    Hey,

     

    So I guess this is where I introduce myself. Well, I'm Syrus and I've been following Mika's music for awhile now(almost a few years now... I think). I grew up listening to Queen, so when I first heard Mika it was love.

     

    His music just has that beat thats easily addicting, sometimes I find myself sneaking on my headphones at work, praying that no one will notice. Haha!

    HK do you never sleep? Here I am awake at 3am...must be 4am in Oz....

     

    I made a vid and YT took away my sound, so I had to upload it to myspace. First vid I ever made. (that wasn't concert footage)

    In other news, I'm desperately trying to motivate myself to do my maths assignment. It's unlikely that it'll happen today, but I know it'll be done by or around midnight tomorrow night. (I work better under pressure... :naughty:)

    I don't think i can remember what i had to do to get into uni!!! I think i just wrote down 5 or 6 uni's i wanted to go to, in order of preference, and just waited for my O.P result and the letter of offer in the mail came.......that was like 4 years ago now...........fa frig! :shocked:

    Yeah, OP is the big one at the moment. Our school doesn't calculate prediction OPs, so I have no idea how I'm gonna go with this. The course is in NSW, so they've specified I need a UAI of around 90. Which is about an OP 6 or 7. I'm hoping I do well enough on the questionairre to be invited for an interview. Apparently there's only about 25 places in the course. :shocked: Better get to work!

    I got a condescending comment from some guy on a video of Adam playing bass cause I referred to it as a batman guitar... :sneaky2:

     

    Larry called it a batman guitar, and I think it looks like it... Besides, I can listen to Adam long enough to know what kind of bass guitar it is...

    Ah, don't worry... it seems that almost every man and his dog like to post stupid or derogatory comments about others on the internet, just because they have a phone line, a keyboard and fingers, plus a monitor to hide behind.

     

    I'm around.... getting busy with uni stuff but around

     

     

    That sounds like a lot of work... for ours we just had to list 10 courses in order of preference, and then, depending on our ENTER score, we'd get put into the highest course on our list that we were eligible for. At least I think thats how it worked, it was so long ago. It was easy I remember, as was applying for scholarships

    It wasn't that bad applying for the course online, and for most courses is as easy as you described, but some highly sought after courses have an interview process, such as medicine and the like, and this one, being a scholarship has a questionnaire. I feel for those who have to write an essay for their application, though!

    This guy basically said he got the album samples off Mika's record company and posted them on youtube...

     

    Don't worry, Tegan, they're just the iTunes promo clips. They're exactly the same as the ones I recorded from that, and in the exact same order. I reckon this guy is just talking himself up by saying he got them from the record company. =]

    I'd like nothing more than a mac right now, but the fact of the matter is that I'm povo...lol

     

    Someone has posted little snippets of the songs on Mika's new album on youtube :shocked:

    If they were 30 second snippets of each song, then that's the previews that were available to listen when you pre order the album on iTunes. =]

     

    *Edit*- I checked it out, they are the iTunes samples. The funniest thing is, that the guy who uploaded them is claiming that he got them from the record company/Mika himself. Some people will do anything for attention...lol

     

     

    In other news, I put in the first part of my uni application today. =D

    Now I just have to fill out the questionnaire. I'm gonna take my time with that though, since my answers should probably be somewhat thought through, rather than something along the lines of "I decided to apply for this course because computers are shiny, and I like shiny things..."

    It does occasionally take some time for me to articulate what I'm trying to say, so I can see more than a few drafts before I get anywhere near a final copy... :naughty:

    Havent started my video yet.........been busy cleaning my room.......which i still havent quite finished yet :aah:

    ...and so far I havent seen anyone with a massive 36 downloads like me :crybaby:. I wonder what I did :crybaby:.

    I do recall seeing someone before, when the upload/download thing first caught my eye... If it'll make you feel better, I'll go download a heap of stuff...lol

    Actually, I did start filming yesterday, with my 'blue screen'. The only problem with this is that my 10yo sister obviously didn't understand what I meant when I asked her if she could see any of the wall through the camera. So now I have to crop all my clips, or the editor will leave a nice grey border around all my chroma key shots...lol

     

    The downloads are just the amount of stuff you've downloaded from the download section (like this Mika @ Popworld interview and so on). It's just disturbing to have it right there next to my post. Good to know that the server knows so well what I've done since I came here :sneaky2:.

    Yeah, I know what you mean... I don't really remember downloading that much stuff...lol

    I'd continue filming, but it's getting dark, and my makeshift bluescreen (a blue sheet taped to a wall outside) needs plenty of light to work properly. And I don't have enough lamps to ensure that there'd be no shadows...lol

    I suppose with the new release of his album the forums will be running wild and everyone will be on, so the server needed to beupdated! Good thinking.

     

    That would be AWESOME if you could send me a copy of his song :D Thanks heaps!!! Ive seen that a few people have already uploaded theirs onto youtube.......ive found a couple that are pretty good so far.

    In other news, I did my first Chroma Key today! (Chroma key is pretty much a green [or in my case, blue] screen effect with video editing)

    It was pretty crappy, and involved a minute version of my mother dancing on top of my piano, but hey, it can only get better! =D

    Heya! I looked up the competition details and it said this:

     

    'The top 5 (personally chosen by Mika) will get to attend a meet-and-greet with Mika himself at a live show in their home country.'

     

    I think it means when he comes and does the next show in the country of the winner, you get to meet n greet Meeks at the end of the show. But how awesome would it be if you got to win your own live show in your home-town :mf_lustslow: That'd be frikkin awesome!!!

    It'd be OMG THE BEST THING EVER to win, but i'd be so nervous and stutter and make an arse of myself in front of him :aah:

     

    I reckon it'd be worth a try if those who arent interested in making your own video, try and work on a group video. Ya gotta be in it to win it i say!!! Plus we so need an aussie to be one of the winners :P

     

     

     

     

    Bonzaboy: All i have at the moment to work with is a scabby editing programme that came with my dad's camera, and windows movie maker :naughty: Am hoping my bro can hook me up with a better programme soon!!! But we have til the 20th september, which is gooood!

    The forum was down because they were changing over to a new server. This one is supposed to be just for our forum, will run alot faster and crash less when we have an influx of members online at once. =]

    Guys, I know it's exciting (trust me, I'm pretty excited myself) but PLEASE don't plan anything until we get a bit more information... I'd hate for someone to plan where they think he will be touring and then be wrong and waste money...

    That's exactly why I'm sitting on my hands and making an almost creditable attempt at waiting patiently...lol

    I didnt know about the morning show interview but watched it online .... I so cant wait now :shocked: I was just jumping up and down everywhere :groupwave: only thing is when he does announce tickets and stuff whether me being in Cairns is gonna affect getting tickets :woot_jump:

    Ah, it shouldn't. I'm in Townsville, and being there hasn't ever affected anyone I know in the way of concert tickets...

    Sorry, just heard WAG on the radio for the very first time. I screamed so loud and then my daughter and I danced around the lounge room like nutcases. This is after my son and daughter and I sang it all the way to drop son at school and then daughter and I sang it all the way home.

    Awesome! My friend said she heard it on the radio too!

     

    Also,I got home yesterday and mum called me to tell me that Mika was on TV this morning. She was a little taken back when I told her I already knew of and had seen the footage... :naughty:
