the room less than 30 seconds ago, and I showed my sisters. And then I woke up.

Wow! Sounds great! Especially having contact to large companies. The biggest problem with I.T. is there's not a whole heap of really well paying work going atm because everybody's been doing these courses.. Do you know if you can live on campus? That would be fun.

Yeah, I'd have to. =] There's student accommodation literally next door to the uni, (it's on Broadway), and the scholarship I'd be receiving would pretty much cover the cost of the accommodation itself! According to them, 100% of their graduates have found employment before or very shortly after graduating, so that's a good thing! I really do hope I get in, but I mustn't get my hopes too high...

 

Sorry it's taken me forever to get on the aussie thread but been swamped at work & had nephews to take care of and I have educated them on mika songs and they love "Grace Kelly" .. so cute...

 

I am from Cairns in Queensland and whenever Mika does come out I am so going to Sydney to see the show YAY :wink2:

Ahh! So I found this scholarship for uni next year, which is pretty cool. It's a bachelor in IT at the University of Technology in Sydney, and the recipients are sponsored by large companies, so we get paid to do the course. There's all these rounds, and if I get short-listed, I'd have to do an interview, etc... The only downside is that it's in Sydney, and we kinda don't live anywhere near Sydney, but I can work with that. I'm really excited about it, but I just got an email stating that applications open in early August.

I wanna apply NOW! lol, I can't wait that long! The anticipation is killing me!

Ah well, I suppose this'll give me time to bribe my teachers into writing me nice references...haha

I, for some strange reason, love reading my report cards. They're the highlight of my holidays...lol (This can only mean I have no life...heh)

 

So yeah, male doctors either don't give a **** or are doing a half arsed job... and I think the emergency doctor I went to on Tuesday is both.. But bitching about him isn't going to do much... luckily for me I've got time tomorrow morning to feel okay before I go to work... if I go...

I think it has something to do with men sometimes being less empathetic than women... But I also agree with what Kelzy said below in regards to seeing a doctor who you're compatible with.

I haven't had much luck with male doctors myself. My whole pre-diagnosis of Crohns was with them. And constantly being told it was all in my head (but not in those exact words).

My mum has a slipped disc in her back, and for a while all the doctors were trying to tell her it was neurological... =\
