  1. Oh EJ. That's got to be very upsetting for you. I hope for the best though. Maybe this other more experienced carer will know something your mum doesn't simply through her greater experience.

She's back from the carer's place. He's had 1.5ml of Valium, and he's relaxed a little. (He was going rigid when we took him out) However, Annette (the carer) still thinks that his chances are slim. She thinks the best thing is to make him comfortable, and hope he pulls through. But because of the accident, we don't know if he has internal injuries, or brain damage, and that could be causing him to deteriorate. We're all hoping for a little miracle.

  2. Hi all

    I have some sad news...

I'm not sure if I told ya's, but my Mum has just started out being a wildlife carer. We've had two little wallaby joeys (a boy and a girl) for about two weeks, one of which we rescued out the front of our place, since his mum was hit by a car. Unfortunately, he became really unwell this afternoon, and so mum's taken him out to another, more experienced carer, but she thinks he's not going to make it. :tears:

We're currently waiting for news, but are expecting the worst...

  3. Agh, I have to write my senior reflection statement for our school yearbook, and I'm having trouble being succinct. We have a 300 character limit, and I don't think I can reduce what I want to say to that little!

In other news, I've completed the last Maths assignment I will ever do. =]

How odd that you still go to school after you graduate, but you soo can't miss that, that would be awful. I won't let you :sneaky2:

It is a bit weird... we graduate on the Monday, and then have to come back on the Friday for the final assembly or something... And then we walk all through the school until we get out onto our patch of grass (It;s too small to be classified as an oval, it's like 50m by 50m), sing the school song, perform the war cry and then go. I've watched the seniors do it every year (we all leave classes to see the march thingy), but it seems odd that it'll be us doing it this year. I don't consider myself ready to leave school. It seems only yesterday I was 6, and getting mum to help me write 'My first day of school' in my student planner. I remember spelling 'School' wrong, and ripping the page scribbling it out!

EDIT: *clicks on deluxe version of TBTKTM from JB Hi Fi*

I tried to pre-order the other day through JB Hi Fi, but I have a gift card, and apparently they aren't redeemable online...:sneaky2:

I can do 7th-15th (technically) or after the 28th. I wish he'd change it to early December :naughty:

December would be so much more convenient for me, sonce I know I'm gonna be in Sydney for the first few weeks of Dec. =]

  4. I'll probably be excited if/when he comes as well (provided he avoids my delayed 21st dates :wink2:)

    Anyways how is everyone?

I know what you mean. I've instilled it into myself that I'm not to get excited about anything until I know for sure if things are going to work out for me. That way, I avoid the major disappointment that would occur had I got my hopes up, and then it turned out that it wasn't convenient for me.

(For those who don't know, I can't do anything until after the 16th of Nov (which is graduation). Even better would be after the 20th, since that's my last day of school (ever), and I think being there might be nice.=])

That is, if this all goes ahead. =]

Other than that, I'm gone now. Sleep is inevitable in the end. =]

  5. Ohh, I think that was one of the radio interviews...one of the Italian ones, maybe?

I'll have a look, but if anyone knows exactly which one it's from, by all means share. :teehee:

    EDIT: It's an Australian interview:

And here's a pic of it in NYC:

    Thanks so much!=P

Did he really say that? And how many times did he do it?

It's a bit like people dressing up. We get told to dress up, then Mika says in interviews that people just turn up like that and hey presto! an urban legend is born.

Yeah, I know what you mean. But I'm more just proving a point . =]

  6. Hi all, I'm looking for a recent interview (can't remember if it was video or text) in which Mika says that he likes to send out an ice-cream truck to the people queuing.

(I'm trying to prove to a friend who, when I told her that Mika does this, said "As if. Prove it." I shall prove her wrong. =P)

  7. Obviously! LOL!!!

When I was a child, my mum would tell us off for saying it.

But when we grew up, she never bothered, but went ballistic the first time I used the f word at the age of 14!

Yeah, I think it's different for young children, but other than that, I see no harm.

Most swear words don't bother me really ... apart from the C word .... can't stand that one ... I don't really swear that much .... not like some people I hear :aah:

    I can't stand the C word either. =|

Exactly :naughty:, I just don't see the bother. I would even like it if he did a song like the one that Lily Allen has that Sienna mentioned, I love that song :biggrin2:.

