  1. There are some good articles and pre-reviews about it. So it should do well. His vid has nearly 1 million views too. So that'll deffinately help.

  2. Everyone should tweet @bbcr1 I've already done it. On twitter I have a new account because I got targetted by a twitter bully on my old one. So I pretended to leave twitter and set up a new account @Good&Golden I don't want anyone outside of MFC to know it's me, so because the forum is mostly public, I don't talk about it on the threads. But I've already tweeted Radio One to ask if they're going to play Celebrate and interview Mika. Try and get your friends to do the same.

  3. Yes, it'll be interesting to see how his singles and album do in The States, this time.

  4. He's doing the rounds of radio stations, but needs Radio One really. I hope he goes on there soon.

  5. The American gigs have sold out well, even without the new album, so hopefully, it won't matter either way.

  6. Celebrate is record-of-the-week on Radio 2. Maybe that will get Radio 1 interested. I hope so. They need to play his song.

  7. I'm not sure when it's out in the USA

  8. I'm not sure when it's out in the USA.

  9. I certainly hope so. I don't know though. We'll have to wait and see if he gets on the radio or not.

  10. Well in the USA, Mika isn't so well known because he's never had much radio play. Were you here when I started the GLEE campaign? Basically, I had tried to mobilise fans on here to campaign to get Mika's songs onto GLEE, because America wasn't hearing his songs, and a good way to promote him there, would have been, if they'd been sung on GLEE. But the campaign didn't work. However, Americans are getting to know him and the new album might get him played. American radio seemed to think he was too "different" for them. But they might give the new songs a chance. Then he would get onto the Billboard charts.

  11. I think the new style and image will halp a lot. As long as the DJs give the songs a chance to be hits by playing them.

  12. When I said "Rock" I meant more hard rock. Not pop rock songs like Mika sings.

  13. I agree, But no radio station in the UK played Kick-Ass. They probably would have if Robbie Williams had recorded it. But I wouldn't really say he isn't popular with people in the UK. It's just that he hasn't had his songs played on the radio for a long time.

But I'm hoping things will change now.

  14. If it's going to do well, it will. I don't think artists can ever really avoid clashes of album dates. But if some RnB, or some Rock artist, puts out an album the same week as Mika, they won't clash, because it's a different genre. But we'll just have to see how it goes.

  15. I think he's trying to appeal to the mainstream. Although he has had his loyal following, he hasn't always been taken seriously as a musician. He needs that, in order to survive in the music industry. I think, at heart, he hasn't changed, he's just become more mature. But he needs to explode in America to really make the transition from popstar, to icon. I think he's doing the right thing and the new image will grow on the fans. The main thing is the music and, up to now, with the songs I've heard, I'm thrilled with TOOL and can't wait to see it drop through my letterbox.

  16. Around April 2007, I heard Love Today on the radio. I just had to find out who was singing that joyful song with such an amazing voice. So I did! But I didn't join MFC until September, because, at 53, I considered myself too old for a fan club. But having found that all ages haunt the MFC I joined and have been very happy here.

I really love Mika's new image and the artwork for the TOOL cover. What do you think?

  17. He certainly has a vision of how he wants to evolve as an artist. It's good that he has. I'm sure he will have great plans for his future and I hope he gets to realize them. He is a true inspiration and a wonderful role model for young people.

  18. Well I've been around for a long time. I was 58 last Thursday, so I've seen all the greats come-and-go. But Mika is the only singer I've become a true fan of and gone to see at concerts. I dod go to a Gaga concert in 2010, but only because my husband likes her. I didn't enjoy it like I enjoy a Mika show though. I'm glad you like what I have to say on the forum

  19. It was apparently played on Xtra Factor on TV. But it's still early days if it isn't released until end of September. Still, it does need to get played on all radio stations in the UK. It is already being played in some other countries.

With Kick Ass, a lot of our members requested it by tweeeting and emailing DJs and Radio One, but they got annoyed and said Mika isn't relevant and the song still didn't get played. I hope that won't happen this time.

  21. Celebrate seems to be getting popular, so I think there are exciting times just around the corner. However, I wish Celebrate would be released earlier than end of September, in the UK.

  22. I don't post on here as much as some members do, but I'm always honest. A lot of ppl on here seem to like my posts, so I'm happy about that. I'm a lot older than most on here, so I like to pass on what I've learned through experience, in my replies or posts.

  23. Hi there Dong Dong. I have accepted your friend request. Lovely to meet you. Love from Marilyn

  24. Well Mika has been fiddling-around with the album and has just finished it all, so I'd expect some changes. When they played TOOL on the radio, just before the Heaven gig, it sounded a bit different.

  25. Ahhhh, thank you. I had a lovely day.
