  1. I wish everyone a great and happy new year!!!
  2. I must say, I missed the site having gone down. I seem to not be around when it does. It's nice to know that Mika is involved and concerned over the site. Though he does own it, so I guess he would be, lol. Here's to hopes that we are over the site down issues and if not, I'm not too concerned as I know we have a great crew working to keep MFC online, Mika included.
  3. Just the fact that he wants to take the time to let his fans know what he is up to shows his down to earth personality. Here's to another great tour, your next album, and upcoming redesigned website. John
  4. Thanks for the info, I'll give that a try.
  5. I tried to buy one for me and a friend and this is the email i received: Hi Thank you for your order placed with us, unfortunately we only deliver within the United Kingdom so we have had to cancel your order and issue a full refund. Regards, Angie The Glow Company Ltd
  6. to the MFC Kathleen and congrats on the song about your club. A very special tribute for sure. John
  7. I can't say that I have as I have no idea what the JJB is.
  8. I have to say this has for once been an enjoyable awards show to watch. Usually they are boring and I filp to other stuff while people I don't like are singing, but not tonight.
  9. I second that, thankfully they stopped playing it.
  10. It definitely was a sad song indeed. I feel fortunate to be in Oklahoma City we he spends his Christmas with his family. I have actually met him a couple of times and was surprised as to how down to earth he is and he definitely loves his family.
  11. The process begins with members and record companies submitting entries, which are then screened for eligibility and category placement. The Academy's voting members, all involved in the creative and technical processes of recording, then participate in (1) the nominating process that determines the five finalists in each category; and (2) the final voting process which determines the GRAMMY winners. Submission Recording Academy members and record companies enter recordings and music videos released during the eligibility year which they consider worthy of recognition in the GRAMMY Awards process. Screening Reviewing sessions by more than 150 experts in various fields are held to ensure that entered recordings meet specific qualifications and have been placed in appropriate fields such as Rock, R&B, Jazz, Country, Gospel, New Age, Rap, Classical and Latin, among others. The purpose of screenings is not to make artistic or technical judgments about the recordings, but rather to make sure that each entry is eligible and placed in its proper category. Nominating First-round ballots with lists of eligible recordings in all fields, except those voted on by special nominating committees, are sent to voting members who return their ballots to the independent accounting firm of Deloitte for tabulation. To help ensure the quality of the voting, members are directed to vote only in their fields of expertise; they may nominate in the four general categories (Record Of The Year, Album Of The Year, Song Of The Year and Best New Artist) and in no more than nine out of 31 fields on their ballots. Special Nominating Committees In craft and other specialized categories, final nominations are determined by national nomination review committees comprised of voting members from all of The Academy's Chapter cities. Final Voting Lists of the finalists are sent to voting members with their second round ballots. The finalists determined by the special nominating committees are also included on these lists. In this final round, Recording Academy members may vote in the four general categories and in no more than eight of the 31 fields. Ballots again are tabulated in secrecy by the independent accounting firm, Deloitte. Results Results of members' voting are not known until the GRAMMY Awards presentation ceremony when names of the winners are delivered by Deloitte in sealed envelopes. GRAMMY Award winners are revealed during the GRAMMY Awards telecast.
  12. They are live, unfortunately not all the categories will be televised. This is one of them i guess.
  13. Just took this from their site, couldn't explain it better then that E! Entertainment Television, Inc. ("E!"), the world's largest producer and distributor of entertainment news and lifestyle-related programming. E! operates E! Entertainment Television, the only television network with programming dedicated to the world of entertainment, and Style Network, dedicated to style, beauty, fashion and home design. E! is currently available to more than 80 million cable and direct broadcast satellite subscribers in the U.S.
  14. Being interviewed on E! right now
  15. Saw him on E! as well, hopefully they will be interviewing him.
  16. I think what deb says sums it all up. She was there, so she speaks first hand. I think their can be a controlled way of doing this without it getting out of hand, but first I think it needs to stop for a time so that it doesn't just spin off out of control on its own. Speaking from experience with some crowd control, things can get out of hand in a split second and before you know it people are going every which way and their is no order to it and usually almost no way to recover. On a side note, as great as it was for Mika to have said it. I think that video needs to get pulled before this does get someone hurt. I think we as MFC need to protect Mika from this obvious error in judgement. If anyone knows the person who has it posted, please see about getting it removed. John
  17. wow, i didn't mean to kill this thread, has anyone heard anything more?
  18. Makes one wonder if the support act didn't make it then how much of the things for Mika's show also didn't make it. Having to pack everything up would mean they got out of there really late.
  19. This is great news and a huge leap forward for the MFC. Great job to all those involved. Its an impressive thing to be a part of such a huge following.
  20. I think this letter condolence is perfect. R.I.P. Heath Ledger 1979-2008
  21. Looks like it is the shows theme song as the preview tonight they played Love Today
  22. Guys We are really sorry but MIKA has had to postpone his show tonight at Hammersmith Apollo as well as tomorrow's at Brixton Academy. Please see the following statement from MIKA which explains the reasons why: "It is with much regret that I have been forced to postpone my two remaining shows on my UK tour on 3 and 4 December at Hammersmith Apollo and Brixton Academy respectively. Over the past few days I have been fighting off a virus that has affected the majority of my band and crew. I thought after last night's performance I could do the shows but this morning it was obvious I could not proceed. After consulting a specialist, I have been advised to rest my voice for a minimum of 48 hours. If I did not do this I would risk long term damage to my vocal chords. I can only apologise to everyone who has bought a ticket and the inconvenience and disappointment this postponement has caused. We are looking at rescheduling these dates early in the New Year; as soon as we have I will let you all know. Thank you all for your continued support and understanding." MIKA Following the announcement that tonights and tomorrow's gigs at Hammersmith and Brixton respectively have had to be cancelled due to MIKA's ill-health we can now reveal the rescheduled dates. The Hammersmith Apollo show will now take place on February 25th, and the Brixton Academy show will now take place on February 26th. All ticket holders for the postponed show can swap tickets for their respective shows, or get a full refund. Once again, many apologies for the inconvenience that this has caused.