The one thing that kind of makes me raise my eyebrows though is comparing swearing (even perceived swearig) to the homosexual implication in Billy Brown....Why would that be wrong, or why would a child need to be kept in ignorance of such things?

Can't they just naturally be told that it's not always men and women who get together and leave it at that?

I love that song too! =]

I think it's more that young children, when gaining this information could potentially use it inappropriately, due to their maturity level. For example, I was about 6 or 7 when I first learned the scientific term for a man's genitalia. According to my mum, I then went out into the front yard and yelled it out until she came and told me that there are some things that we don't shout out in public. :naughty:

  8. It could be as bad as mine where you undo all the screws and still can't get it open enough to properly clean out the fan :naughty:

Haha, I remember the first time I did mine by myself. I'd done my desktop PC before, but the screws are all different lengths in my laptop, and I put some in the wrong holes. So now my laptop has a massive crack near the touchpad. That'll teach me! lol

So yeah, a word of advice if you plan on DIY- remember where each screw came from!

  9. Hi all. =]

Won't be spending too much time online tonight, since I'm way too tired. I spent the vast majority of last night laying tracks for my music composition piece. It's done now, so the night is all mine! =D

If you order through play.com, they have a limited number of signed copies of the standard CD :wink2:

Yeah, but they're only available in Europe/UK, I believe...

Well, I might be a bit slow with this info, but it looks like Oz will be getting the new album before other places (but Japan is first on Sept 16th :teehee:)

    Release date 18th September:

    Ohh, awesome! =P

  10. Hi all :bye:

Woah, this thread has been really active last few days!

With Mika in November, I really hope it's the second half of November (after the 16th), or I won't be able to go because of school, and then grad on the 16th. I'd really love to be able to say "I'm definitely coming", but unfortunately I can't.

Ah well, I might be lucky, and if I'm not, hopefully he'll keep his tour promise. =]

I had careers interview today with my deputy principal. She has got to be one of the most sinister people I have ever met. She makes you feel as if you're in trouble, even when she's whole heartedly supporting you! But she likes my scholarship plan, but thinks I need to consider applying for some other courses if I'm not accepted in to the scholarship. Which is fair enough, since I probably shouldn't get my hopes up too high. =]

BTW, did you guys know that TBWKTM is now available for preorder at JB-Hifi? It'll more than likely work out cheaper to pre order from here than sandbag/amazon, etc.

    Standard

    Deluxe

  11. Argh, this entire weekend I've been stressing about school and next year! I really want to drop physics and maths extension but all these websites are making me feel like my UAI/whatever it's called now is going to be horrible without doing them! :aah:

You'll be fine. Your (I think it's ATAR now...) is based on your performance in the subjects you do compared to the other students in the state who take that particular subject, I believe, not what subjects you take. Our school advised us to take the subjects that we knew we could do well at. Even if you need physics or maths extension for what you want to do at uni, you can always do a bridging course. I do Maths A, and some of the courses I'm looking at if I don't get into IT require Maths B (which I think is the equivilant of extension maths). I've talked to our schools careers advisor, and she told me that bridging courses are designed for exactly that reason. =]

  12. Yep, the last semester ALWAYS goes quick! School will be over before you know it! Dont be nervous.........be excited i reckon :thumb_yello:

I just like school far too much for my own good! lol

And then I'm gonna miss all the people, and all my teachers, and school itself! We're moving to around Brisbane after I graduate, you see. So really, the end of school is like looking at the end of my time in Townsville. I've never stayed somewhere for so long. (nearly 10 years now!)

That and I don't like the cold! =P

  13. LOL i remember plenty of times being up all night the night before an assignment was due.......i'd even often come on here too to give myself a break form it :aah:

Haha, like I'm doing now. =]

I can see the TV from where I'm sitting. Rove is distracting me! :aah:

I've done my critical path networks, and all that's left to do is write something that'll convince my teachers that my diagram makes sense..lol

I can't believe the year is more than half-way through already! 11 weeks 'till I graduate. The thought makes me nervous!

  14. DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT

DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT!!!!!!!!!!

    Okay, okay! I'm doing it!

It's just, every program I load crashes within two minutes of opening it. Not helpful, since I'm doing critical path diagrams, and using photoshop programs to draw them... *waits for Firefox to crash* :sneaky2:
